  1. That is precisely what I said. While you're busy telling me what to read, I'll repeat - for the third time - see a doctor if the problem persists. That's what I would do. You wouldn't? Ok, make more snide remarks if you want to, just like I'm supposed to give a damn. I've given my advice. The OP will either follow it or he won't. I'm done with this topic.
  2. The short answer is I don't know. I've used several recipes that make a smaller loaf and they're designed to make a smaller loaf. If you try it with more yeast, I wouldn't use too much more - maybe a quarter or half teaspoon more at most. If you put in too much yeast, you'll end up spending quite awhile cleaning up the resulting mess.
  3. I won't say that's the most ridiculous statement I've ever seen, but it comes close. "Real" sick people? Are you another message board intern? Maybe he has a cold and maybe he doesn't. I don't know and neither do you. If his problem persists, going to see a doctor is the thing to do before it gets worse and Pattaya Memorial is the best convenient place for him to go. If he wants second or third best, he can always go to a street clinic.
  4. You didn't say where you are staying. If you decide to go to a doctor instead of listening to the advice of all the message board interns, if you're staying around the Boyztown or Sunee Plaza area, I suggest going to Pattaya Memorial Hospital. Go up Second Road. When you're very close to the Pattaya Klang intersection, you'll spot the sign for the hospital on the right. They provide excellent treatment, charge reasonable prices, and they'll give you your prescriptions right there. If your problem persists more than two or three days, I hope you'll go. It might not be a cold at all. There are other things it might be and you need a proper diagnosis.
  5. I'm sure it was.
  6. If you think that's bad, it's nothing compared to the sound level when some of these open air bars have a party. Try being around for one of those. They almost invariably use oversized loudspeakers, volume turned up to the max, and off-key singers who sound to me more like someone is torturing cats. Just a few days ago I was going to spend some time at the Question Mark bar in Jomtien Complex. Another bar a few doors away was having a party and it was typical. The volume was so loud, and I mean loud, it drove me away before I even sat down. I went over to the next soi to talk to Erich at the Ganymede, but even with the buildings in between it was still too loud to even be able to talk to Erich. I went home. Anyone remember the law that prohibits the volume from being greater than 90 decibels? Please give me a few minutes to finish having my little laugh.
  7. Actually, a few years ago someone did, although perhaps a better term for it would be "pseudo go go." It was called Rock Hard bar. If I remember correctly, it was located where the Sun Boys bar is now. In front it was a bar. In the back, in an enclosed area, there were two or three go go boys. Often they were regular bar staff who would go back there upon request, strip down, and start dancing - among other things. It closed in 2009. No bar in Jomtien Complex has attempted anything similar since then. There is still a video of the Rock Hard bar at: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x36znu_rock-hard-jomtien-complex_news
  8. Scooby clearly said, "Feel free to continue discussion under a new Topic." He's not stopping anyone from continuing to post their opinions about the same subject. What's the problem?
  9. Does that matter? It can't hurt to try. They're not going to be influenced by it anyway, but I've said my piece and made my point.
  10. On this topic I'm seeing some of the most convoluted, ridiculous justifications for being cheap and stingy with the boys. What are some of these people coming to Thailand for in the first place? To have sex while they're here as often as possible at the cheapest price possible - and then try to come up with justifications for doing that? I have yet to see anything I would consider a valid analogy or justification for taking a boy for sex and then handing over 400 or 500 baht. They probably don't even give the boy taxi fare to go back to his room. Unfortunately, no argument is going to change the attitude of the Cheap Charlies. Ok, you come here for a two week holiday. You have sex every day for 400 baht. At the end of two weeks you've spent 5600 baht - the equivelent of about US $160. Meanwhile, if instead you've given 1000 baht every day, at the end of two weeks you've spent 14000 baht for sex - the equivalent of about US $400. Congratulations cheapskates. You saved the equivalent of about US $240. Now you can return home, have a couple steak dinners and fill your car's gas tank a couple of times - all on the boys. You must be really proud of that and feeling really good about yourself.
  11. Maybe the problem is something on your side. I just logged in to Christianpfc's blog just fine, and was not diverted to anything. For me, his site is working perfectly. Have you tried logging in through a proxy site? If not, try that. If you are able to log in that way, without any problems, then the problem is on your side. Even if the problem was on Christianpfc's side, what could he do about it?
  12. I've never heard of anyone having a problem. You'll be fine. At that hour you'll reach the airport in about 90 minutes.
  13. Several board members live in Bangkok. There are also several highly experienced board members who will likely be in Thailand for a holiday while you are here. I'll bet if you post a message asking if someone is willing to guide you around and show you 'the ropes' during your first night on your own, you won't have any problem getting responses from people willing to meet you and help you get a good start.
  14. I would suggest reading trip reports on this and the other boards. I would make sure to read the trip reports from Smiles, Trongpai, and especially Christianpfc. I would urge you to take time to read Christianpfc's blog. He has a great many detailed trip reports, and many of those include reports about places to go that most tourists are not familiar with. See: http://www.christianpfc.blogspot.com/ If you have aditional questions for Christianpfc, just post them. He reads the boards nearly every day and I'm sure he'll be happy to answer questions.
  15. I say the same thing every time posts similar to this one shows up. It's foolish to seek medical advice, any medical advice, on a message board. If you want to know if it's safe to repeatedly use Kamagra, get your answer from a doctor, not from a message board. Even if someone posts that he uses it after only 9 or 10 hours without ill effects and even if he says his own doctor told him it's safe to use, that's fine for him, but it's not necessarily fine for you. And especially when it comes to that area of your body, you might have to pay for a doctor's advice, but don't you think it's worth it rather than taking any risks? I'd feel a lot more comfortable about using it if my doctor tells me it's safe than I would if an anonymous poster on a message board tells me it's safe. Conversely, I would still want to know what my doctor says if someone posts that it's unsafe.
  16. I agree. The bars can set their own off fees, but trying to set tip amounts? To me, that's a no no. That works in massage shops, but if a bar starts trying to set inflated tip amounts, not going to happen. I'd be right out the door. The recommended tip amounts are coming from a combination of what the customers see as fair and what the boys see as reasonable for what they do. When it comes to tipping, as I see it, there's a big difference between being a good guy and being a schmuck. Fiona: "Some men don't like to be driven." James Bond: "No. Some men don't like being taken for a ride." - Sean Connery and Luciana Paluzzi, 'Thunderball'
  17. "Why, I had no idea." - Gregory Peck (Cleve Van Valen), 'How The West Was Won'
  18. "You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!" - Rudyard Kipling
  19. There really is no way to accurately answer that question. There is no predictable pattern to it. If they come, the Thai boys usually start showing up around 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Some days there are several and some days few to none. The same is true for farang - some days several and some days few. In other words, you'll have to go and see. Some days you'll be lucky and some days you won't.
  20. In Pattaya there is only one - the Sansuk Sauna. See: http://www.sansukpattaya.com/
  21. I agree with firecat69's response. I see no problem about giving a boy 800 baht if that's what he asks for. No objection. That's the boy's choice, but that's not the problem. The problem is when the customer tries to get the boy to agree to a lower price. I always give the boy his taxi fare in additon to the tip. Since I live on "The Dark Side," depending on where the boy is coming from the taxi fare usually ranges between 100 to 160 baht, each way. Probably for most of you, his taxi fare will be less than 50 baht, each way if he's coming to you as an outcall. Once in awhile a boy has his own, or a friend's motorbike and (rarely) the boy even has his own car. Don't forget, not every boy is a money boy, but if a boy is working in a bar, it's a sure bet he is. I've met my share of boys who refuse to take any money at all, but that's never happened with a bar boy. One other thing that's never happened, and ain't no way, no how, it ever will - a boy offering to pay me . . .
  22. I'm with firecat69 on this. Most people who argue that an agreed price of under 1000 baht is what ought to be paid are the same people who spend a lot of money on airfare alone just getting here, stay in relatively expensive hotels, eat in good restaurants, have plenty of drinks, andtreat themselves very nicely. Meanwhile, when it comes to the boys, far too many farang try to get them to agree to as low a price as possible. The boys are the main reason many come here in the first place, aren't they? My opinion - short time 1000 baht minimum. Long time, including overnight, 1500 to 2000 baht minimum. I think everyone here is well aware that this is how the boys make their living. Why on earth anyone would be out to deprive them, just to save themselves a couple hundred baht, goes beyond me - far beyond me. If you really have to save money, just as if a few thousand baht more in tips would ruin your holiday, then cut back on drinks, eat less expensive meals, but don't be a cheapskate with the boys.
  23. The question was would half a Viagra do the trick? I don't know. And if you're not a doctor, neither do you. If you're going to try to medicate him into an erection, which in my opinion is a wrong thing to do, then the least you could do is take him to a qualified doctor and have him examined to rule out a physical problem. If nothing physical prevents him from getting an erection, ask the doctor what, if anything, can be done and would be the appropriate course of treatment for him, if he wants any treatment. But don't start taking it upon yourself to start prescibing for him.
  24. Vinapu is right. A board owner can set the time limit for editing and/or deleting one's own post. On this board I think it's about one hour. After that, the icons for editing and deleting will disappear.
  25. I agree. Unless it's a blatantly obvious troll post, assuming someone is a troll after just one post is a little too quick on the draw for me. When I made my first trip to Thailand I had more questions than Carter's has liver pills. Besides, sometimes even troll posts raise questions and issues of general interest. Everybody here made a first trip to Thailand. Most knew little or nothing on their first trip and sometimes to me it looks as if a few who have made multiple trips still know little or nothing.
