  1. Mike's All New White Night, is now on its 7th menu change since May. Recent additions are the Chilli Con Carne, Pan-fried Chicken thigh with Green Peppercorn and Mustard sauce, and the very popular Roast Duck breast with an Orange and Mango sauce. On the desert selection the Summer Pudding continues to be the favourite and the English style Pancakes served with sugar and fresh lime wedges, are mouth watering! At only 190B for two courses and just 250B for four courses it really is terrific value for money. Let me also remind you that we are currently open from 9.30am every day for Breakfast and we stay open through to 10pm. See you soon, Mike & the Team.
  2. I believe on that thread I said people can ask questions without fear of being put down by other posters. I don't think I said anything about on which forum the questions have to appear. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. GT reads this forum every day and he'll see these posts. It's entirely his decision. I have nothing to do with that aspect of decision making on this board. I have no access to any of the board programming. Considering that you gents are saying that's what you want, I'm sure GT take it seriously. If he does decide to go with your ideas, I just hope everyone will cooperate so that I don't end up having to spend time moving posts from forum to forum.
  3. What makes you think I would put down your idea? I have no reason to support or put down your idea. I think people tend to forget this is not my web site. It belongs to GT. He makes those decisions. I have nothing to do with it. I simply moderate what's here. If he wants to put in another forum, I have no objection. If he wants things to remain status quo, I also have no objection.
  4. Don't you carry a mobile phone? Their number is 02 251 1009. Why not get a taxi, call their number, and have them explain to the taxi driver where to take you?
  5. The following appears in the BANGKOK POST: _____ Release Prisoners, Says PM By: ANUCHA CHAROENPO Published: 6/07/2009 Thailand wants the Burmese government to release opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other political prisoners as part of its national reconciliation process, acting government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn says. The position was conveyed by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon in talks on Saturday. Thailand is chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations until the end of the year. Mr Ban made a stopover in Bangkok on his way from Burma. The Burmese junta refused his request to meet Mrs Suu Kyi who is on trial for violating her detention conditions. Although Mr Ban's request was rejected, Thailand supported the UN in playing a role in attempts to bring about national reconciliation in Burma, Mr Panitan quoted the prime minister as saying. The 10-member Asean will try to address the problem of Burma at meetings of Southeast Asian foreign ministers and the grouping's coming summit, he said. Asean foreign ministers will hold talks on July 20 in Phuket followed by talks until July 23 with their dialogue partners. Their leaders will gather at the resort island in October. Mr Ban told the prime minister he was disappointed with Burma for not allowing him to meet the National League for Democracy leader. The prime minister will pay his first official visit to Burma at the end of the month, the acting spokesman said. It was uncertain whether he would raise the issue of Mrs Suu Kyi at meetings with Burmese leaders, he said.
  6. No need to be sad. I thank you for your comments. I think it is crystal clear as to what we will and will not tolerate on this board. The person in question chose his actions and the consequences of them for himself. There is nothing more to be said. Now I think the questions about duvet covers have been sufficiently answered, which is what the topic of this thread was supposed to be about. The only direction this thread can go now would be to debate about the actions of one poster or debate about my response to those actions. Since that has nothing to do with duvet covers, it's time to move on. If anyone wishes to continue the debate about the Laurence-Gaybutton dispute, feel free to do so, but on a new thread. This thread is now locked.
  7. That's right. And my last word to you is don't let the door slam you in the ass as you leave. We'll try really hard to struggle along without you. Meanwhile, I'm sure people who wish to ask questions appreciate your departure announcement. Now they'll know they can post their questions and they'll know I mean business when I assure them they won't have to put up with put downs. Apparently you thought being a moderator means I'm going to allow you to insult and name call. You thought wrong.
  8. No sir, it isn't. Your posts are starting to insult people. Calling people, their posts, and their questions 'stupid' is absolutely unacceptable on this board. One thing we don't need around here are posts like that, or anything else that makes our readers concerned that if they wish to ask questions, now they can look forward to a put-down as a response. We're not going to have people reluctant to ask their questions because someone like you will probably be right there to insult them. So, go ahead. Write an insult post again and you're gone. How's that for getting my tits in wringer?
  9. I've been trying to understand that for years. I have no idea why things like that so often go unreported. Lumphini Park has not been much of a gay cruising area for years now anyway, so I don't know why anyone would bother going there anymore. I know nothing about Sanam Luang. What I do know is it's best to stick to places known to be safe, during hours known to be safe. Most of these nighttime attacks occur between 2:30am to 4:30am. That's not a safe time to be out cruising for boys even in Pattaya.
  10. Ok, what do you propose we do about it, set up a screening committee and require judgment on the quality of the questions before we permit them to be posted? Next question from me is: Even if what you say is true, so what? Who or what is being harmed by the questions you consider to be frivolous?
  11. Don't you love it? Now that Sarah Palin is going to step down from her post as governor, I hope she really does run for president in 2012. That way Obama and the Democrats are assured of a landslide victory. Actually, I do see an advantage to Palin as president. It would stop terrorism in its tracks. They would all be laughing too hard to cause any harm.
  12. If they are, that's their problem. Nothing is wrong with your questions. I'll bet plenty of people are interested in the answers. We don't have a screening committee around here to determine whose questions and what questions are the most important ones. We try to answer them all, if we can. Granted that questions about coffee may not have the same seriousness and significance as asking why the universe continues to expand, but if it's a question that's on your mind, then it's an important question.
  13. I have no idea, but the next logical question is, given the temperatures in Pattaya, what do you want with a blanket in the first place?
  14. I've never used it, but there is a shoe repair shop on Second Road, toward the beach just past the Second Road-Pattaya Tai traffic light.
  15. And the total amount you paid came to how much?
  16. One of life's little embarrassing moments. For some strange reason, I don't think this guy is a member of MENSA. Maybe he knew about the 4th of July holiday for Americans and first, a little early, celebrated the fourth with a fifth . . . The following appears in the PATTAYA DAILY NEWS: for photos, see: http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownews.p...NEWS=0000009641 _____ Thief Falls Asleep on the Job in Pattaya A thief broke into the house of a prosecuting attorney in the evening of 2nd July 2009, but instead of getting away with a lucrative haul of money and valuables, the sleepy thief dozed off. As he woke up he was discovered by the house maid and is now in police custody. Police Lieutenant Colonel Sutham Chaosritong was notified at 8:30 pm and dispatched a police team to the house at 159 / 115, Moo. 5 Naklua, Banglamung, next to the Lotus shopping center in North Pattaya. A very agitated housemaid, 45 year old Mrs. Sri [alias], was awaiting their arrival. She explained that she went out to do some shopping that evening and on her return at 8.30pm, she found a man in a sleepy state standing behind the door of the second bedroom on the second floor which was normally empty and used as a store room. She was shocked by the sight of the intruder and screamed for help from the neighbours. The man then shut the door and locked himself inside. She immediately called the police. After failing to convince the intruder to open the door police broke into the room and arrested the man, Mr Prajuk Jark Ngoo-Leum, [20]. He told police that he had climbed into the house and got into the room at around 6.00 pm, intending to take some valuables, but instead fell asleep. When he woke up and walked to the door to continue his search for items to steal, the maid opened the door and saw him. He shut the door immediately and tried to find a way out but the police arrived before he could manage to escape. Mr Prajuk confessed to the attempted burglary and is being held at the Pattaya police station, under investigation for trespassing. __________ I love it. Not only does this genius break into a house and then decide to take a little snooze, but he breaks into a prosecuting attorney's house. Way to go!
  17. I just had a look. Yes, they're up and running again.
  18. If you're serious, I'll be available for that after July 19. I'm quite busy up until then. If you want to make arrangements, please contact me by Email at: gaybutton@gmail.com I do already have one person who wants to do it, and he contacted me first. That means room for you and one more. As for hotels, I suggest either the Malaysia or the Pinnacle. Both are easiest to get to by car in that Bangkok traffic. Personally, I prefer the Malaysia.
  19. Like I said: Waste not, want not.

  21. The trouble is, otherwise normally intelligent people often come here and instead of using the brain they ought to use, they start using their second brain . . . the one in their crotch.
  22. I just cook the roaches. After all, waste not, want not . . . Not bad with a little soy sauce. Deep fry them. They get nice and crunchy.
  23. Gaybutton

    Black Boxes

I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm saying it's not practical to do it whether it can be done or not. Certainly, as with cell phones, the capability exists, but unlike cell phones, it would all have to be recorded and identifiable.
  24. Sheeeeesh! Are you actually going to provoke a debate over where the best coffee comes from? I can't tell you where the best coffee comes from, but I have a pretty good idea where the worst comes from: A Nescafe instant coffee container. Have you ever been to the Middle East? In Israel it is common to add something to coffee that's called, rather appropriately, hell. I don't know what it is, but with it in the coffee, which is lousy there in the first place, now the coffee tastes as if someone added Pine-Sol to it.
  25. If it's something you really like, don't want to be without, would not be costly to bring, and would not take up so much room in your luggage you would have to deprive yourself of something else you want, then it seems like a perfectly reasonable plan to me.
