Hornet is good value for money - my annual subscription is $29.99 per year and they don't add extra fees like Grindr does in case you want to know who looked at your profile - that is free. You also can follow other profiles and see who is following that profile and also see who is following your profile - great for knowing which birds of the same feather flock together - a BIG help when you are looking for similar minded people (i.e. who might have a proclivity for similar sexual activities) Meanwhile, greedy Grindr costs $19.99 per month and you need to pay extra if you want to know who looked at your profile and I do not believe that there isn't any follow member feature ? So, the cost for 1.5 months of Grindr is equivalent to 12 months on Hornet. Lastly, Heesay's annual subscription costs $59.99 - equivalent to 3 months of Grindr

Mine are all from the Pattaya area - unless Vinapu is in town then some BKK guys could get on this list: 1) B (Thai) guy from the Jomtien Supertown Complex, who organizes my 4 hands massages on 2 of my 4 weekly gym days 2) B (Thai) guy from the Dongtan gay volleyball, who organizes my 4 hands massages on 1 of my 4 weekly gym days For the other days in the week - if I would want sex - then it is from the apps - mostly from Hornet - as that is where I have the most success.

In my opinion, the local city government is at fault here. We all pee in the see because there is NO where else to pee. The city has not built any bathrooms that are open in the night when the beach gets packed because - as we know the Thais do not like the sun and they flock to the beach at sunset or afterwards and by that time the few public toilets have already been closed and locked up. so, if you need to pee - where should you do it ? p.s. I hate peeing in the Jomtien sea - but as there is no other choice on where to pee - I join the Thais and do it with them. I am always bitching and complaining about the coffee brown color of the sea water - but the local city government needs to improve the situation in my opinion. Just go to Jomtien soi 12 at night and it is packed - especially after the bars close....

Does anyone know what is to become of the ex Dolce Vita restaurant in the Jomtien Supertown Complex? I walked through the complex today in the morning and I saw some construction workers doing works.
-
yes - perfect plan - even include WhatsApp - but here in Thailand most of the guys use LINE. The alternate apps (Hornet, PlanetRomeo, Heesay {ex BLUED}, etcetra) allow you to see guys that are not in Grindr because of their broken kaleidoscope approach to the way they conduct their business.

Lucky you!!! Please try to take a peak. The reason that I created this post is because the Twitter (X) and LINE Massage Insider forum is really pushing this event. I am not familiar with this event and I was hoping that someone here in our forum would know more or has been to past events of Crete the Party. I am very curious to understand what are the possible interaction opportunities between the Guests (us who would buy this ticket) and the Crete the Party models ??

and I also took him based on your recommendation and I was very satisfied with all of his appealing attributes. Thank you @vinapu ðĪĐ

I cannot wait to read your trip report ððĪŠððĶ

Unfortunately, the 3 times that it happened I was pressed for time due to the unpredictable inner city Pattaya traffic - as I had fixed medical appointments - where if I miss my time slot it can be painful to reschedule. It does not happen frequently - but I wanted to point it out in case this might happen to one of our forum members....

On an empty stomach my body's digestive system could NEVER process what I ate so quickly - so that end would be empty ð

Hi @Moses, here in Pattaya there is a mini scam going on with the cars that you order via Bolt. You place your order on the app and 1 of 2 things can sometime happen: 1.) A different car arrives and it is usually those V.I.P. taxi cars. They cancel your ride in the Bolt app and they take you at the same price as quoted by the Bolt app, 2.) Your are asked to cancel your ride when someone calls you on the phone and takes you in a different car --> but price is same as the price quoted by Bolt. I asked why this was happening and these clandestine drivers explained to me that they want to pocket the money that Bolt would have taken from the driver as a Bolt service fee.

but you wrote earlier that you wanted to stay in Bangkok as it was cheaper and more fun ðĪ I also use https://www.thelimopattaya.com/rates/ for many years now and I am very pleased with their service. Eve and her husband run this business and they have other drivers available. I have even used them to bring hot sexy premium guys (only 2 occasions) to me in Pattaya from Bangkok and also from Suvarnabhumi, as that premium guy was coming to me from HatYai and I had the limo service fetch him for me.

or someone reports you for asking "how much" - as there is paranoia on both sides (supposed worker + potential client) with the way that Grinder polices their app traffic - which in my opinion should be confidential.

This is one of the many reasons that I HATE Grindr. They try to play GOD too much and consequently hurt our desperate guys who are trying to make a living. Then for us on the consumer side - we can't find the guys we want because they are not on Grindr for a myriad of reasons. Grindr is like a broken kaleidoscope that prevents us from seeing the many many guys who are actually willing and available. Just compare the number of profiles visible in Pattaya of Grindr versus Hornet for example = many more are visible and available in Hornet. Also, Grindr is very expensive (when compared to the other apps) and they are always upselling additional services for things that are basic on other apps - like to be able to see who visited my profile. Grindr acts like RyanAir where they try to make you pay for every single basic feature.

I would agree with your assessment @Olddaddy, - IF you are in vacation mode with limited time, then Bangkok has much more to offer. Pattaya is more laid back in slow mode. The days are long until the night life wakes up. During the day in Pattaya you can: go to the Sanuk sauna https://sansukthailand.com/ go to the Dongtan gay beach and relax, converse with the other gay visitors, get a massage, eat, drink, or get a massage or pedicure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JoP3wf-Mio This Thai guy presents on his Youtube channel a LGBT tour - at video timestamp = 2:35 he gets to Dongtan beach go into the Jomtien Supertown Complex and visit some of the many massage shops https://jomtiencomplex.com/jomtien-complex-gay-massage/ go shopping in Pattaya city center at Central Festival and/or Terminal 21 start early in the morning and venture over to Koh Larn island and swim, relax, tan on one of their lovely beaches with clean transparent turquoise blue water

As you discovered in your previous trip here - Thailand is not known for "well endowed" guys like the guys are in the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Venezuela - or as the guys in the below report as published by The Sun: https://www.thesun.co.uk/health/28338263/map-countries-with-biggest-penises-and-breasts/

and this sage advice is VERY true - as I found out back when I lived in Budapest and my 2 Adonis masseurs came to my apartment to give me a 4 hands massage and I was so hungry prior (due to my then stressful job where massive overtime was required I was often running in the nik of time from the office to my home for whatever appointment I had) to the appointment that I stopped to quickly eat some Hungarian goulash = BIG mistake - because as the 2 Adonis' were pushing down on my body (with my stomach facing down) I could feel the goulash coming up from my stomach towards my throat where I had to quickly excuse myself and dispose of my dinner into the toilet in order to be able to continue the massage - it was quite embarrassing as they could hear me in the toilet. So, lesson learned - better to be hungry and famished PRIOR to a massage than full and satisfied (temporarily). but, we were still ALL able to obtain our happy endings....

Haha I'm not really much of a drinker so no alcohol is ok with me. It's just kinda disappointing that the bars would be closed on Thurs cos I love watching the shows there ð I agree with the above suggested action plan for Thursday. I am a "pensioner", since 2 years here, and when these types of Buddhist holidays would occur, I found myself in amazement (I was not yet indoctrinated into the Thai ways - which are VERY similar to the Italian ways of getting around the law found in Italy - where they have a word dedicated to this activity = "scappatoia") when we were at the beach with my volleyball friends and they said to me - we need to get some beer and drinks to liven things up here - as all of the bars are closed. But I replied, "we cannot - it is illegal to buy alcohol for these 24 hours..." They all laughed at me - as the Thais truly love when us farangs are bewildered. One of them said to me, come with me, and I will show you how it is done. We went to a local "mom and pop" store (situated right next to a 7-Eleven - where ALL of the 2 alcohol selling zones were taped off with prohibition signs) and my Thai friend told the cashier / owner - what he wanted and she made it happen - she looked around for anyone that might rat her out and determined that the coast was clear, and I paid and we left with 2 bags of alcohol (beer, whisky, ice, cups, and snacks) and we returned back to the beach on Jomtien soi 9 I believe. I was truly amazed and I kept saying WOW - at 7-Eleven this was a BIG NO NO but at the "mom and pop" store next door it was a BIG YES YES. My friends had a good laugh at my bewilderment and they told me - Welcome to Thailand. @Foolish - another idea that you can do is around 5:30 pm (everyday) - you can walk over to the Jomtien - Dongtan gay beach area - in front of the Pattaya Tower and Water Park - right next to the Sea Rescue station - you can watch the gay volleyball which can be fun. If you offer to buy the volleyball players some refreshments - you might be rewarded with some entertainment during the night.

Myself and another forum member, we decided to see the Tiffany Show last night here in Pattaya. The Tiffany facility is huge and is situated very close to Terminal 21 in Pattaya. They have 3 back-to-back shows every day at 18:00, 19:30, and 21:00. We had 2 VIP Gold seats at 2,300 baht each. The show has a duration of about 1 hour and consists of 13 amazing performances: Pattaya The Glory Flare Be Italian I Am What I Am Maharaja Saigon Arirang Je Ne Sais Quoi Reflections The Magic Stone Tsarist Russia Tiffany's Follies One Man, One Woman The theatre was about 80% full and I would estimate that 80% of the crowd was Asian - predominantly Chinese. The show is great and well worth the price to see it and what impressed me the most were: The ever changing scenography on the stage - done in such a quick continuous way as each scene concluded and commenced. The use of hi-tech digital lighting and lots of amazing neon lights was truly impressive, The performers, both the lady boys and the male dancers were very talented, The originality of the individual sets - that was a very good mix of most of the cultures that visit Pattaya - very smart - from Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian, American, Russian, etcetera - there was something for everyone. Energy - as the show is very energetic and entertaining I felt like I drank 7 cups of coffee when I left feeling very satisfied. So, if you are visiting Pattaya, I highly suggest a visit to see the Tiffany Show https://www.tiffany-show.co.th/ Also, for a very entertaining smaller scaled down version, you can also see the Cabaret show at the M2M bar in the Jomtien Supertown Complex. https://www.facebook.com/people/M2M-Bar-Club-Cabaret/100063975036102/ I share some random images from the Tiffany Show - unfortunately, they were prohibiting us from taking photos/videos by pointing green laser lights onto anyone who had their phone camera out who was filming - so I could not capture my FAVORITE scenography - of the electrical neon intensive backdrop of Pattaya - as if it was from Walking Street - very well done - reminiscent of scenes from last year's "Pattaya Heat" movie - which I truly enjoyed.

Send in dollars to Thailand and let Thai bank convert?
bkkmfj2648 replied to Shonen's topic in Gay Thailand
Hi @Shonen, I do my inbound $ transfers into Thailand via the WISE app, as they give me the benefit of: fair near interbank rate, low fees, fast - can be same day if you get the timing correct {bank cutoff in Thailand is respected} or by next business day, --> most importantly, I can attach the reason onto the transfer to show that this transfer is for retirement purposes - the Thai immigration people like to see this designation when we go to renew/extend our retirement visas. https://wise.com/gb/currency-converter/usd-to-thb-rate -
and this is not ONLY a Tawan = The One problem it is almost EVERYWHERE in the gay Thailand world - this FAILURE to implement basic marketing strategies. They will complain that they have no money and no customers but won't take that step to market and/or market themselves to make them visible. Here in Jomtien, so many of the local guys complain that they don't get enough customers but when I look at their app footprint I see the following problems: they only use Hornet and their entire profile is ONLY in the Thai language. I tell them if you want to reach the farang (non Thai) potential client base you need to insert some English words into your profile, many of them do not use Grindr - I keep telling them if you want to get non-Thai customers you need to have a presence on Grindr - as that is where most of the farangs hang out when they do their guy searching via apps. Unfortunately, I have heard horrible stories where if someone reports you as being a money boy (MB) on Grindr or by Grindr themselves they block them at the mobile phone level - meaning that if they even change the email that Grindr associates them with - that Grindr will still block them as somehow Grindr can see the device ID and know that it is them that they already blocked, the Heesay app (formerly BLUED) is really only used by a subset of the larger Asian population (China ? Korea? and some in Thailand). Again, I tell them to insert English words into their Heesay profile, Fear that their "friends" will learn that they are a money boy - so they write their profiles in such a way that a person visiting Thailand would have NO clue that they are available for hire. As for the massage shops here in Jomtien - they are their worst enemy - as the shop owners do not do any marketing of their guys and/or shops like they do in Bangkok - so the guys are left alone to their own devices for marketing purposes. Generally, the guys do not implement a self-promotion marketing plan and prefer to sit on those plastic chairs outside of these small massage shops for 6 to 8 hours a day waiting for that one farang who might chose them. They get desperate, especially if they have only had one customer in a given week. Furthermore, many are freelance - and so the shop does not pay them a salary and if they get a non-Thai customer and that person is not accustomed to giving a tip (on which they survive on to pay the rent and eat) their situation becomes quite dire - as it is very difficult to live on a 20 baht tip. Again, I fault the managers / owners of these small shops for not properly "educating" the incoming customers. In Bangkok, many of the massage shops are quite explicit and clear about how much you (the client) are supposed to tip the masseur as it relates to the requested service.
