Unfortunately, this practice is almost non-existent here in Jomtien and then there is noone to protect our local masseurs. And some of my local massuer friends have told me that one of the questions that they first ask to the prospective punter is, "where do you come from?", and if it is a certain set of countries then they will know to only expect a 20 to 100 baht tip for 60 minutes of work - so, sometimes they will decline the customer and/or try to explain to them the expected tip - but that is difficult, as the punter will then make a verbal fuss - thus creating a potentially confrontational situation which Thai people hate - as that goes against their cultural upbringing. Therefore, if the shop manager would do like they do back in BKK this problem could be alleviated.

Thank you for having the courage to write this @emiel1981 as this is something that BURNS my ass when I see that some people want to underpay our guys - especially after 10 years of static prices. Inflation is REAL and I am sure that many of the visitors here to LOS have received inflation raises in their salaries and/or pensions - so why shouldn't our guys merit an inflation increase after 10 years. After living here in Pattaya for 2 years now as a new retiree, I see first hand how our guys struggle - especially during the low season when the Jomtien Supertown Complex is a ghost town and our guys still need to eat, pay the rent, live their lives, etc. We need to remember that in the prior year's low season that there were 6 suicides. This year I have not heard of any new suicides. Let's give our guys a break - they deserve it.

Please note that there are 3 distinct Zing hotels in Pattaya (Jomtien) as shown in the below Google map. The first one (from top to bottom on the map) is the one that is on Thappraya road and closest to the gay Sansuk sauna. The second one is the one within the Jomtien Complex The third one is almost at the border where Jomtien finishes and Na Jomtien begins - very far south. --> I found out about this when a friend was doing his booking for Zing and he chose the Z by Zing one and he asked me to go and check it out. Once I told him that it is SO far from all of the fun stuff he immediately changed his booking.

For now your logic should work as long as in the future that immigration will not count the number of calendar days that you stayed in Thailand in a given year as stamped in your passport -> if this count would exceed 180 days and then perhaps immigration might ask to see your Thai tax filing for that year. Repeat this process until my age 70, when I should qualify for the BOI Wealthy Pensioner 10 year visa, which is currently exempt from any tax. But you must prove that you can bring $80,000 USD equivalent into Thailand in the previous 2 individual years, where this amount is ONLY sourced from passive income proven with 2 years of tax returns. It is ironic that you need to pay tax if you cannot bring in $80,000 USD equivalent per each tax year. So, tax the poor and do not tax the wealthy. TIT = This is Thailand
