I agree with your comments about Potato Famine. It seems that we humans have short memory and often forget about our ancestors suffering and also their sinister deeds. Many mass murderers from deep past now we call Great and built them statues. But this is another story. As for our thread if that was sign Shamrock had placed it changes whole perspective and I will not be faulting them for this kind of discrimination. No place in that area would like be know as gathering place of young boy's, . likely they meant ' too young '. "admirers" and their prey. And probably none of us would like to be seen in such place either. As this sector of "entertainment" was decimated or went deep underground no need for sign anymore and there's none as williewillie noticed.

Our discussion here on this thread attracted attention and found it's way to popular bangkokbois blog as Sunday Funnies #80. Link below. I recognize even part of my own post. I sense that in his opinion some of us are not principled enough, I'm not being sarcastic just stating fact. It may be valid point but again discussion of how much tolerance for enemies of tolerance will have no end. IMHO in reality of Pattaya where one can be gay in the open those battles are not worth fighting, just ignore homophobic businesses and let everybody and his brother know why and who they are. It should work - I passed several times by the Shamrock last November and did not notice any notes we are talking about so it possibly worked out already. In a sense, owner of then place adjacent to Boystown would be very brave to keep such notes posted, imagine note in soi 6 ' " no unaccompanied ladies allowed " http://bangkokbois-gay-thailand-blog.com/2014/06/29/sunday-funnies-80/

It's nothing to laugh at firecat, this contribution of yours really helps local industry, after all chances boys spent tips in multinational hotels or restaurants are none. They will eat locally, smoke local cigarettes and invite their friends for Mekhong whisky not Balvenie or MacAllan.

Trip report from May and June 2014 to Gay Thailand

sooner hotels realize that good internet is as crucial as working A/C better for them. Even if we don use one this should be available 8 days a week / 25 hours a day. I guess they took Michael's custom for granted, hence sloppy rush to fix trouble -

Trip report from May and June 2014 to Gay Thailand

sounds like me, massage in the morning, longer one in the afternoon and nightly visit to Soi Twilight either with boy already arranged or to pick up one -
I think it says it all, as long as he tried to create rapport one can't ask for more, usually it works and even if sometimes not I'd still be leaving happy knowing I got my money worth and plus. I found over the years that more experienced boys know better what buttons to press but newbies are more enthusiastic so whoever I choose I'm winner somehow. Your report confirms again that when comes to service HERO boys are hard to beat.

Bangkok is world class city, Pattaya is provincial backwater with dirty beaches but first class boys and girls. You can easily spent 2 months in Bangkok not being bored, try that in Pattaya, fast you will gain that sad face of resident farangs there. -
I think I know what finger you have in mind, all this would be funny if it weren't truth
-
that's great idea but being you I'd still observe boys behind the glass leaving writing to other , rather boyless time
-
what you need wifi there for? You are not planning to provide us with report while boy will be shagging , err , massaging you, do you?

Nice report, This internet fuck -up really tickled you off. I understand it messed you with your research. On bona fide vacations I'd be happy if internet would not be working, excuse of not even looking computer side just for break. Congrats from me as well on weight loss, 2 pounds every 3 days shows it can be done if one is motivated enough. I'm glad you found Banana , IMHO underrated competitor to HERO , for me is usually other way around, going to Hero but getting disctracted by Banana sign and finishing up there. What is wrong with soi Twilight? Not a first time somebody complains that is getting boring and uninteresting, Certainly not my impression, I could spent whole days there just watching traffic passing by. But like you I found joys of slow speed vacations so I'm not surprised you liked being enclosed in Sathorn. This is why I don't like luxury hotels in BKK , they are so nice that one doesn't feel even need to hit streets. -
I never participated but heard that Bangkok Gay Pride was pretty noisy affair in Silom. Do they still organize it? If yes , any idea where and when this year, ?
-
Good, we can expect two reports, one from you and another one promised by TMax . If Hero will be to crowded , count your blessings - more time to watch eye candy behind the glass !

Stares can't be avoided, when I see farang of age with walker in company of beautiful young girl can't help myself and stare also, usually smile at girl. In the hotels at breakfast I always stare at boys sitting with their farangs on assumption the farang will be thrilled that I admire his choice, certainly I like when my boys are stared and even better, smiled at. I live in busy street and sleep in summer with open windows, it why my tolerance for noise is high. My impression is that all Asian countries east of Iran are very noisy, try to travel overnight on Indian bus or Chinese ordinary train. I guess noise is part and parcel of Asian experience

Hero being hard to find is perpetual urban legend which always amazes me. If one is walking from BTS only thing to remember is to take left fork of soi when soi 11 splits in two, the same goes with taxi driver. If you hop on mototaxi at mouth of the soi at Sukhumvit if you find driver who doesn't know where Hero is, buy lottery ticket immediately.

Bangkok is cheaper but in September rains a lot, toss a coin, heads you win, tails you will not lose either

I would not worry at all about posting his picture being appropriate or not , this is gay forum and we should help ourselves by pointing out who hates us. He is not worrying if what he is doing is politically correct , why should we?

High Speed Internet on Trips to and From Thailand

those flying from Europe or Australia have it easy, North Americans suffer badly, either you leave mid-day and arrive around mid-night or other way around so not really day / night choice and depending on departure time one may lose whole day ie. departure at 3 p.m. on Monday, arrive in BKK 1 a.m. on Wednesday and we are talking fast connections. Going back is the same headache but the same day becomes veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy long, depart at midnight and after 20 hours in the air plus connection you are home in the morning the same day. Sometimes it becomes fun ie depart Sydney in the morning and after 10 hours flight you are in Honolulu in the evening OF THE PREVIOUS DAY -

High Speed Internet on Trips to and From Thailand

I don't laugh, I envy you like hell as I generally don't sleep on the plane. But few years ago flying from Casablanca to Frankfurt, at night this happened to me, it was like closing eyes in Casablanca and waking 5 seconds later in Frankfurt , still cherish that memory -
Usually this segregation is done by economical means. Noisy youngsters rarely have enough money for better hotels and even if they have their friends don't so they stay in different places then us good sleep loving folks. In better hotels you can always enlist help of staff to quiet them down, not always works though. I have soft spot for those noisy youngsters as in days past I was one of them and whenever they throw party i feel kind of nostalgic and suffer in silence. Last November noises coming from room 314 in BBB Inn not only screw whole floor but provided us with hard porn movie quality soundtrack but this somehow corresponded with our bit quieter activities at the same time so no complain from me neither my boy.

Actually I miss him too, looks that he did not find enough support from forum in his debacle with his boyfrend and took off from us

Imkeev , don't get discouraged by remarks above, full moon is coming so we are getting cranky at times. Keep posting and enjoy your time in BKK. vinapu

High Speed Internet on Trips to and From Thailand

unfortunately I can't sleep too much on the plane and watching movies makes my eyes tired so I need to resort to old fashioned reading books and magazines and internet would be nice addition. What I find surprising as age progresses I'm taking those long flights better and better but jet lags becoming problem more and more.
