  1. congratulations ! Lucky devil you !
  2. even in Pattaya one can easily spend an afternoon at Sanctuary of Truth and whole day at NomNooch Tropical gardens. In Bangkok first day should be started with taking boat from Saphan Taksin BTS to the Grand Palace. Trip to Thonburi canals can be easily arranged at the pier over there. Grand Palace ticked gives free admission to Vinamek Palace and Anantha Trone Hall within 7 days. Snake farm with 2 shows and Wat Hualampong are walking distance from soi Twilight. Aytthaya and Muang Boran are making great day trip destinations from Bangkok
  3. My tip: when taking taxi always take one which is moving, don't take ones standing at the curb, chances are they will overcharge you. During day use BTS / MRT whenever posiible because of traffic congestion. Forget about tuk-tuk unless you are curious and want to sample it.
  4. for me up to 8 hours , after that I suffer silently no matter comfort level, "end is near" thought being my consolation
  5. I hope one with silicone deformed monster was missing from that part

    18, new to bkk

excellent point, is not important who posts but what is posted. We should be nice to new posters, I know about at least three who silenced themselves here and stop posting because they felt their posts were unfairly commented on.
  7. Read carefully what biguyby said : "fat old farang" you can't be both at once, are you? as for 9 inches, are you sure it is not 10 ?
  8. I like your way of thinking
  9. as long as it helps to keep prices low. Going to Bangkok I can suffer any indignities other than delayed flight , return flight to slavery is where problems start showing and depression kicks in me

    Coming to Bangkok

what about short impressions from your trip?
  11. Because plenty of excellent connections from Bangkok all SE Asia countries can be taken as a side trip. Cambodia would be my first choice but you can do as well with Myanmar, Vietnam & Laos. It's only 4 hr flight to Bali and even to Paro in Bhutan you can get non-stop from Bangkok. In fact my first 8 trips to Thailand were combination with some other country in the region. Depending of your country of residence make sure you survey Visa situation, not every country needs visa , on another hand you may not be able to obtain visa on arrival and must arrange for it in advance. If you are dual national holding two passports you may play visa games as you may find that there's price difference or even visa free access for one nationality but not other one. Which country you chose depends on your preferences. If you looking for beaches Laos is not your option obviously. Common denominator for most of those countries is that they are affordable.
  12. do you remember how much they are charging for short time room?
  13. That the good news ! One more point for the bar I consider the best in LOS. Although for me pretty academic as I like to stay in LE Cafe Royale, whole 20 seconds walk from that bar
  14. That was my whole point, whole pleasure of travelling is that traveller finds himself in completely unknown place not knowing what to expect. That's the thrill we all felt probably when we found soi Twilight and enter it for first time. If everything is planned, surveyed, booked and prepaid traveller becomes tourist of 'If it's Tuesday it must be Belgium" variety.
  15. I can attest to it. I never considered Nantra Silom and Tarntawan hotels until I read reviews on this very forum. Also learned about S52 massage here as well as Pattaya vans from the Victory Monument.
  16. you will hire guide to show you around. He will show you places where you can hire your consolation as well. Or you want to have sex with guide? I doubt there's such a site with both offers in the same breath as we are talking different attributes. Knowledgeable and fun to be with in ordinary sense guide may not taste, sexy boy you are lusting for may have problem navigate Suriwong from Silom .
  17. if you still there try Magnolia as well, better appointed that those two. you probably missed whole Boyztown massage offer - in none of the three places there's danger of seeing too young or too effeminate. I'm curious why not having shower in the room bothers you - security, cleanliness or you just like gymnastics in the shower with the boy and are not keen of doing it in semi-public space? Anyways with Royal House and Narcissus you picked up very well, always hunks at Royal, always fun at Narcissus
  18. I know you are trying to help but for cheapskates like me very thought of spending money on business class would cause sleep deprivation. I rather suffer cattle class sleepless indignities for half of that price and use money saved this way to waste on massages, drinks, off fees and boy's tips. At end of day I believe I have more fun laying flat with Tawan hunk than alone in business class, but that's me ,an idiot who considers Tarntawan ultimate luxury.
  19. me too and for exactly the same reason. When I arrive in Bkk regardless of time of day/night right after having shower I have obligatory stroll through Silom , Suriwong and Patpong. All look very different at dead of night, in the morning , during day and in the evening. With age I noticed I take discomfort of economy class better and better perhaps surprisingly but good for my pocket. Jet lags are what is killing me , particularly on return
  20. slowly but surely those hi-tech gizmos are replacing joy of travelling with convenience of getting from A to B most sterile way possible. Not saying that is wrong , just not the same. One of advantages of hiring guide we did not mention is that simply we have somebody to talk to and share impressions right away, the same like going to bar with somebody we can share our views on boys, 'look at his bulge", 'what you say about #12?" etc
  21. what about a little report ?
  22. we agree to totally disagree.Peace
  23. guy who sailed to India and landed in the Bahamas should not be authority in the navigation anyways. On serious note I think if somebody shows you way you will have trouble finding it again, if you navigate by yourself chances are you will not have problem finding it again
  24. for benefits of readers who were never in Bangkok it needs to be said that all three systems , MRT / underground / , BTS / overhead rail / and ACL / airport- city train / ale very well posted in English and are easy to navigate with one possible confusion: TICKETS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE, you need to buy separate ticket for each one at connecting stations /Makkasan, Phaya Thai, Silom /
  25. on long flights condition on arrival may more depend on one's ability to sleep on the plane than class traveled. I generally don't sleep on the plane but on few occasions when I did I was surprised by the difference.
