One of solution is to use somebody who is already there as intermediary who will hand money over and will get reimbursed or be given money in advance as those things are easier in our countries. Of course degree of trust is required.

government is working overtime to make entering Thailand easier and easier . What's next? proof of sufficient funds in cash, say 1000 baht per day of intended stay, to make things easy in 20 baht notes only ?

You are not stupid. You just want to help somebody who you feel deserved it. Whether you saw him 3 times or 333 , it's irrelevant. Don't overthink it , just send what you feel like. Your good karma will follow . In beginning of Covid, upon learning boy I met only once but was very impressed with, got stuck in his native Cambodia and took very low job , just to stay afloat, with help of forum friend I sent him some money. Boy barely remembered me if at all and yet, 2 years later when we met by chance in soi 4 he recognized me then, thanking me several times. Rest i.e. subsequent multiple offs is just a history

Technically you are right but that the way of thinking of people used to "first past the post " kind of elections you are used to. In countries with proportional representation , quite often there's no winner in that sense , winner is one who eventually get the top job. I was referring to that statement by Peter : "PS: I doubt if the Iranians hold much faith in free and fair elections. They will have noted that such a process elected Trump and Netanyahu! " Hindenburg giving him ( Adolf, not Peter ) Reichkanzler's job was acting by the book, as we learned later , bad book but still book.

this is what diasporas , safe in their countries of residence usually hope for . Somebody invades , regime changes and they hope locals will greet them with flowers which may, or , quite often, may not be a case.

good question. I have daily withdrawal limit set up by myself with my bank so not interested in higher amounts at current exchange rates

we even had reports earlier this year from member ( spoon ? ) who wanted just to off guy without even entering bar ( Jupiter ? ) and was told to pay equivalent of drink on top of the off fee

while you are right , main point is that lesson. Not everybody before going to other country spends time getting acquainted with local customs. I know they should , but they simply don't. Thus may not be familiar with goings in bar and massage places and won't be until somebody tells them. I'd say , at first place, it's mamasan's job. One doesn't need to go far to see difference. Many times I visited boys bars in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh and while my tips were always welcomed, perhaps even expected, at not time ever I felt I was pressured to provide one way it's done in , at least some, Thai bars . So person with Cambodian experience only may be one who is unwillingly stingy in Thai bar thinking that buying boy drink is generous enough. I don't even start with those coming from cultures where tipping is completely foreign concept.

most likely he is so opened because he knows you for so many years. My experience is that boys are extremely discreet when comes to other customers. Not sure if that's universal or they just think I'm not worthy such information but truth is I recall only one kind of specific comment made to me about other customer, who by the way was known to boy as my friend. And it was " your friend likes to fuck right away". Who is fucking whom I did not ask and to this day I don't know which side of divide my friend is. Boy is vers , so it could be either

this would conform what one of Tawan boys once told me " you would be surprised how many times guy is offing us only to drink and talk "

from my experience it's mostly 20000 but SOME Bangkok Bank machines are spiting out 25000. Warning - when I tried to take 24900 , just to get some change , message appeared " this machine allows withdrawal of 25 banknotes only . When I tried 21400 , it worked as intended

good people look good

was that my guy D ? If yes, he told me he is doing well as freelancer.

don't worry, you not alone. I overspend EVERY trip and yet, upon returning home , I think I could be more spendy so to speak. Long live Line of credit and ATM at Bangkok Bank building on corner of soi 3 spitting out up to 25000 in one go

preferential to whom ? In Middle East carved between Israel and Iran where one will see place for 300 millions of Arabs ? Will they prefer Israeli paradise or Iranian one ? What about Turkey, after all former master of most of Middle East and still formidable power . What makes you thinking that British forced partition is better than Israeli / Iranian forced unification? Israel's strength comes not from internal power although that is formidable. It's based on unwavering US support and division among their Arab neighbours. Neither fact is eternal. All it takes is US antisemitic president preoccupied with troubles at home or Latin America and at the some time some Arab unifier who manages to rise to prominence before is killed by Israelis and picture in the area may be changed . Atomic bomb if great deterrent but if , God forbid, would be used, retaliation will be much more devastating for country of 30000 sq. km than one 10 or 30 times bigger.
