  1. I read both other boards daily although decided to be active member of just this one due to self imposed limit of time spend on media. Funny thing to see is that sometimes certain issues are generating energetic discussion on one and almost none or even completely put aside on others. No particular logic or pattern to that , just random happenings. Other two boards are more Pattaya oriented than ours here. Bottom line - it's good to have options
  2. that's both good and bad news. I never dined there because in the past on two occasions when my party showed up at the door without reservation we were sent away as the place was full or fully booked
  3. probably not as is a case with most people and their tech gadgets
  4. apparently Apple is offering smart watch

  7. this makes me wanting to tell the story. Picture this , mid 80ties, China slowly opening to the world after years of isolation and still firmly Third World country . Overnight train from Lanzhou to Golmud. Despite of being well past midnight , very noisy, people talking loudly, loudspeaker broadcasting some radio program even louder. Inside , among sea of locals , me and my friends fascinated by the spectacle but also increasingly tired without chance of catching a sleep or at least nap . Then song started in the speaker and all of the sudden all becoming VERY quiet other than few people murmuring along. When it was over , mayhem resumed but we realized that we all independently had the same thought - there's some singer in China , outside world knows noting about and yet here there's billion of fans who stopped in their tracks to to hear her singing. There are thousands celebrities we in the West think whole world puts on pedestal high for all to see and yet majority of world including many well connected never heard about and never will, for whom Paris Hilton is just a name of hotel in French capital just for starters. In this forum probably only @Moses and me knows who Lyudmila Zykina was and yet , when she died, Russian government felt compelled to sent detachment of soldiers for her funeral to ensure such popular singer was sent off in well deserved style.
  8. Of course, it's just standing there and , when dusted off , looking pretty, all 32 inches of it. I don't have any cable nor Nextlix etc though which ensures backwardness I guess.
  9. and those who stay may chose to be much more discreet about their origins. I noticed on Grindr two guys whose profiles use to include small Cambodian flags, now replaced with Thai ones.
  10. oh boy, you must look ugly indeed
  11. who says that coffin must be opened and body beautified beyond recognition. My mother instructed us to keep casket closed and asked they one of us just check if that's her inside. ( we had neighbors who almost buried wrong person, also dead at least as their father, funeral home mixed up identical coffins).
  12. and you need to buy flowers or donate to deceased's favorite charity instead
  13. while at the same time lecturing North Koreans how shackled and stupid they are
  14. I can't agree more. Because document is outdated over years it become subject of judicial interpretations suiting often whatever prevailing mood or politcal situation was. Gay marriage under the same constitution slavery was ? Few founding fathers no doubt are spinning in their graves
  15. if they were just ordinary people , likely son would be locked down long ago . This is what I think. sitting on the fence comes from simple fact that first I heard about those people is in this thread

  20. I don't even think they are that rare when one considers tipping pattern as well as fact that often after the show bars are emptying quite fast
  21. I never used their services buy my friends did and they allowed to pay fee ( on top of tip of course) directly to the boy in the room when they explained they don't have Thai bank account
  22. there are two more
  23. no , quite far and on another side of river in northern part of Bangkok near Bang Bamru train station
  24. we agree here. Perhaps unknowingly though , he hinted that often we are unhappy because we can't afford buying stuff we really don't need. Walking by the store today I saw in the window beautiful shirt I loved but price was correspondingly high so I uttered quietly polite ' o fuck' to myself. Then I thought ' you idiot, you have 17 of them, what you need another one for in your age? and I smiled.
