Most gay Thai guys are not into Thai guys at all, only like Farang
anddy replied to abidismaili's topic in Gay Thailand
there are many of them, of course. fedssocr was right about the self-selecting sample. You don't meet them because they do not frequent any af the venues where the farang hang out, like the whole Silom gay scene. Start with the saunas: Babylon has a mix of Thais and farang, and both go there to find the other. Conversely, Sauna Mania and R3 are almost exclusively Thai (or other Asian), but you can count the farangs in attendance on one hand, if any. As for nightlife, there is a whole gay bar and club scene around Ratchada where the thai-loving Thais go and hardly any farang even knows that exists (as the original post seems to prove). So like this it becomes more accurate: most Thais WHO HANG OUT IN THE "FARANG AREAS" are not into Thai guys at all, only like Farang For the others there is the expression "sticky rice" which I'm sure you have heard before. -
Thanks Cedric, I am having a good time :) An thanks for the info about Wat Po, that's interesting. Unfortunately, it is far away from where I live, so unlikely I can make it my regluar massage place

that was clearly not a massage but a private sex session because he liked you a lot. The pricing structure is normally very clear. Good for you, though!!! Lots of fun as vinapu says. Are you still in Bangkok? Maybe I'd like to give you a massage too if you're that hot hahaha )))

or if you're in BKK, IKEA has a decent selection. I just bought one, too, coz the mattress in my condo is WAY too hard as well. I like hard mattresses, but this one made me wake up aching in the morning. The one I got was apparently last season's model or something, as it is not listed on Ikea's website and the price was reduced from 10,000 to 6000. Great purchase, I sleep so much better!

I would say the masseur clearly liked you A LOT. I've been there about 3 times and got nothing like that, very good massages every time, plus the organ 2. Only on the third occasion was there more to the whole thing as that masseur liked me quite a bit too (and vice versa)

I don't see any value in a limo service to/from BKK airport(s) with taxis being so cheap and just as well airconditioned. From Suvarnabhumi to SIlom the meter should run to no somewhere between 250-300, plus airport surcharge of 50, plus highway toll of 75 (25+50) for a total of around 400 as Moses correctly estimated. The only small obstacle might be to get the driver to turn on the meter. Though I have had drivers who wanted to negotiate a fixed price (usually 500-700) I never had trouble getting them to turn on the meter when I insisted on it. Just act like you not a novice tourist but know your way around (which is obviously true for the OP) and things will be fine. Drivers turning on the meter right away without even trying to negotiate a flat fare ususally get a tip from me.

they sell super cheap SIM card especially designed for tourists at the airport. Right as you get out of customs at Suvarnabhumi all 3 major operators (AIS, True, dtac) have shops. For a tourist, it probably doesn't mae much of a difference which ont ot choose. Dtac supposedly has less coverage upcountry, but that's just what I hear, not what I have experienced (I use AIS). These SIM card offer really good deals, and calling rates to Europe can be as low as 1 baht/minute. 3G internet is also included with various data packages available depending on your expected usage. I don't have a tourist SIM, but I pay-as-you-go for voice calls (from my prepaid credit) and a monthly internet package with 1.5GB of 3G data plus 3GB using AIS wifi hotspots (which I never use, because the 1.5GB is way enough for me).

exactly, you need a torrent client, and if you don't have one that is probably the exe Christian was talking about, i.e. an exe to instal such a client. I downlaoded it from youtube to watch later. Better download, you never know if in won't be taken down from youtube for copyright reasons....

all male or mixed - well both. It is for for both men and women, there in two completely separate areas. It is like two dirffernet places in one. So inside the Onsen it will be all male. Only in the public areas like the restaurant, where there is no nudity but weverone wears a bathrobe, will men and women mix. As for HE, I've not had a massage there, but from what I read there is strictly no HE there. But again, no personal experience with the massages, only the Onsen.

hmm if that's the case I guess I'll pass on that one, not a big fan of chain restaurants. I know I can get a good steak at Molly Malone's Irish pub on Convent, thought some variety won't hurt Will see and have look around there.... Thx chaotou.

On my last visit to Mango tree I think last November me and all of my friends found it wanting, not the the same quality and tastyness of the food as in the past. Which restaurant in Silom was that one for steak? If you don't know the name, maybe you can describe the exact location instead.

just scan the QR code above using the add friends function, that should do it. I I have not added a group like that before, I was oly added to a group by an existing member, so I'm not 100% sure, but that's how I would try

Interesting. I'd find it really inconvenient to carry cash. Also the need to plan ahead how much to take! But I see your point about the cost. Guess I'd be willing to bear that small additional cost in favor of the added convenience. But it is true, in my country there are cards available where you pay ZERO withrawal fees, worldwide (except, of course, those charged by third parties such as the local bank operating the ATM, i.e. the 180 baht you mention).

I always wonder why anyone is still exchanging cash (or maybe oldfashioned TCs). Why not use ATMs? Saves the need and risk to carry lots of cash and gets better exchange rate than cash which makes up for fees, if any (unless your card issuer charges outrageous fees, which might be possible especially in the US). So much more convenient. But speaking of currency exchange: for non-standard currencies, i.e. other Asian currencies BY FAR the best rates are at P&P Jewelery & Money Exchange at Siam Paragon (1st Floor, see www.ppparagon.com with daily updated rates). A while ago I had a somewhat sizeable amount in PHP (Philippine Peso) left over from a trip, and the regular exchange booths everywhere were paying just 50 or 55 Baht for 100 Pesos, when the interbank rate was more like 0.75, what a rip-off. At P&P I got 71, very fair. For bigger amounts they may even be worthwhile the trip to Siam Paragon for big currencies like USD. Currently they show a buying rate of 33.70 for $100 bills, better than the 33.37 quoted on the Bangkok Bank website. Anyway, just a tip since vinapu mentioned exchanging cash.

if you are missing email updates, they may have discontinued those and give updates through line now. Just checked the website and saw the advertisement for their line group. Some Spas/massage shops are giving regular staff updates through line now too, so try that.

Arom:D Spa in Silom (located at the Bandara Suites Hotel in Saladaeng Soi 1) offer some workshops, including for Thai massage of various lenths, from a 6 hour intro to a lengthy 3 level course totalling 150 hours. See http://sensestory.net/?page=services&category=76 They are not gay, though but supposed to be gay frinedly. Personally, I would expect strictly non-sexual, legitimate massage courses to be conducted on a same-gender basis so as to avoid any hint of sexual implications, but I have zero experience so this is just my personal guess. You can always ask them.

though maybe at BBB Inn that won't be such a big problem.... they also have the advantage that you rent rooms for short time (like 4 or 5 hours for 500 or 600 baht), which would be ideal for such a "project". Maybe vinapu can comment on that, as he likes to stay there. Besides, I'd volunteer to join the group of "donors", too hehe (for free obviously) ;-)

out of the country for another month....

Oh so you're back in BKK again already?!
