  1. you "heard", that's what usually happens with visa information in Thailand, a LOT of hearsay and no definitive information. The 4 times my be an issue if they are back to back, but if you apply for, say, 2 in a year then there shouldn't be a problem. But again, this is my opinion and also qualifies as hearsay. You will never get a definitive answer, even from Thai immigration officials (one may tell you this, another that, or they don't know, or or or). Find out by trying. As for pensioners, that's a separate issue and I have not heard of any issues with the retirement visa yet. Of course you have to be able show sufficient funds to qualify, so for people who don't have enough money it is an issue, but that's to be expected. On a more general note, though, I agree that their increasing strictness with foreigners is annoying and seems against their own interests.
  2. normal, "real" tourists are not affected at all, because they don't do visa runs.
  3. haha good luck then! Should be fine. Have fun, regardless of what kind of fun you choose :-) Not sure I'll have time to meet Looking forward to reports. Weather should be ok, the rain is supposed to continue through Friday, so weekend shouldn't be too bad
  4. that doesn't mean much as currency exchange rates fluctuale daily, sometimes wildly depending on the currency pair and market conditions USD/THB and EUR/THB over the last 12 months:
  5. just don't buy it from the street vendors, you never know what you get there. Available in genuine pharmacies.
  6. that's about the easiest thing imaginable in BKK. Depending on your age and looks you may not even have to pay, but pick up a nice guy in a bar of Silom Soi 4 or Soi 2 (incl. DJ Station) or one of the apps.
  7. nothing much new there. The most important assumption is not mentioned in that article, and that is that the whole thing, i.e. the coup and the tactics to delay an election are to have the military in power when the inevitable big event happens. Which in fact might just be a good idea.... who knows.
  8. for what it's worth in light of GB's very true words: I have a friend who takes Kamagra EVERY weekend, usually at least 2 pills. Not sure about his time spacing. He has no ill effects and he also asked his doctor, who said that's fine to do. But obviously that can be different for someone else, especially if you have heart issues. As for death's, I don't know those stories and their respective causes, but it is well known (at least everyone taking it SHOULD know) that you must not use poppers with it. Suggested "trick": take only half at night, then taking another after say 9 hours will only be 1 pill, which you would have taken anyway. For me personally, if and when I take a Kamagra, ALWAYS only half. Works perfectly fine I find. Kamagra costs 400 THB for a pack of 4 pills, readily available in pharmacies in BKK. I think 100b for a sachet of the gel.
  9. could you expand on that a bit? I'll fly business class to West Coast US at the end of next month through Tokyo, 3 legs on ANA, one on UA. Considered EVA as well, but took UA ticket as it was cheaper (UA ticket with 3 legs operated by ANA in code share). Welcome back in Thailand :-)
  10. thanks firecat for the detailed explanation, you're clearly a points-master ;-) I get air miles on my credit card expenses, too, but that doesn't amount to the hundreds of thousands. You are right that sign-up bonuses (awarded for essentially nothing) are particularly lucrative. On occasion I'd do something like that for a small-ish bonus, but otherwise I guess I'm kinda too lazy to play that game to the extent you successfully do. Compliments :-)
  11. wow I'm genuinely impressed firecat (this is not to take up the "impressed" discussion, don't get that wrong), you must have travelled a LOT and for a LONG time (in economy I surmise) to get THAT many miles. A long haul business class ticket costs well over 100k miles (to SE-Asia from US or Europe), so you obviously have a lot. I accumulate miles, too, and use them for that exact purpose, i.e. business class for long haul, but I'm far from having enough to last for years as you say. And that's despite the fact that sometimes I buy business or even (cheap-ish) first class tickets, which give 2 or 3 times the miles. Can you give an indication how you got that many? That's a valid point too, so saving up for TOO long may be counterproductive.
  12. that's what doctors or STD-health promotions propagate, but that's about the most unappealing thing ever. Has anyone done that and gotten any enjoyment out of it??? If that's the alternative I'd rather not do it at all if I was too concerned about whatever infection. Besides, if you get a Syphilis, big deal, easily treated and cured. The same goes for other STDs, for others obviously not, I'm aware of that. BUT there is NEVER 100% safety and thus no risk no fun. So boils down to an evaluation of the risks and the potential damage. Each has to make his own.
  13. Took Lae Dee should be the one in Foodland, never seen any other place of that name which struck me as kinda funny when I happened to go there for the first (and likely last) time recently. Translates to "cheap but good". Didn't find it that good though
  14. a maybe rather technical question to firecat, but possibly relevant to his arguments, which I completely understand: There are at least 3 ways to arrive at a pre-agreed tip of 800: 1. Boy asks 1000, but customer counter-offers 800 and boy accepts 2. Customer offers 800 and boy accepts 3. Boy asks 800 from the outset I understand you find 1 and 2 not acceptable for the reasons you well explained. But what to do in case 3? Still pay 1000 later irrespective of service or stick with the pre-agreed 800 if service was so-so and maybe only 1000 if service was particularly good? Note: TD has not mentioned how his agreement of 800 came about.
  15. yes Ari is correct. Mine was near BTS Ratchathewi, though
  16. Nantra has windowless rooms, too, was just in one a couple of weeks ago where a friend stayed. That was a "single" room (though the bed was about 140cm wide, enough for 2), so not sure if single/double determines window/no-window or simply the location within the building. In addition to the lack of a window I found the room VERY small indeed. OK for a single traveller on a budget and if you don't need space, but I prefer roomier rooms. Nicer to have guests, too ;-) As for Raya, that's quite new and at night impresses with a fancy, LED-lit facade, too (not that that is a selection criterion).
  17. honestly, I don't trust the reviews on travelgayasia too much. While there are positive ones, I have a feeling people who had negative experiences (in their own perception) tend to be more likely to post a review there. The orgy parties at R3 definitely DO have models, and they DO end in a circle j/o. The presence of the models is the whole point and concept of the orgy parties. Been there maybe 5 times and the end was always the circle j/o. Obviously, no such thing at other, regular nights there. Having said that, the clientele on all my visits has been mostly Asians into Asians, few interested in farangs, so can be difficult to get any action. Not many farang go, maybe as a result of that. At the orgy parties I was to the maximum was maybe 4 farangs including myself of a total of up to 100 Asian guests. What the percentage of Thais vs Asian visitors from neighboring countries is is of course impossible to tell.
  18. yes some offer their services on romeo or the usual apps hornet, grindr, jack'd. Have tried that I think once last year, was OK but nothing special either. Often, they will ask to come to your place as they may not have a suitable room to host or too far away. I went to his which I prefer, was fine. If and when I want a good massage (with or without optional extras) I rather go to a shop where I know what I get, though.
  19. a comment on the possible usefulness of Viagra/Kamagra: in and of itself it desn't give anyone an erection. You ALWAYS need sexual arousal, then the pill will enable an erection for people who otherwise cannot for physical reasons (that's what it was invented for in the first place) or enhance "normal" erections and make it easier to get ans stay hard. But the important thing is, no arousal, no erection. So if that's his issue, pills won't help at all. As for the bottoming discussion: it can be an acquired taste for sure ;-)
  20. Glitz is actually closer to Soi Twilight as it is right on Surawong. Have only been in a room at Dvaree Diva once for a brief visit, if I remember correctly I thought it was ok but not great. Guess best to check reviews and pictures on tripadvisor
  21. to add to the location description: it is on the corner of the entrance to the subsoi where G.O.D. gay night club as well as Menfactory sauna are located, not far from Silom Soi 2. 2 shops down there is a fairly big Boots pharmacy that's open 24 hours. Yes there are 2 massage shops in the back of that subsoi and indeed their staff are very active in handing their price list flyers to passers by. Both male and female, but the ratio varies lol. Quite some good looking boys, I've been eagerly approached by many cuties there, most recently last night ;-) Had massages there twice, some some time ago (last year) and both times hand job was given with no need for persuasion lol
  22. massage rooms are private, so nothing to worry about
  23. one can easily buy everything in Thailand anyway. Unnecessary extra baggage.... interesting, never heard about the feeling the need to shit before. Goes to show everyone is indeed very different! Yes, bottoms seem to be wired differently, no such feeling at all. There are actually 2 pleasure spots when fucked, one is the anus itself, same area experiencing pleasure when rimmed (out of interest in this context: you like to be rimmed, abidismaili?) and the prostrate.
  24. well Surin beach where I've been a few years ago is nice and quiet, as are presumably other beaches between the airport and Patong (and those south of Pating I guess). I suspect you stay in Patog, though, so either no quiet beach for you or a day trip to another beach.
  25. I believe we are already in contact, right?
