  1. and you say your reports are dry? Maybe your have a dry humor, but that doesn't make the reports dry, quite the opposite! As always great fun to read, and even though you have explained it to me in person and again here in this thread I still marvel at your energy... wish I had a fraction of it. Hopefully we can meet up again next trip!
  2. given your hotel hopping and praise for the Classroom I looked it up on booking.com and yes, it looks ok, BUT the - uhm - artwork on the wall is a bit questionable for our tastes haha ;-)
  3. sounds all very plausible, thanks :-)
  4. uhm, maybe it's just due to one of the frequent and unpredictable mood swings of the BiB?
  5. that suggests you took it on an empty stomach. You must not do that. Take it after a meal and you will feel no such side effects. as for being safe. yes if you're on PREP bareback is actually safe - safe for HIV and HIV ONLY, not for any other STI's obviously as forky123 pointed out correctly. good source for PrEP and related info in Bangkok: www.pulse-clinic.com

    My June trip

FYI: there is a new male waxing shop in Silom Plaza (where Arena is) on the ground floor, right hand side, called WAXLAVA (www.waxlava.com). Unfortunately they don't have price list online, so I went today to inquire. Quite expensive relative to my usual place (Up 2 Salon in Charn Issara Tower), so not sure I'll try them... upper back and shoulder area 600/800/1200/1900 lower back 500/700/800/1700 whole back 900/1200/1500/2900 Brazilian - / - / 1800/2000 Hollywood - / - / 2000/2200 the different prices are for the different types of wax they are offering: Strip Wax (cold) / Soft Wax (cold) / Silky Wax (hot) / Lava Wax (hot, no cloth)
  7. I just happened to be in Patpong2 to look for some other music night club (which I couldn't find), and saw that Fresh Boys relocated to there. They are on the second floor above Screw Boys now. Also, there is another presumably new bar calles Tokyo Boy next to Screw Boys. I asked the cute Fresh Boys tout about the relocation and the Soi Twilight closure, and he and another lady apparently in the know said another 3 months. [i tried to attach a picture of the new Fresh Boys, but I got this: "Error The server returned an error during upload]

  9. asked the owner last week, he said closed 1 month. I didn't ask any further, but I presume 1 month from the date of the raid
  10. R3 website seems down as of right now...
  11. the prep drug (Truvada or it's generics) was and still is a treatment drug until it was discovered that it is also effective as a prevention drug. As a treatment drug, Truvada (which itself consists of 2 different drugs combined in one pill) always needs to be taken together with some other, single-agent pill, making it a 3-ingredient cocktail.
  12. no water in Soi 4? So lame and boring, like DivineMadman said it was the gay Songkran hotspot and great fun if you let your hair down and partake in it. Oh well, I'm not in town anyway, escaping to Bali and Lombok for 2 weeks instead
  13. Silom PULSE Clinic should be able to give good advice and counselling as well (and of course medical services & treatment) www.silompulse.com It has opened only 2 or 3 years ago but has been hugely successful and is ever expanding. Recommended.
  14. to add to the shops not mentioned in DM's blog (which of course is not a criticism as he doesn't claim or imply to be complete, actually explicitly says he is not): - there is a new shop on Silom Soi 4, on the right hand side not far in, I think right before G's - there's a plethora of shops on Surawong going from Patpong towards Soi Tarntawan (where Tawan is and which later becomes Silom Soi 6), including a branch of The Green which has a second branch on Silom Soi 6. Also, there are 2 branches of multi-branch shop "Art Massage", which has another one on Silom around the corner from Soi 4 (if I recall correctly) - Silom Soi 6 has The Green as well as The Paradise, the latter being really gay, so to speak, though it's not a full-service gay-gay shop, more a legit shop with, uhm, emphasis on more, i.e. here I think you can safely expect a HE. Opposite The Paradise is Busaba, not gay and very mixed with many female staff but some male, too. That shop had ever been on my radar, but tried it a couple of months ago after meeting one of their male staff in Silom, both of us on our way home (me from clubbing, he from work) and saying I'd come for a massage. Well, I tried the following Monday, but he hadn't shown up for work. So the lady manager suggested another guy, coz also young. He had a unique massage style and also a unique and very enjoyable HJ style, so I ended up getting him again by booking him in advance. So far have failed to get the boy met in the street lol, but will keep trying - and of course on SIlom between Soi 4 and Soi 2 there are soooo many more shops..... But aiming for completeness in listing, let alone reviewing, all massage shops of interest to readers here is, of course, a futile endeavour lol
  15. totally agree on your expectation management. As for Prime and Thai massage, I guess I should try that there a few times to see what you mean, I usually go for a good oil massage which I find consistently good and often better than at other places. Whereas you "think they are basically par with lots of places for that in and out of Thailand" - that's interesting and given all you massage expertise I do give such statements credit. So maybe it's another case of parallel universes (as per your blog) I guess haha You are right about the "generous tips" encouraged on Spa Bangkok website, though I do remember for sure that in a previous incarnation of the same site they actually quoted 500, though kinda hidden somewhere in a section called "spa etiquette" which they now don't have anymore
  16. great collection of info, thanks! Funnily, int the entry ion "The Best massage" you fell into the same trap you just warned readers about just a couple of lines above: No it's not, it is Silom PLAZA, not Complex, as you pointed out for Arena: As for The Prime, that is also one one of my favorite places for a no quality massage. Three comments on your comments: - you say "Don't expect any hanky-pannky". Well that's true and it is not. Presumably more so for Thai massage than oil massage obviously, but in oil massages it CAN happen, but as you say one should not EXPECT it. Very dependent on the guy. Interestingly though, my number one favorite guy for a sensual massage used to work there (has left mid-2017, haven't had a chance to find out where he went). The whole (oil) massage experience was particularly sensual and arousing, followed by an excellent HJ. - you say not a place for oil massage. If oil massage is supposed to imply hanky-panky as par for the course, then that's true (see above). However, I do go there for the best non-erotic oil massage I can get in BKK. I have a regular there for that, been seeing him for a few years now, always booking him in advance when my back is especially tense and in serious need of a serious loosening of all those knots. He does it really strong and with lots of elbow use if, where, and when needed. I like that maximum pressure elbow use because it really get the job done, though I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I always doe 1.5 hour oil with him, and never tip him less than 500 (no hanky panky, though it actually has happened with him too, but most of the time I don't even want it). For my last massage a week or two ago I gave him 1000, because my back was so bad and he did such a great job loosening it up (well a little new year's generosity thrown in as well). He was even aching after almost an hour of really really hard work on my back alone lol. Interestingly, I have booked him for a Thai massage once but found he wasn't as good at it as at oil massage - Regarding tip: the price chart as the front does actually asks to not tip less than 100 Baht, which I find a very reasonable request given the quality of the massages. Another piece of info on tips: one of the guys at Spa Bangkok, who took a liking in me and went for dinner (and then home, but not for money) with me after a massage, told me that they get absolutely NOTHING there from the shop, no daily minimum salary, and not even a cut from the passage price that goes to the shop. They rely on the tips exclusively. Don't know if and to what extent that is true at other places. Was going to ask my regular at Prime at some point about that.
  17. I was at the White Party last year, with numazu in fact. While it was all good and fun, I wasn't really surprised to realize it wasn't really my thing. While I do like to party and have partied quite a lot and sometimes very heavily in the past 20 years and therefore never feel out of place at a party (unless it were a hip hop party, where I would die from the music lol), I kinda DID feel out of place at the White Party. But not for age reasons, but for being a farang lol. My rough guesstimate was there were probably 60-70% Chinese, 20% Thai, 10% other Asian nationalities, and a maximum of 5% farang. Another major reason was the music, I just don't like all that EDM crap, I'm into "real" (so to speak) Techno music which I've become ever more picky about over the years. That's a matter of taste of course, and I can see people having lots of fun with the music there, it is very danceable after alll. Another annoyance were the Chinese (many of them fat and out of shape, it's not like 100% of guys there are muscle gods lol) who liked to dance linked up to, for lack of a better expression, "trains" of 5, 6 7 guys and swaying heavily right and left. Couldn't dance in peace with such a "train" nearby - problem as finding a spot without one near, very difficult. So I decided not to go this year, though I was asked to. You have fun and please do report how everything was!!
  18. nice report, have seen this shop on travelgayasia for the longest time and it always seemed nice and classy. So that's confirmed now. Also, I was never sure exactly what type of shop it is - nominally legit but with extras possible, or a full service one. Appears to be the latter. As for tips, what are the definitions of "regular" (600) and "special" (1000) here? Does "regular" include a HJ, whereas special is full anal? Or does HJ already qualify as "special", so that "regular" involves nothing extra?

    Michelin star

yes they started doing that because they got 4.5m Euros from the TAT for doing so for the next 5 years. Dunno if that has any repercussions for the quality of their ratings, just saying....

    Soda

I'm in Laos right now.... lol - but unfortunately don't know any of those guys
  21. yes it looks crazy right now, but so did it when it rose from $5 to $500, then on to 1000, 3000, 5000, .... as for you are wrong about that. Bitcoin DO get stolen, and lost in other strange ways, like crashes of exchanges, which are a rather frequent occurrence. A friend of mine lost 1000 bitcoin in one such crash several years ago (when they weren'n worth THAT much, but still a meaningful value even back then). They're only virtual after all. Latest theft story just today: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-42275523
  22. I find it kinda odd too, to have a "pride parade" behind closed doors (which essentially the inside of a stadium is). What's the point of such a parade? Well, if it's just a fun sports or whatever event, so be it. Good point about the olympics haha!
  23. any OTHER crematorium yes, shouldn't be on the agenda. But this crematorium is not ANY crematorium, but THIS crematorium and a sight to behold. Thai arts at their finest. It's beauty and grace are absolutely stunning, probably better than anything inside the Grand Palace. As fedssocr points out, an especially marvelous sight when lit up at night. Highly recommended, in fact at this time THE number one on any touristy agenda outside boy fun.
  24. I would side with vinapu saying that the experience of one off with one boy can be just a one-off, so to speak. To extrapolate from that one case to a general scam between the bar and all boys there is flatly absurd. Even this boy in question may not be to blame as much, maybe, just MAYBE, there was something about the customer he found out in the room and that he thoroughly disliked and therefore didn't perform. By definition, we only ever hear one side of the story here. No fair judgment can be made without hearing both sides, that is a general rule in life. This is in no way saying jones said anything untrue, just there is another side to the story. Apart from such general considerations, more specifically I can report that I offed a boy from there maybe about a month ago. He was very cute (for me, as always cuteness is in the eye of the beholder), kinda darker skinned boy who turned out to be Cambodian. Had grown up in Thailand with his parents since age 3 though, so spoke Thai fluently (and better than Khmer he said). Got to the room, plenty of kissing (which I had asked before, so promise fulfilled) and already hard when it came to undressing. Things were going well, so I already considered a 2k tip. Only small let down came when he watched porn on his phone while fucking me. I believe it was gay porn, but not 100% and didn't want to check lol. Overall, I was very satisfied, but porn-watching led to a tip of only 1.5k, which were happily accepted (wasn't discussed before). Mamasan was friendly as always. So bottom line is: I had a good experience, jones a bad one, which can be extrapolated to the bar as a whole? Answer: neither. As numazu used to put it: YMMV - your mileage may vary
  25. you mean "definitely", not "defiantly" (which is something different altogether). sorry if this sounds smartass lol, so / smartass mode off / sure is, thanks for sharing this info, as well as on the other sauna von non-paid fun. Both IS good to know. Having said all that, BKK is still the best city in the world (BCN comes 2nd). I was just writing about Thermas cause I think it is something worth knowing.
