I understand the reluctance to pay that insane entry fee, BUT: getting a MB for that is beside the point... apples and oranges. You get a TOTALLY different experience at the o-party. MB is just the usual 1-on-1, the o-party is the o-party as described by @Bravo. I've been to it several times (both at R3 (in it's first incarnation) and Sauna Mania) and you REALLY can't compare it to 1-on-1 sex, not even to a "normal" sauna visit. Tip: I don't know how old you are and look and if you could get away with pretending to be under 50. A good way to try is to have the exact entry fee of 350 ready and put it on the counter matter-of-factly, no even glancing at the sign board with the prices at all. If you look credibly in the maybe below-50 range chances are the clerk will just accept the money and let you in. Of course our own perception of our look may not be the best guide as we have a different perception of ourselves, just as always perceive the Thais as younger than they really are LOL. Worth a try though. Never try never know.

from you profile pic (if that's you) your body looks perfectly fine, no skinnier than many of the the gogo boys for sure. And if you were to go on stage at Hotmale, well of course you'd be laughed at, but not for being skinny but for the audacity to do it and make for a VERY fun experience for the audience, as happened with those Japanese... It'd be an appreciative laugh for sure

I heard that The Green Massage in Silom Soi 6 (presumably also the main branch on Surawong, but not sure) is now called The Star Massage. Since I am out of the country can't go to confirm or see if there is any material change to the shop(s).

no inaccuracies, just a misunderstanding on your part: "red" not as in socialist red, but in red shirts. The Thaksin side of politics was and is associated with the "red shirts", hence the "red government". Thaksin and his political outfits and proxies, are VERY obviously VERY much hated by the elite establishments and especially the military (=coup and current government), for the very reasons you pointed out. That's what I meant, the policy of curfews was one of the Thaksin (red) governments, so should be easy to undo by the current government as it wouldn't entail a loss of face or other embarrassment for the current government as it was policies of the evil one.
-
Now that would for once be a GREAT achievement to undo this stupid, idiotic restriction. Should be easy to do as it originates form the much-hated red government...

In May or June there was one otherwise VERY well built and attractive boy with a silicone dick working at Lucky Boys and part of the big cock show. I remember pointing that sad deformation fact out to the mamasan, who seemed to agree with my assessment.

So you had no less then THREE guys in one day, and you did cum all three times, right? So enviable!!! I can't do it twice in the same day day lol Thanks for the great reports, very engaging

Wow, you ARE an avid walker then, no denying it lol. As for your average bar boy not not doing that, let me venture to say that your average (sex) tourist would not either. As for weight and shape: it is YOU who beats me by a million miles in that department. I do ZERO sports and exercise, yet presumably due to lucky genes I have the luxury of not having to while still having a lean skinny body.

"what is the situation" is a rather general question. The general answer to that is, that it's business as usual for Bali (been in April and many times before), meaning everything is freely and openly available: free sex and paid sex (via the apps or hookups in the bars); "regular" massages and m2m massages (both via the apps or in many (male) massage shops; gay bars (regular bars, not gogo bars), even a sauna (with attached massage shop) in Seminyak which i found really nice last year (also in April). Tip for transportation: you can either rent a motorbike (scooter) for 50k Rupiah a day or use Grab and/or GoJek for motorbike taxis, which are readily available everywhere on those two apps and incredibly cheap

With all due respect @z909, you would WALK???? That's crazy (but then maybe you are that crazy when it comes to walking such distances haha ). No seriously, that is not walking distance, it is 5 km from Tawan to that hotel and a ONE HOUR WALK according to google maps, so walking is clearly not advisable, especially to a first time visitor. And especially after a bar visit with an off, who would want to walk for ONE HOUR before getting to the room???? So, @BKKtourist88, Taxi is the one and only viable option, and dirt cheap at that, even if the newbie gets ripped off with a 200 Baht fare as opposed to max 100 on the meter that's still nothing by western standards.

Hi and welcome. I dunno about Mr Fluke (not my type lol), so I'll leave that to ohers to answer.... If you click on FORUMS at the top, you get the list of sub-forums (some of which in turn have sub-sub-forums). There is one called "Photos", should be easy to find, or else: https://www.gayguides.com/forums/forum/41-photos/

That hotel is really quite far, I'd advise you to cancel the booking and find a new one in the Silom/Surawong area - IF you can cancel. If not it won't be the end of the world. Being in Nana, I'm pretty sure joiners won't be a problem, though I have zero actual experience of other first or even second hand knowledge about this hotel. If you're stuck there the short time hotel option may be a good solution, too. There are indeed two very close to Tawan: The Surawong (or Suriwongse, spelling may vary) Hotel https://goo.gl/maps/cWXJoyjwjjfMaRTN9 The BBB Inn https://goo.gl/maps/YhV6NMGFPP2bi4Lh9 Both offer short time (about 4 hours I believe) rooms for about 500 baht.

Le Siam should be well known to many here, it is the former Swiss Lodge on Convent / corner of Saladaeng Soi 2 (where there was a large 7/11 on the other corner, now a construction site) The Siam on the river, not too far from former Dusit Zoo, is a VERY nice, very expensive 5-star Hotel with some exquisite artwork and antiques in the lobby areas. Been there a couple of times for afternoon tea.

in some Thai media there are already reports putting the blame on the "reds", the craftsmanship of the devices supposedly being similar to those involved in incidents in 2006

you may want to hire a guide from www.siamroads.com. They are gay, knowledgable and professional and they come highly recommended by members of this forum who have used them (including me for Bali). I have hired a gay guide (through a different service, siamroads didn't exist then) in Bangkok on my very first trip there in 2000 and was glad I did. You should do that early on because one of the benefits is he will take you on all sorts of local transport so you get the hang of those quickly as well (such as the river taxis and ferries). If you want to do this I'd recommend to book ASAP as they tend to be booked well in advance.

Yes of course the BKK system (or lack of it lol) is WAAAYYYY behind other major cities for not having a single card for all public transport options. As @z909 points out, in some places even these single cards are now redundant through contactless bank card payment, e.g. in Singapore (if you have a local bank account, not sure it works with foreign cards). The indeed impressive PASMO card in Japan actually doesn't only work for the greater Tokyo area but even in Osaka and Kyoto and Odawara/Hakone, so I am guessing maybe even nationwide. I've used it in those places so can tell for sure only for those. Anyway, back to BKK: I would totally get a Rabbit card to avoid the sometimes horrendous queueing at the BTS station, often TWICE for change AND then the machines (which is in itself an absurd system). What's to lose? The fee for the card itself is negligible and WELL worth given the avoided queueing hassles. Discounted daily cards may be nice, but require advance knowledge of your travel plans to know if it's worth or not AND need to be purchased every day anew (I believe?). With the Rabbit you're good to go at all times and can reload the card with an appropriate credit whenever there are no queues. No discount on rides, but MAJOR discount on hassle!
-
If you were a TRULY avid user of the BTS, you wouldn't need those coins because you'd have a rabbit card
-
Well, I live in BKK and would be happy to take you around, including all the other gay options outside the gogo bars, like Silom Soi 4 and DJ Station and G.O.D..... Alas, I'm not there now and not back until Sept. 20th, with the possibility of that date being pushed back even further by some days. So looks like you'll have to explore at least the first 3 weeks on your own or with the help of some other member here. But I'm sure you'll manage haha. Besides, as Boy69 pointed out, at your age free sex should be available to you any time unless, how should I phrase it, your body type is a potential obstacle. but then again, even if you are drop-dead gorgeous, there is nothing wrong to off boys from the bars if that gives you a thrill. Esteemed forum member numazu falls in that category of young-and-easy-to-hook-up-but-still-offing-boys-kind-of-guy, for example.

certainly true in Thailand (relevant to this forum and thread) but just for completeness I want to point out that it is NOT true in Sweden. many places there do not accept cash anymore at all. That includes restaurants and bars!
-
wow great would totally do that too... guess I'll have to start frequenting Starbucks Surawong, as reader suggests!
-
yes google it is... The Thai word used here is แฟน or fan (like football fan, not a ventilator lol) which does mean girlfriend AND/OR boyfriend but has no gender so you need context to work out which. So it's similar to the genderless "lover" or even "spouse" in English.

it doesn't. Do you really think someone enters all those thousands upon thousands of hardly legible hand written addresses from the TM6 cards into a computer? Not happening. I know (or inferred) this because once when I did my annual extension, the system still showed my address from over 1 year prior, even though I had given them the new one on prior year's extension, so even that didn't end up in the system. Plus since that 1+ year I had traveled out and into the country many many times and duly put the new address into all the TM6's. Didn't make it into their system either. yes, but that's YOUR thing, the TM30 is the landlords obligation (first and foremost). If you are your own landlord (i.e. own the place) I have no idea what the deal is, if TM30 even applies.... I agree in all those stupid rules making life unnecessarily difficult for the law abiding people like us....
-
wow @DivineMadman considering these things don't concern you much as you say you have exquisitely intricate knowledge of the finer details of both TM47 and TM30 reportings! As for TM30 being enforced and asked about when doing other things such as extensions, my experience doesn't confirm that. Given the hyper hype on Thaivisa about this I prodded my landlord to do it before I did my extension beginning of May. Landlord got the registration done and then gave me the online login details to do it myself. The registration process hadn't been completed by the time of my extension, but at least it had been kicked off, so that was something I could say if asked about it. 30-However, no-one asked, mentioned or even hinted at anything TM30-related (to my relief). The whole extension plus re-entry process was business as usual. Likewise, no-one even remotely alluded to the alleged new maintain-800k-Baht-after-extension rule, also published to much fanfare and hyperventilation on Thaivisa. I still fully intended to do the TM30 online for myself, but still havent' done it LOL. As for TM47 or 90-day reporting, I've only ever done that once, in person at Chaengwattana. Supposedly, the online one was only available after you had done one old fashioned paper one. That was about 4 years ago. Ever since, I've always happened to travel out of the country well before the 90 days. Here is a related side story of non-sensical Thai immigration rules: if you need a residence certificate (for getting a drivers licence, for example) you can only get that if you have completed a 90 day reporting prior to applying for the residence certificate (how long prior is not clear though, a couple of years back wasn't accepted, so seems to have to be current). That makes no sense whatsoever. I reside in Thailand regardless of how long I stay there consecutively. If I happen to abroad for a couple of days every couple of months, say, I am still a resident in the same way as if I didn't travel, or in the same way a Thai national OBVIOUSLY would be considered a Thai resident even if traveling that often (or more). This was a problem I once had, but - uhm - there was a "creative solution" involving some extra "fee". Still cheaper than getting the obnoxiously expensive residence certificate from my embassy.

Thai English - favourite Tinglish words and expressions
anddy replied to joshhb's topic in Gay Thailand
that's what I thought too, but can't think of a Thai word that would mean luxurious but also translate to costly/expensive. But then my Thai vocabulary isn't THAT extensive to cover all the possible unusual words there might be for this. A google translate from "costly" to Thai didn't turn up anything plausible either. -
Thai English - favourite Tinglish words and expressions

I can't figre out what they actually mean to say. The Thai writing doesn't explain it as it is just a transliteration of the English words into Thai. Is it supposed to be "cosy place"?
