I don't know what this is all about, my tap water is as clear and non-stinky as ever. However, I also use bottled water to make coffee (or tea), because I don't fully trust the tap water, both in terms of possible pollutants as well as, importantly, the taste of my coffee. I couldn't care less about this Greta.... luckily she is a complete non-event here.

Yup to my surprise I did enjoy the two WP party nights I happened to be dragged to by a friend. The opening night on Friday and the actual White Party on the 30th. It wasn't like I remembered from about 3 years ago, when there seemed to be way too many swaying Chinese "bear trains", making normal dancing impossible. Also, the music seemed better this time around. And you are right about the eye candy guys, those guys...! Sooooo many sooooo attractive and sexy guys! In Silom, there are plenty of VERY attractive and often skimpily-clad guys to ogle at, I'd say they WAY outweigh the few ugly tourists. Unfortunately, they banned all water in Soi 4. Before, it was a packed WET mayhem, with lots (and I mean LOTS) of groping going on. Not for the fainthearted who don't like crowds as it was like sardines in a can. Not sure how it is nowadays in Soi 4. But you can always steer clear fo Soi 4 if it is too packed. Plenty of eye candy on the main road.

The decision to go to Banana Room Club (the official name) came as neither @z909 nor myself had ever been, so why not have a first look. A couple of minor corrections to @jason1975 post: 1. I did attempt to count the boys and there were well over 20, just due to their movements (as mentioned by @DivineMadman) an exact count was impossible. There were only maybe a dozen or so on stage at any given time, the others were mostly sitting on the left or floating around the bar. 2. the drinks were only 350, not 400 As for the boys, there was quite a variety actually. Yes they had twinks, indeed quite a bunch of super-twinks (i.e. super skinny, very much to @z909's liking, I rather disprespectfully but tounge in cheek call them "skeletons"), but also some beefy ones and some rougher (but not too much) looking ones. Some transplants from X-Boys Soi Twilight, such as a beefy Vietnamese guy and a rather old tall guy who used to do fucking shows there for ages. A Myanmar guy with a pretty good body and big dig seemed most appealing to me. Mamasan recommended him too, citing good personality (and of course the big dick, which was later evident in the show). Speaking of mamasan, I very much enjoyed talking and flirting with the cute young mamasan. Told him, if I were to off anyone from the bar (wasn't in the mood though) it would be him, though he indicated that's not possible. Also, his very reason for being mamasan (since 3 months he said) is in order to NOT go with customers anymore. He was a floor boy at Jupiter (!) before and then found himself a boyfriend who doesn't want him to do that anymore. Fun guy to chat with and cute face, which is always my number one criterion for offing. As for the show, I have to agree with both other gentlemen about the sound level, especially in one ladyboy number the singing was so piercing we had to cover our ears really hard. @z909 was suffering visibly. The second ladyboy number wasn't so bad actually as she was accompanied by two almost naked dancers sporting sizable hard ons (unfortunately with condoms). The third (and our last before we left) ladyboy number also had a well build dancer with her in a too-small black slip, revealing much of his big hard dick (with no condom yay!) - it was the Myanmar boy mentioned earlier. Considering how easily and widely available poppers is, I suspect (but do not know for a fact) that it's illegality is not the same as "real" drugs. Illegal is not the same as illegal... This requires and warrants some more research for the so inclined. You could also just put it in some other (cosmetics) bottle to disguise it and prevent it from being found by a superficial search at customs (I've NEVER been stopped and searched at Thai customs though) You didn't have to tell them that you brought it in, just say you bought it at a sauna in BKK which is perfectly plausible.

there are plenty of gay bars: Connection, Stranger, Telephone, balcony, Bas, all in Silom Soi 4, as well as all of Silom Soi 2. However, there are no boys for hire at those bars. In boys-for-hire-bars (aka host bars and gogo bars) there is indeed no such thing as a strictly gay one.

Auntie bar? No need to go there! You can go to Red Dragon Bar, which is underneath (and managed by) Freshboys, directly in front of Screwboys. No aunties there, cute and friendly bartender, and sometimes Freshboys waiters and grabbers there for additional entertainment.

I second numazu's recommendation. Advantage: it's a gay shop. I just went a couple of days ago and got whole back, stomach and armpits for 500 baht, though the previous time a month or so ago they charged 800 for the same (the hair may have been longer and therefore looked more than last time). The Burmese guy that used to work at my previous go-to place Up2 Hair Salon (now closed) has recently started at Cutey&Beautey, too. But this last time I got another guy assigned to me and he wasn't as thorough as the Burmese one used to be at Up2. Next time I will make an advance reservation with the Burmese. His name is Yee. There is also WaxLava on the ground floor of Silom Plaza (where Arena massage is; not to be confused with Silom Complex), which is men only. They are more expensive, so I haven't tried them, but they offer a wide range of different types of wax for different body areas. some comments: - the new banknotes are rather impractical to use when you're using a regular men's wallet (not an issue for @vinapu obviously haha), because they don't have the value printed on the top right like the old ones as can be seen in the comparison pic you posted. That means in a dark bar or club it can be difficult to discern the bills' values by just glancing inside your wallet. Need to take them out completely to be able to see the number on the bottom right. Not a practical design, which is why I dislike the new bills. - a minor factual correction: Soi Twilight wasn't a cul-de-sac. It felt like one because no-one really ever made it past Classic Boys, but from there you could turn right and exit the soi to Rama 4. Silom Soi 4, however, really is a cul-de-sac. - Awww you are being harsh with the Hot Male boy. From the report is was clear you had an excellent time with him (prompting you to go back for his Line) and jsut this minor oversight of exchanging Line gives him the "worst BFE" award? well he had said on Dec. 7th that he had booked 3 nights in Silom, so his time in BKK was short. I've been in touch with him, though we didn't manage to meet. He has since traveled elsewhere on his lengthy trip.
