  1. For information only: the front desk clerk was asking for a guest registration fee of $50 (yes, dollars) all in the name of "hotel security" of course. I am wondering if the concern is really for security or just another way to get money. This information is just for laughts and NOT FOR COMMENTS .
  2. To clarify; when the guy and I initially arrived at the hotel together, we BOTH registered at the front desk. We reveived 2 keys, one key for each of us. Like many hotels, after you enter the room, one key is placed into a slot to activate the electricity. We left the hotel together and went to eat; taking only one key with us. The other key was still in the hotel room in the slot for electricity. I returned to the hotel alone with the one key. Later when he returned to the hotel, he did not have the second key because the key was still in the hotel room. As he approached the hotel elevator, the hotel doorman, who was standing inside the hotel, stopped my friend, questioned him and directed him to the front deck located directly in front of the elevators. Since there appears to be some confusion with my choice of words, I will rephrase my comment made on the original post. The hotel staff appears to treat gay guests registered at the hotel DIFFERENTLY from registeted guests who may not be gay. I am not looking for my posts to be analyzed one way or another, I am ONLY asking for any suggestions on gay friendly hotels in Rio. If anyone is confused about my request, just ignore it. But if you has a suggestion for a gay friendly hotel, please share the information. Also I am familiar with the Atlantico hotel and not interested in Airbnb. I hope this additional information will help.
  3. Aside from the very old and not well maintained Atlantico hotel, can anyone recommend other gay friendly hotels? The hotel staff where I am currently staying is indifferent toward gays. Twice they stopped and questioned my companion who is registered at the hotel. When I inquired about this, they focused on "hotel security": POR FAVOR. For 2 days I intentionally sat in the lobby to watch people entering the hotel. A few times I saw guys arrive with obvious female prostitutes (one guy came in twice with different girls) and no one said a damn thing to them. To think we still have to go through this kind of crap in 2017. I wish to change hotels. Again I am very familiar with the Atlantico, no need to refer it. Any recommendations on OTHER hotels?
  4. Aside from the saunas, where do gays hang out during the day at the beach in Copacabana? And are there areas, for example restaurants etc, where gays hang out at night?
  5. In an anticipated first trip to Guadalajara, Mexico I contacted 10 escorts from an internet site. A month later I decided not to go and informed the guys of this. Wirhin the next few days I received email requests FROM ALL 10 GUYS asking for me to lend money to them because of recent emergencies, medical crisis, family health problems, etc. I was absolutely shocked by this! Again, the requests came from not one guy but from all of them - unbelievable!!! I am glad I cancelled my trip and will have no contact with any of these guys. I dread to think about what they would try to do to exploit money from me if I were actually there.
  6. I found most of the guys at https://mx.mileroticos.com/escorts-gay and Grindr. We communicated via email and WhatsApp using the translator (thank goodness for that app). Quoting a higher price is typical for the guys, regardless of the country, especially when they sense that you are a novice. That is why I consult with others, like you, when going to a new country or venue. Information from guys like you have facilitated many a trip. Thanks!
  7. In Guadalajara, any massage places and bars where you can take guys back to the hotel?
  8. I have contacted 4 different guys in Guadalajara and they requested $100 - $150 (US dollars). I said "no thanks, too expensive". How are you meeting guys for $35?
  9. Great advice for Spoon. Almost every Black-American I have met in Thailand has complained about racial discrimination against Blacks throughout Asia. They went on to say look beyond it and make the best of your trip. Great positive thinking. As one guy added: "f--k it, their loss, just enjoy yourself".
  10. Pastrami & Rye has closed? I am not surprised. The food was o.k, nothing special and a bit expensive. I do not mind paying a lot for a good delicious meal, but not for an o.k. meal. I was always the only customer when I ate there. The restaurant was o.k. for something different but again, pricy.
  11. Reported on the news: the passengers on the flight are sueing United for millions because they are traumatized for being on that flight - WOW! GET REAL. I was traumatized when I saw the incident on the news. Maybe I should also sue United Airlines. None of the passengers did anything to help or aide the poor guy, and now they want to benefit financially by his misfortune! UNBELIEVABLE. Only in the USA!
  12. a447a thanks a lot for providing more details about your experiences in Vietnam. Enlightenment, both good and bad, is wonderful to have! Due to people like you and others on various sites I have had some GREAT trips and experiences!!! I can vividly remember visiting my grandparents who had a lot of flowers planted around their house; how beautiful. As I approached the flowers my grandfather warned me to be careful of the thorns on the roses? Thorns, roses? Eventually I learned what he meant and enjoyed the beauty of the flowers without the pain of the thorns. Thanks to many of you, my trips have been as beautiful as a rose without the pain of the thorns.

Fot me, he is a wonderful guy. I have been with him four times. He drives a very nice white Toyota car and drove us to the hotel after his last act for the night. Once he had his motorcycle with him, but I am not the motorcycle type. He was very-very accommodating and this is why we were together four times (I am more the butterfly type). But again, he is a wonderful guy .
  14. Rest and be assured that the photos of the guys on the web sites ARE NOT representative of the guys that actually work there. Like in Thailand, the businesses use photos of models or older photos of guys to lure in customers. This seems to be a standard practice - so be it. Go there, have a good time with what they have to offer but DO NOT EXPECT to hook up wth any of the guys featured in their ads or you will be disappointed. Thanks for posting the information for Los Angeles.
  15. Thanks I will call and tell him.
  16. My friend is in Pattaya and has a bad case of diaherria. Can anyone recommend an English speaking doctor in Pattaya. Thanks
  17. A buddy of mine asked me to check on this for him. His company is sending him to either Phonom Phen or Ho Chi Minh City - his choice of city. I have not been to either city and can only relate information from this and other sites. After work he is interested in going to massage places, host bars and other places where he can easily hook up with the guys. He is NOT INTERESTED IN SIGHT SEEING NOR ANYTHING ELSE - to each his own. Since I have not been to either city, I decided to ask for information from others who have been to one city or the other if not both. He wants to know which of the two cities would be the easiest for meeting the guys, without much hassle and disappointment, and the easiest for getting around to the various massage venues etc. He is a bottom who loves to kiss and cuddle, and he prefers masculine men. So, what do you think, which city should he visit and why? Again, he can only go to one of the two cities previously mentioned, not both. Thanks.
  18. I heard that services in Hong Kong are quite expensive, so on my 2 day stay I did not venture into that area. You wrote that the prices are just a little higher than those in Thailand. How much was the service for the happy ending? Thanks
  19. A friend sent this to me and asked if the information is correct, do Thais call us "farangs"? The article was published at: www.https://uglytruththailand.wordpress.com/2014/09/13/thailand-is-an-extremely-racist-society/ Excerts: "THAILAND IS AN EXTREMELY RACIST SOCIETY." and "All Thais refer to white people as “Farangs”, a derogatory word equivalent to the use of the term “white devils” by Chinese racists. The term is used by academics. It depicts difference. “We are Thais”, they say and think proudly. But they are Farangs. And of course all Farangs think alike because democracy is a Farang concept. There is no recognition that there are right-wing and left-wing westerners. And of course, Farangs cannot possibly understand Thailand." Upon reading this I was shocked and immediately went to the site. To quote Mr. Spock from Star Trek: "interesting".
  20. After 3 1/2 weeks in Pattaya I have had 12 boys off; at least one from almost every bar in the boytown area, 2 from Sunee Plaza and 1 from Jomtien. All of them said they were "top only", and NONE of them (except one) was able to top. Shortly after entering the hotel room I was told: "I make (or try) bottom only for you". What the f...? I never said I was looking for a bottom, not even hinted at it. During the initial conversation I explicitly stated I want a boy who is a top! I made sure they understood what I wanted and as previously stated, every boy said he is a top only or "ok I f..k you good". THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!! Instead, all of them magically became a bottom, ALL of them except one. Of all the guys, three of them had overly puffy thick dicks due to silicon injections - horribly disgusting. None of the guys were able to maintain an erection despite fierce masturbation and/or porno movies. How disappointing! In two days I will return to good ol' Bangkok. The prices may be higher but at least I can have what I am looking for and no problems with erections. During this trip I am flabbergasted with the number of Ladyboys, old and young, and the lack of "true honest tops" in Pattaya.
  21. Prostitution is a business plain and simple. Like all business one party tries to make as much money as possible while the other party tries to pay as little as possible - simple economics. If anyone wants to feel sorry for the guys and shower them with money, so be it. Their money is theirs to do with as they please. As far as sympathy goes, there are a lot of homeless/hungry people sleeping on the streets in all of our countries. What about sympathy for those people and giving them a lot of money? I am sure that they would very much appreciate you and the offer. Aside: the next time you are out strolling about, check out the parking areas near the bars. Many many many of the poor money boys are driving some very expensive motorcycles, cars, and trucks. My heart bleeds for them - ha ha. Guys, lighten up. No one tells you how to spend your money and if they did you would resent the hell out of it. So afford others the same courtesy. This and other similar boards are great for providing valuable helpful information. Let's encourage others to contribute their experiences and welcome those who seek information and not discourage them by posting personal attacks Remember: treat others as you would want to be treated.
  22. Concerning the off fees, yesterday I was told the same by two different boys. The off fee is 1000-1500 before the show and 500 after the show. This is the off fee for the guys who are employed by the bar and make 22,000 or more a month depending on their position. The other guys who do not work for the bar and not in a show have an off fee of 500 anytime.
  23. Thanks Numazu for your input. I just wanted to know if we were all basically on the same page and you verified that we are. How nice it is to read reports which actually addresses the original post. Gerefan, your post made me laugh so hard that others looked up at my outburst. Thanks a million for an amusing addition to my day. Z909, your post is so true. I learned those valuable lessons years ago doing my first visit to Thailand. Somethings seem never to change. Again, thank goodness for sites like this one and others which has a lot of helpful information as well as delightful reading material. Keep up the good work.
  24. No, I did not ask the bar employees about the "tip for the boys"; far from being a novice. The bar employees were asked "what is the off fee?". For the boys tip fee, I only ask the boys themselves. I tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a lower tip fee. I sat outside and saw that many of the guys I talked with left the bar without a customer. Perhaps to the Thai boy way of thinking, no money is better than negotiating a lesser fee; who knows. Frequently I have observed more boys working than customers at the bar, so 2000-3000 seems excessive to me and I have not paid that price. So again, I am curious if others are being told this high price?
  25. This past weekend I was at the four bars I listed. I asked the bar workers what is the off fee. At each bar I invited 3 to 4 boys for a drink and asked them what is their fee. So that is how I got the prices - from the employees and the boys themselves. Londoner, are you CURRENTLY in Pattaya or have been here within the last 3 months?
