From the markets I fly from, GRU is almost always cheaper. I Fly Star Alliance because of status and will book Azul airlines for national flights. Or sometimes I'll book an open jaw which is into Rio and out of SP, or vice versa...then only have to buy one domestic flight between the 2 cities.
