I usually phrase it as , I'm been here many times and have a friend over to have a couple of drinks before going to dinner, I assure them that it's not a party situation with no loud music or anything. It's usually replied with, no problem, don't exceed the number of guests permitted.... as long as they leave ID with security.... not past 11pm..... or flat out no guests allowed, something like that.
