Great post, I felt like I was there.....I've been there before, but no real desire to go back....Everyone I met (working) spend most of their time in Jomtien working.....Heart of Darkness I really enjoyed. Too bad no murder massage guy photos to see 😉

I stayed there once when Tarntawan was full....I commented to my friends that it is a VERY basic hotel. I would stay there again if nothing else was available. That was when at least Babylon was in the area and I could justify it. Their coffee shop is to me what Foodland is to Vinapu, I love their menu and food. But their rooms remind me of military barracks a little. What don't you like about Tarntawan that you'd be willing to go to Malaysia ....what about Furama, seems like it's gotten good reviews here...?

Only during breakfast hours now..... I have friends that only stay at Four Seasons and Waldorf and wouldn't think of the Meridien or heaven forbid a Crowne PLaza....... Ohhhh, there are MUCH cheaper places, if money was the only objective 😲 I don't recall cement beds at the Tarntawan....

Did you seriously not even try to look for threads about Mexico??? You've spent more time crying about people being unfair instead of spending that time to research. You joined Sunday, yet you know an awful lot of history ....except that of Mexico.....weird. Let us know if you need any info on Thailand too.....might be hard to find.

Price difference? I worked as a hotel GM for a big part of my life, I can't justify the price difference. I still get rate benefits at Hilton, yet they're too far away from the "scene". The Tarntawan has always provided a decent experience, even when they were at 50usd a night. But at 20-25usd w/b'fast, I can't see my way to spend more than that....I had a friend stay at Meridien and I visited, very nice staff and rooms but not to pay 125usd or more a night....as Tomcal would say "you know how many guys that is?"

I saw you or someone mentioned this hotel in some post.....How would you compare it to Tarntawan? The reviews are mixed online for Furama Sathorn, mostly about aged decor,furniture, a/c and appliances not working. But Tarntawan isn't new either. I still like the latter because of its location, service, price and I'm nostalgic of the place having stayed there so much. So if they are the same price, with b'fast included....what are the differences to you, which do you like more?

The 1st time I ate an edible, I ate the whole thing, like a dessert. Followed by 8 hrs of unpleasantness.....My friends that eat them all the time, were laughing. Because supposedly you eat it in little pieces over time to keep the buzz going. It's like drinking a bottle of Vodka all at once instead of taking the drinks in a little at a time....how they explained it to me. I won't try them again....probably.
