  1. Yes Western Union is where Thai boys love to go !
  2. Just how polluted is the sea at Jomtien or Pattaya ? . You hear many dire warnings but I see many people sea swimming and I am not aware of large numbers of them being adversely affected. I am not a regular sea swimmer but when on the gay beach and the sea is fairly calm I do go in and like to swim to the safety floating barrier, So far with no ill effects. Maybe I am lucky perhaps like I have been in the past with unprotected sex. I take motorbike taxis sometimes without using a helmet, cross busy roads when intoxicated and travel on the highway to and from the airport. In fact it’s surprising I’m still alive. But perhaps my luck will run out soon !
  3. I have a friend, who like me is a gay sex tourist. He had 3 weeks in Thailand, starting in Pattaya, but travelled to Phuket intending to have a week there. After two nights he returned to Pattaya,. No need to say more.
  4. I like the Zing Resort in Jomtien Complex and have stayed there during my last three trips. Very gay friendly and a decent sized pool plus a small fitness room. It’s near the bars but not affected by noise at night. Breakfast served till late. I don’t think I will be going back to the Ambiance where I used to stay frequently. I use motor bike taxis to bring boys back from BT and Sunee.
  5. When I first visited Thailand the Boys did not have mobile telephones and email was not generally used. I used old fashioned mail from the UK to communicate with a boy I wanted to meet up with again. He wrote on a several envelopes, his address in Isaan in Thai Script and I just added THAILAND. He received the letters either in Isaan or in Pattaya, having been forwarded by his family. I was warned not to enclose money as postal workers were aware that farangs did this. In this way I was able to meet up with him during a subsequent trip.
  6. I’ve come across mooks Several times but my impression is that they are less common than when I first came to Pats (2002). I’ve never actually seen a silicon dick so the statistics mentioned by Christian seem about right. I only offed one of the mook boys when I was 100% top and now being mainly bottom I don’t fancy a mook cock in my arse but sucking one is something I would do.
  7. I like to re-live the experiences I had with a gay friend, whenever we meet up. We first travelled together to Thailand 18 years ago and enjoyed 2 weeks of intensive Boys and sex, and followed that with three more trips. When we reminiss it almost seems like that was only yesterday so vivid was the impression it made on us. He is in a steady relationship now and won’t be playing the sex tourist anymore but is always eager to hear about my adventures. In addition I keep an eye on the gay forums including this one and even post occasionally. I always enjoy a wank looking at Asian gay porn including the incomparable PBM.
  8. It seems to me that the distinction between gay orientated and gay friendly is becoming increasingly blurred. In the Jomtien Complex hotels gays and other guests seem to co-exist without problems. In Boyztown the hotels, which 18 years ago, when I first discovered Pattaya, were 100% gay, you see more and more str couples. Whereas then, us gays would feel uneasy if str’s appeared in the corridors or lobby, with females. As I understand it the only hotels in Pattaya enforcing no joiners are those at the top end (say 4000+ per night). A couple of years ago I stayed at the Banyan Tree in Bkk which is a high end, place for 2 nights. After an hour or so in the bar I formed the impression that a young joiner would not be appropriate there, so I contented myself with a couple of massages. Maybe my impression was wrong.
  9. That’s so true Vinapu. But what about expats who have made their home in Thailand and have burnt their boats with their home country ?, They did their money sums before making the move, with pension income and probably with a lump sum from the the sale of a house, using an exchange rates that applied say from 2005 to 2015 ( in the case of the U.K. pound that would be between 70 to 50 Thai Baht) Now they are looking at 37 baht to a pound, a much larger depreciation than is the case with the USD OR EUR. perhaps they have a pension of say £1000 per month which produced in the past 60,000 baht - enough for a pleasant life particularly away from the resorts or BKK. Now it’s only 37,000 which means survival not living and the worry about medical expenses. If possible they should return to the UK, but perhaps connections with family and friends have been lost and the cost of finding somewhere to live has substantially increased. During my recent visits to Pattaya I have met several in the gay community who are in that position. Not for them the enjoyment of of sleeping with attractive money boys or racking up bar bills boosted by boy drinks. OK I can reminisce and complain about the exchange rate compared with when I first discovered Thailand (70 baht - £1) and a night in the gogos plus a boy in my bed was a trifling cost, but that’s nothing to the pain of many expats who are now struggling.
  10. Boys playing on their phones whilst in bed with you - I definitely don’t like this. One night after sex I was ready for sleep - it was about 1 am. I always wake up around the same time as if I was back home - that is between 7 and 7.30, so I needed to get off to sleep. Initially it was 90% dark with only a little light from the bathroom door slightly ajar. Suddenly there was glare from his phone and when I looked over he was playing a game - I think candy crush. When I protested he was offended and said it was too early for him to sleep. The night finished with me telling him to go which he did. You gave to realise they live nocturnal lives and their body clocks reflect this causing problems like the one I describe.
  11. I like a small amount of light when in bed with a boy which can be achieved by leaving the bathroom door slightly ajar. Just enough light to be able to view the boy and his assets and also to deal with condoms and lube. It’s a good point made by Christian about keeping the boy’s phone out of his reach. After sex I normally just want to go to sleep and this is not promoted by the glare of a phone screen and I certainly don’t want photos taken of me.
  12. I’ve experienced what seems like laziness from Thai boys. The walk from Sunee to BT is to me a trivial distance even though it’s not a pleasant walk in the evening and so is the walk from the Jomtien Complex to the gay beach. Yet suggesting that we accomplish these small distances on foot has sometimes produced protests and requests for motor cycle taxis. when I first discovered Pattaya, 20 years ago, I was into distance running and had completed a number of marathons and I was determined to maintain my running during my 3/4 week trips in Pattaya. The ideal time for this is at daybreak when it’s cooler and there is far less traffic. One time I woke up in the Ambiance at about 6 am next to my quasi boyfriend and announced to him that I was going for a run and required to be let in the room on my return. This was incomprehensible to him as was my boast on return that I had run to the north end of Beach Road and then to Jomtien and back. He found this achievement something ackin to the ascent of Everest although he did not describe it as such (the majority of Thais have no idea of world geography). I suggest that next morning he could come with me as he was 20 years old and looked very fit. I recall he ridiculed the idea and said it would be better to take a baht bus or motor bike. This attitude show in the complete lack of success for Thailand in the Olympic Games athletics competitions. On the other hand Thais are as a nation relatively slim which has a lot to do with their traditional diet and for many hard physical work in the rice fields.
  13. Boys on Dongtan Gay Beach some years ago. A common sight then
  14. When was this so-called “heyday” of the Dongtan Gay Beach ?. Any opinions ?. Certainly around 2005 to 2010 my impression that it was very gay then. Families, str couples and single females were, whilst not completely absent rather a tiny minority. In fact when you saw a younger lady the general opinion was that she liked being there because she did not get pestered.
  15. At the gay beach the presence of cute guys could attract gays from the pools and bars, especially if the boys wore small tight speedos. Perhaps the proprietors could supply discounted food and drinks to boys who met that specification. I for one would welcome some eye candy. Not sure how older ugly females could be discouraged from visiting our beach
  16. Deliberate policy of the city authority - Definitely not. Thais are certainly not known for town planning. More likely it would start with one or more gays and their Thai boyfriends favouring one particular concession. Perhaps the proprietors would see a business opportunity and would be especially friendly and attentive to those customers. The word would spread amongst the community that this part of the beach is for us. Adjoining concessions then would follow the trend and hey presto you have a gay beach. Thai boys looking for customers or daddies would start appearing which would attract more gays, expat or tourist.
  17. I’ve been a daddy on several occasions and agree with Boy69 that you have to be careful in the relationship. Thai boys can be unstable and as we all know “face” is so important to Thais. They can get very angry when being dumped. I had to leave Pattaya in a hurry once when I terminated a boy that I had had with me for about 10 days. He came back to the Ambiance and banged on my door. I was in bed with another boy and he went into a rage threatening me with violence. I only got rid of him by giving him a good amount of baht. I immediately checked out and caught the first bus in the morning to Bkk and spent the remainder of my trip there. I should have recognised signs that he regarded our relationship as daddy/son.
  18. There is no doubt that the gay scene has shrunk in the last few years - that is quite plain from the closed bars in BT and Sunee and the trend for OUR beach to become less gay. The obvious reason is that Thailand is no longer inexpensive with the large increase in the value of the baht. When I discovered Pattaya 20 years ago I got 70 baht for £1.00 and usually paid boys 1000 for a night in my bed ie around £13 - the same boy would cost maybe 2000 at 40 ie £50 today. Thailand has changed and there are far more opportunities for young guys than working in the rice fields. But I very much agree with Vinapu that Thailand and Pattaya in particular is still a great place for a gay tourist, like myself, on a two/three week holiday who is attracted to Asian boys. Of course many gays come to Thailand with partners or are not sex tourists and do not frequent the bars.
  19. The. Link to Agoda had reviews of Cafe Royal one of which posted in May 2019 mentioned noise, but said that he was given a room which did not face the bars so the nuisance was minimised. The contributor also said that he hadn't realised that this hotel is situated in a gay area but did not say this was a negative. Generally gays and strs co-exist in hotels in BT, Complex and Sunee. Generally however I only seem to interact with other gays whilst on holiday in Pattaya.
  20. I went to Koh Samet in August 2018 when I bought a 2 night package with Malibu Travel. This included a mini bus to Ban Phrea, ferry, National Park entry and a bungalow. it certainly for me was worth going as a change from the madness of Pattaya and the beaches are really beautiful. I did visit 20 years ago when it was almost like a Robinson Crusoe island but now it is much more developed with low rise hotels, restaurants and bars. i did take a boy with me and there was no particular problems with that, apart from the usual knowing looks from farang str couples. However the boy was rather bored until I rented a scooter for him on which he spent a lot of the daylight hours zooming up and down the single tarmac road, whereas I liked to stay on the beach reading and swimming in the crystal clear water.
  21. I hope that it will reopen - Sunee needs more choice regarding gogos. In March I only went there to visit Winner hoping to off a cute boy, which I did 3 times..
  22. It seems that the opinion regarding tips in Gogo bars is coalescing around 20 baht to 100 for the drinks service. The latter figure would be appropriate if your stay was lengthy whereas 20,would be ok for a shorter period with just one drink. As for interaction with a boy my minimum would be 100 when I’ve not got too intimate (perhaps just kissing or caressing). This would go to maybe 200 if I have held his cock or indulged in lengthy tongue kissing. However usually my purpose in visiting a Gogo would be to off a boy usually LT sometimes short time. I would not give him a bar tip, the tip would come later related to his performance in bed. I visit Pattaya as a gay sex tourist - skimping on tips is not what I’m about.
  23. Agree with you there Spoon. My last trip was centred on the Jomtien Complex plus several visits to Winner Boys to off boys. I did go to BT but only occasionally whereas over the previous 10 years I was a regular in BT. Going back a long time (10 to 20 years) spent a lot of evenings in Sunee.
  24. GGBKK Thanks for your report - I enjoyed reading it as it brought back memories of my March trip when I stayed in the JomtienComplex but visited the Pattaya gogo’s. you mentioned that whilst you sat in Toyboys you had thoughts of a 3 way involving Sophy but the other boy sat with you did not appeal. However in the evening of your final day you had dinner with him and David. Did you not think of a goodbye session with the two of them ?. Do you think you will come face sometime to renew the acquaintance ? you also mentioned walking along the beach to Boystown (from Jomtien ?). I once tried that but found it impossible because after the end of the Dongtan Beach the way is blocked by private hotel grounds. But maybe you found a way ?. Of course you can walk along the road Jomtien>Pattaya but that’s not at all pleasant with the traffic and pollution.
  25. I agree with you Boy69 and have always preferred Pats to Bkk, since I discovered the place nearly 20 years ago. Although I concede that Bkk is better for hunks rather than twinks of which there is an ample supply in Pattaya available at lower prices, prepared to stay overnight and maybe become a holiday boyfriend. Bkk is rather overwhelming and I suspect the traffic pollution is not good health wise.
