  5. They are more than waiters - they are hosts. Primary job is care and entertain you. They will not sit (usually) to your table without your invitation. When you will take your place most of them will watch you and it will be enough to smile and to nod to one of them as a signal to join your company. Boy will expect some drinks and tips at the end if you will not off him (usually I tip boy 100 baht per each 30 min he spends with me). Host bars have lower prices for drinks, many drinks can cost less than 100 baht. The great difference btw go-go and host bars is what most of boys in host bars are able to speak English.
  6. You just invite him/them to your table. Then they will serve you as a waiters and chat and drink with you.

    Asia Guys Blog

Yeah, for your photo caption is "Residential building "Kotelnicheskaya embankment" - one of "Stalin's style" 7 buildings", but in your article author wrote about hotel "Ukraine" - now hotel Radisson (2 bottom photos).

Wrong It is living area building with apts at Kotelnicheskaya embankment. Google street view https://goo.gl/maps/Bk2Jvrc5AAK2 MSU is few times bigger. Google street view https://goo.gl/maps/bfThT4XptFp Hotel Ukraine is now Radisson, google street view https://goo.gl/maps/hwgQBMKVER22 you aren't alone, GettiImage also attributed it wrong Full name of formerly "Ukraine" is "Radisson Royal hotel Moscow", it has own fleet of ships for river cruises.
  9. Thank you for report.
  10. Great reports Thank you. You still have option to try and review two more guides from SiamRoads.com - Esso and Ohh (joking)
  11. As per my experience any hotel will allows you to bring quest to double room paid for 2 person if you stay there alone, but some hotel may ask you to pay some fee if this double room will be paid for 1 person (usually they call it "for extra towels")
  12. I did. It is OK. Clean and... boring. Hotel located in the middle of the living area. For everything (coffeshop, bars, shopping, markets and so on) you should take tuk-tuk. Service is good, staff are straights, kitchen is so-so. Massage 6 of 10 points, masseur expects tips, no happyending. Fun time when locals come to sauna starts after 5pm and lasts till about 9pm.
  13. Usually 800 toll free numbers are working only in a country of number and SIM origin - in your case 001 is USA. In very rare cases owner of 800 numbers allowing international calls (i.e. from SIMs issued in other countries) - they are expensive for owners of numbers. upd: sorry for my limited English, I'm trying to say - in 99% cases it is up to owner of 1-800 number if it will be allowed to call to their 1-800 number from abroad cuz they have to cover cost of your call to their phone company.
  14. No, there isn't connection yet. KH govt has plans to finish link to the end of the 2016, but met some resistance from locals http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/28475/deadline-for-railway-residents/
