  1. My diabetic partner(whom I usually cook for) and I took note and avoid this for now. While what unicorn said is true, the correlation here was big. "the degree of risk was not modest," is a scientist's way of saying "Holy Fuck!" If you regularly eat things with sugar replacements in it as we do, this study is worth taking a look at yourself.
  2. Many of our first experiences sucked. Mine sucked because I didn't articulate what I wanted, I just wanted them to magically figure it out. (free clue, they don't.) Now, I negotiate exactly what I'm looking for before the meeting so nobody arrives with misaligned expectations. You also get better at judging who is going to give you the experience you want. But, hiring is always a roll of the dice. Sometimes great, sometimes not. If that doesn't appeal to you, try to find a guy who does it for you, and just stick to him. If muscle worship is your thing, you might try Tawan bar. It's known as the muscle place. Just use the translation apps to make clear what you want before you close the deal. Be explicit. I found it a bit embarrassing back then to explain exactly what I wanted... and I didn't get what I wanted. That learned me!
  3. Musk has destroyed twitter. This latest attempt to save it will only hasten its demise if he implements it. Whatever the fee, too many won't bother and it will wither and die. Perhaps when it finally goes bankrupt, somebody who has a clue will buy it and attempt to revive it. If so, I wish them luck. It never had a viable business model and Musk's idiocy really didn't help. Does he really think advertisers want to be on a platform where he tweets that the ADL is the cause of anti-semitism on Twitter? I never much paid attention to him before he bought twitter, but I am now completely baffled how a man so stupid could be so successful so far. He flushed all the brand equity of the name twitter because he has an alphabetic fetish for the letter X. The mind boggles. The mind also stays well away from the place for now. I miss the porn, but I'm not being part of that shit show.
  4. There is plenty of evidence that he did this multiple other times to other men. Dozens of men don't come out of the woodwork to make accusations spontaneously. That they did not have enough proof here to convict doesn't make him not a sexual predator who used his power and position to extort sexual favors. I think the destruction of his career was warranted and self-inflicted. He can spend the rest of his life in social exile.
  5. It is a disadvantage if you want to stay somewhere in the neighborhood of truth. If Manchin is only going to get in to win, then I don't think he'll get in. He'd have a very tough uphill climb and would burn a lot of bridges to try. Threating to do it might get him something. Actually doing it, not so much.
  6. I do think Comedian is a very funny critique of the idiocy of the modern art world. My favorite painting hangs in the Frick which is also my favorite museum. It doesn't show well online. It is Antwerp: Van Goyen Looking Out for a Subject by Turner. In person, the light streaming through the clouds is just breathtaking to me.
  7. I have always found the art market to be incomprehensible. The modern art market at least seems to be entirely made up of mad trend chasers. A few lucky artists get named the "in crowd" and people flock to pay ridiculous amounts for their work. Watched a good documentary "The Price of Everything" about it. Not sure it gave me any more insight into the madness. I was less than impressed with many of the pieces that were selling for huge amounts. For example, why in the world is Rothko such an acclaimed artist for painting things like this which sold for $45M in 2014? Baffling. It feels like the rich people version of designer clothes. You buy a label to tell people you have taste instead of, you know, having taste. Art for the rich and insecure.
  8. >>I like talking about my balls. Clients actually wrote about them in several of my escort reviews. << And do you find that MAGA style rants bring you clients, because it sure doesn't seem to be winning you friends here?
  9. I'm curious too, but I can't find them either.
  10. We don't need to perform for you. We aren't actors in the masturbatory racist fantasy you play in your head. If you go find a racist board, you can have a circle jerk of outrage. A lot of people here actually like brown people (and fucking them).
  11. You always hope for the one in a thousand who actually wants to understand rather than wallow in their self-righteous rage and sense of superiority. After that, it's just it's just for the humor value of poking the roaring bear.
  12. You consider it name calling. I consider it descriptive, since in fact many of the riots in the link are by white citizens, and you immediately dismiss that to return to your preferred narrative about brown people. You may be blind to what you are doing, but those you are talking to aren't. PS. The Yassar Arafat quote has been the Catholic Church's strategy for many, many centuries.
  13. Um, how about the French Revolution? I guess all the mad peasants were really Tunisians? But if you'd like to know about all the French riots it took me less than 30 seconds to find this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incidents_of_civil_unrest_in_France The French have been rioting for centuries. Not that anybody needs to provide you with the evidence you demand when it is crystal clear that you aren't interested in the evidence, only in the racist story you want to tell yourself so you can be mad at the brown people.
  14. The victim and the perpetrator were Americans. Apparently, we're so good at killing each other that we export it.
  15. Well, I did laugh, finish my drink and walk out.
  16. It's been a year since I went (twice). Both times I left shortly after arriving. I didn't like the staff much, and what was on offer at the moment wasn't great. Well, except the model who wanted 5000baht for a short time which seems high stakes on an unlikely bet.
  17. I hope somebody can make some shit stick to desantis, because at the moment I think he's a bigger threat than Trump.
  18. Yes, Sakura season is amazing. (I lived in Japan for a few years). But, it is hard to fully predict, and short. Fall is more dependable. But, if you want the best of the best, Sakura it is. That is Japan at its finest. I'm planning to revisit with friends next year. If you're going, take a look at the matsuri (festival) schedule too. Some of them are quite amazing, and worth shifting a bit to incorporate. I got to participate in a few as an exchange student some (cough, cough) decades ago.
  19. Summer in Japan is pretty miserable, and it's rainy season now. I agree, fall is lovely, and even winter in most of Japan isn't that bad.
  20. This site doesn't seem to be well maintained any more, but it links to a lot of gay brothels that still have sites of their own. https://boysnavi.jp/sbc/
  21. Andrew Sullivan is an asshole. Best avoided.
  22. If you don't want your kids there, don't bring them. How hard is this for people?
  23. I want an alternative to Biden, but I will absolutely vote for him if he's the democratic candidate. US elections have always been in my lifetime the lesser of two evils. Why would I expect it to suddenly change now?
  24. Given the frequency with which deadly amounts of fentanyl end up in seemingly ever variety of illicit drugs, those days of my youth are well behind me. I found I like this place. I'd like to stay as long as possible.
  25. I think it has been because the Republicans have become masters at feeding white anger. White fascism sells. It's a pity they are so angry they forget to check on who gave away the store to corporations and the rich instead of helping them.
