Popular Post marcolastrauman
2 weeks ago I got bored and stressed out at work and decided to go to Thailand to find release. This is my 5th time to Thailand since 2013 and my 2nd this year. Expecting no judgement, i'm basically by definition a sex tourist (i hope that does not make me a bad person) So I booked a ticket with Scoot to fly to Bangkok and an Air Asia ticket to Chiang Mai. I could have just bought the Direct to Chiang Mai flight but I must say that in my opinion, although gay bars in BKK are a bit expensive (bar fines, drinks) the choices of boys sre many. So I arrived in BKK via Don Muang airport around 6:15pm, and being a semi expert in BKK I know that taxi won't take me anywhere due to traffic. Airport taxis are also expensive charging 700-900 for a downtown trip. (Thats already more than the bar fine) So the best choice for me is to take the bus to go to Mo Chit Station. i paid 30 baht for the trip. It's just outside the arrival exit. You can ask the information counter for the exact location. Once in Mo Chit station then take the train all the way to Sa La Daeng via Siam Interchange. Having no coins of 45 baht , i cant buy a ticket and the queue at the counter is very long. And the shops around dont change coins. i decided to pull out 50 baht and bought water which is 20 baht. The fare was 45 baht. So clearly the change was not enough. But its okay, i bought the 15 baht fare and got a card to go inside the train station and Once i reached sa la daeng i just went direct to the customer service and "complained" that i cant go out and then they just topped asked me to pay the balance. Saved me +45 mins of waiting time. Not advertising but everytime i'm in BKK i stay at Tarntawan place. The place feels like home, very welcoming staff. No judgemental look at all. Without wasting time i took a quick shower and head off to the Soi Twilight. Went for 1 drink at Maxis while looking at passersby. After the drink I head off to dream boys (>30 boys present) and found good range of boys which i like (not more than 25,bottom, slim, and not effem) but it was only in Fresh Boy that i saw someone i liked, his name is Long and literally it was. More than 8 inches and the diameter was like 3 inches. It barely fits my mouth! Took him to my place and we had a great night. I flew to Chiang Mai the following day. I'm currently in Chiang Mai now and will give updates once i'm in BKK. Sidenote: I'm really not a good story teller compared to all of you guys, but i can answer questions if you have one, and i'm very open to suggestions on where to go. I'm a 28 yo by the way Schedule: 24 bkk 25 Cnx 26 Cnx 27 Bkk 28 bkk/fly to sin jacquet, vinapu, marcolastrauman and 2 others
vinapu
Expecting no judgement, i'm basically by definition a sex tourist (i hope that does not make me a bad person) and here is a judgement - you are good person. who you think we are? Thank you for a tip about bus from DMK and ticket top-up trick at destination . I'm surprised DMK taxis are so expensive, are you sure they did not try to milk you out? Don't be afraid being accused to advertise , if you like place tell us here, I second your opinion about Tarntawan being welcoming and non-judgmental place, I like treating myself to stay there for 2 nights on most trips and being more accustomed to places like Malaysia or Om Yim and the likes I treat it as ultimate luxury. Nothing wrong with your story telling abilities , give yourself a credit.
ChristianPFC
Those taxi fares must be without meter or meter and long time in traffic jam. There is a train as well, at least one per hour (all lines from north and north-east pass and stop). There are some BTS ticket automates that accept bills (all MRT accept bills). Interesting idea how to circumvent having no coins.
marcolastrauman
Metered Taxi queue is impossible, i arrived at 5pm, seveeral international flights arriving. When i mentioned airport taxi i was referring to the "taxi/lemo" service where in you pay in advance. Even that has like 30-45 mins of waiting time with one middle eastern guy screaming at the counter for he has been waiting for more than 45 mins. I'm now at Chiang Mai airport heading to Bangkok. I'd write something about my trip to Chiang Mai once i reached my hotel later. @vinapu thank you for your encouraging words. I appreciate it. @christianPFC i'm still to see the one that accepts bills. vinapu and marcolastrauman

Did that just last week, worked like a charm. He even turned on the meter right away, last time I did that I had to negotiate a flat rate (400 incl. toll, which is roughly what it comes out to anyway; couldn't wait for another one willing to use the meter coz quite some people were doing the same, chasing the few cabs available up there). vinapu
Guest
If we're talking 45 minute queues for a taxi at DMK, the bus and BTS must be a good alternative. The #29 buses run every 10 minutes or so. There are also A1 and A2 buses every half hour or so, which I presume would be quicker, but I've not yet tried them, as a 29 comes along and I get on it. A few years ago it took me some very frantic work to get one of the taxi mafiosi to take me to DMK. I asked to go to Don Mueang and he was insistent I should got to Suvarnabhumi. I presume he didn't know DMK had reopened, however it's no excuse -when the customer insists on going to DMK, that's where the customer should go. Since then, every single journey I take from Silom to either Bangkok airport has been by public transport.

brall3
I echo Vinapu's last post for I am eagerly awaiting your comments about your recent trip to Chiang Mai. I am contemplating a visit the city in three weeks and the various posts very helpful.
Popular Post marcolastrauman
Hey guys, sorry for the delay in the response. I'm now back here in Singapore and work is catching up. Now that it's weekend I'm here to write again. CHIANG MAI... Whoever hear that name would describe it as Beautiful, chilly, slow paced city in northern Thailand. Even during my previous visits in Bangkok the mama sans in the bars have good impression of Chiang Mai, also almost all the handsome lads in the bar are mostly from Chiang Mai. So I really have high expectations. So for this very short trip, my main focus is this Old City of Northern Thailand. As my intention is to be closer to the gayest place in CM, I decided to stay in Lotus Hotel, a botique hotel which is just adjacent to the famous Adam's apple club. Apparently this time is the low season and I believe I am the only guest that time. Since Adams Apple only open at 9PM onwards, I decided to drink some beer in the Bar beside the lotus hotel, hoping someone might join me and save me from paying the bar fines. But apparently there was none. in fact it was only me and the waiter. Clearly Business is no good this time of the year. I was chilling until 9 and went straight to the Adams apple club once I saw a Farang went in. When I went into the bar I was the only customer, and I was the trigger that they start calling the boys. There were like 15 boys in total, some few were cute but not the kind that I like. Just by looking at them you know they are exclusively TOP! I had a couple of Beer (260 baht each) and LEFT... I feel very unwelcomed in this bar, the mama san don't talk to you, not even a smile. they show you to the table yes, but that's it. Then some farang came in and was treated the same way. there was a total disconnect all through out that night.. So after i escaped from the place I decided to go to the nearby Free Guy Club, a total disappointment, again im the only customer, with more than 10 pure top boys. the manager was okay though, he made sure I was comfortable and asked me the usual spill "what's your name, how many days, where you from" After finishing my Juice i went out and went to Circle Pub, still the same Me as the only costumer then not so interesting top guys... It was already past 12 midnight, i took a tuktuk and ask the driver to take me to SEE MAN PUB.... that's where it became very interesting.. Very cute coyote boys performing some teasing dance on the stage, and after their performance they go mingle with the patron and if they catch you staring at them they'll approach you, they wont ask for any drink or what, they have their own bottles but i'm sure if you're going to offer them of course they'll say yes... After all my disappointment it was only See Man Pub who actually brightened up my night. The boy who approached me was dead gorgeous and guess what, a BOTTOM!!!!! hahaha. according to him he is a university student studying Business Management, and guess what i'm an MBA myself too, so it was a good starting topic. so at around 3 in the morning when the bar is announcing that they are closing he approached me and said where are you going next?.. i said i might go back to my hotel and I'm alone and if he is keen to join me... he smiled and said YES!!!!! so we took a tuktuk back to my hotel and we did the did... Chiang Mai boys are WILD!!!!!! i'd say 9/10... i had one 10/10 in pattaya. I gave him 1,000 baht and he was surprised, asking me what it was for, i said you buy yourself some clothes, you were naked whole night!!!! haha. he laughed, we kissed, and he left, 8am. i slept until noon and went straight to 2 Brothers Massage to get some sex again. (i'm seriously horny the entire trip) prices are not cheap, the one i took was a 1 hour body massage . it cost 1,400 (tip inclusive). the masseur was massaging the back of my legs as i was facing down, 30 minutes each leg, to the point that it became very painful. the massage was a joke, but i was not there for the massage though. so he asked me to face front, he then started stroking me. he wanted to say something but i know his english is limited so i said, i f*ck you, his eyes went big, and stood up and lie on the bed. he was like a disciplined little boy obeying his strict master. although the massage was bad, he compensated it well on the post massage activity. it was good. i say 7/10. later in the night i went back to the same bar, same boys, same lousy show.. i decided to call it a night and sleep without a boy. Overall my Chiang Mai experience was not impressive. If basing from my recent trip in Chiang Mai then I'd advise to skip the place. Go pattaya or stay in bangkok instead. The experience i had was not impressive. Although I had some fun night, but the fun that I got was really not worth the effort I exerted. It was my first time in Chiang Mai and it's the low season, maybe things are different during the high one. Chiang Mai is a wonderful place, I went to the night safari, to the mountains, etc. and it was breath taking, if you are travelling with a family, then Chiang Mai should not be missed. I felt safe the entire time, the city is clean, traffic is okay, air is clean, people are super nice, food are very cheap. Please note: The review was in the perspective of a gay sex tourist. I'll add some regarding my last night in bangkok from chiang mai vinapu, kokopelli, KhorTose and 3 others
vinapu
thank you for a great report. Reminds me my first impression of Pattaya - I did not like the place, yet after returning home , digesting experience I start looking to bright side and returning there ever since. It seems you are saying Chiang May is great for the sights , not necessarily for the boys. Reading your report from Adam's Apple I smiled, usually we hear complains about mamasans being too overbearing, now we have opposite case of mamasan too absent. As for looks, I would not be so sure if boy is exclusive top or bottom just by looking at him, better to get acquainted and find out, there are surprises out there. Waiting impatiently for next installment
firecat69
I think after a few weeks you might think another try is worth it to Chiang Mai. As many residents will tell you the Gay GoGo bars suck especially if you want a Bottom. Massage places are mediocre but residents will tell you that the Discos such as See Man Club are the place to go. If you can handle the late nights which I cannot any longer you will find Sexy Boys who will be surprised when you give them a 1000 baht. No chance of that happening in Pattaya . That alone would make the trip interesting and probably a number of repeats with boys like you met.
marcolastrauman
It seems you are saying Chiang May is great for the sights , not necessarily for the boys. @vinapu you are correct, just basing on what i have experienced first hand, I would say Chiang Mai is not for those really looking for hardcore Gay Sex Tourism. Although I would say if you are a Gay tourist with sex at the bottom of the list then I'd say you'll surely enjoy Chiang Mai. Many cute willing boys to flirt with. The thing with my trip is that the pace is too fast. Clearly I only have the weekend, so i wanted a fast food service with value meals readily available. Maybe Chiang Mai is more of a Fine dining where everything is a little bit slow, taking the time in the world to get to know the locals and the insider deals. Apparently I don't have the luxury of time during my visit. So yeah I might reconsider and visit CM, but not really soon. As for looks, I would not be so sure if boy is exclusive top or bottom just by looking at him, better to get acquainted and find out, there are surprises out there. There are shows in between, in Adams club, the bar is really not that big, so the boys have to congregate somewhere while waiting for the show to finish. Some of them due to lack of space maybe will ask to sit beside you but wont bother you. During this time, i did asked around, and my guesses are all correct. I know a straight boy when i see one. most of the boys in the bar where I've been at are clearly straight who are left with only few job options. I think after a few weeks you might think another try is worth it to Chiang Mai. As many residents will tell you the Gay GoGo bars suck especially if you want a Bottom. Massage places are mediocre but residents will tell you that the Discos such as See Man Club are the place to go. Also, yes, I have read somewhere here that the boys in CM are mostly top. As for the massage place, mediocre is i think the correct word to use. See man club is so far the best place to hang out. It's the only place that actually delivered something good. Many locals though and few foreigners. No WHITES (sorry for classifying) during my visit, only asian tourists. (SG, Chinese, Koreans) I'm planning to get another short trip before the end of the year and for this trip I might go BKK and Pattaya. I'll post my last night in bangkok tomorrow. Thank you guys vinapu and KhorTose
farangyai
When I visited Chiang Mai back a few years ago, my impression was similar to yours. I had a great time on the tourist things, great food, good weather, and many interesting things to do. But I find it difficult to explain the disconnect I experienced at the bars. It just was not the same experience as in BKK. It felt very different. Literally no one came to assist me and I did not find the vibe as outgoing as BKK or Pattaya. Perhaps some others can comment who live there as I suspect that once you adjust to the norm there, it becomes easier to find what you are looking for. But it is different and maybe that is good sometimes. llz and marcolastrauman
vinapu
It just was not the same experience as in BKK. It felt very different. Literally no one came to assist me .... my idea of bar in paradise - I get my beer and I'm left free to contemplate the scene uninterrupted by ' you want a boy? ' and other questions. Try that in soi Twilight bars. In Bangkok only Jupiter is one still leaving me alone to a great degree. I'm not saying one approach is better than another though . For shy newbies probably an intrusive mamasan is better because it helps them to move in right direction. On my first BKK bar visit ever if not mamasan telling me ' take this boy, he is very popular , he knows short time room nearby " I'd be leaving empty handed but he forced on me an introduction on Bangkok charms for which I'm grateful to this day and hope he married rich. paulsf

There is a borderline between being felt welcome and being pushed. This time in Adams Bar there was a total disconnect, a total feeling of you don't exist and so what if you are here kind of thing. A simple hint of customer service is sufficient but this time there's none. vinapu
Guest
Being left alone by the mamasans is also my preference. There should be a waiter to get you a drink and then they should leave the customer alone until called over. Ideally, you never need to call the mamasan over as your preferred boy will make eye contact and you can beckon him over & discuss things directly. So it seems like the Chiang Mai gogo bars get that part right. However, from my sole visit to Chiang Mai a few years ago, I don't remember the gogo bars being very good -too many macho types and not enough twinks. Seems not much has changed. At least one of the bars had such poor lighting it was difficult to see the boys on the stage properly.

A simple hint of customer service is sufficient but this time there's none. Yes, exactly. It was no welcome, greeting, or acknowledgement. I did not mean the lack of a pushy host, that was not it as I prefer no mamasan unless I need help. Perhaps it was because they prefer Thai customers and I was being tolerated but not encouraged. I have never had the same vibe in any Bangkok or Pattaya establishment. Even if the host is busy or away, the guys smile at you and give you a welcome vibe or try to get your attention. It extended beyond the lack of greeting. I felt the guys were somewhat distant, no direct eye contact, no personal connection. It was more like they were going through motions like meat in a meat case. No interraction, no smiles that I recall. Also as I recall, many of them came out in street clothes except one establishment. That did not help. It also may have something to do with more of the staff having less English speaking ability. Or perhaps many were Burmese. Many of the Thai outside Bangkok/Pattaya are fearful of being spoken to in English and some can pretend you are not there. I hope I have described the vibe a bit better. Popular Post marcolastrauman
Hi there mates, Super Apology for the super delayed follow up post. I hope you are still interested in hearing the last part of my previous trip. The reason for not posting is actually not because I forgot, but because i was frustrated to start again... what happened is that I already typed several paragraphs then all of the sudden i hit the BACK button, my spontaneous blubbering was all gone. haha. imagine the frustrations.... Anyway.... So it was July 27 (Monday) my last night in Bangkok, I took a flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and arrived sometime late afternoon. Landed in Don Muang Airport, and what I have said before, it's better to take the BUS towards Mo Chit station, the travel was smooth as I already know where to go. I checked in again in my favorite Hotel (Tarntawan Place), but did not get an upgrade this time. But either way, service was great. As this is my 'nth time in Bangkok, I prefer to have a change for tonight and visit the most famous Saranrom Park... My expectations were very high 'coz just a search of this park in google provided a lot of reviews. I arrived in the park around 7PM, the park was still open so I went in. I made 2 rounds walking. it was a good exercise, but i was not there for that. I understand that the scene is happening outside of the park and not inside. I then had a stroll outside and there was this lean guy in view, standing, i got excited coz he seems to look good from afar, but as i walked closer i knew in me that it wont be him, he went near me and talked to me in Thai, i said "No habla" just kidding, i said I don't speak thai. he smiled and said again, where are you going? i pointed to Sanam Luang as my response. I walked away. He was not my type. he's okay but not my type. he is like around 26 -28. My type are twink ones (18-23). A few step away there was this guy sitting in the bench, he hurried to put powder on his face, he was still in the middle of putting it in his face when i passed by, he looked like a geisha to me, white face all over with a dark neck, so I smiled at him , he looked embarrassed, because I know he knew that he looked ridiculous with that powder in his face. I made another round and it was already 8:30PM and no one in site. So far i only saw 2. So i was feeling hungry and decided to eat at the nearby "gay restaurant" (according to the review) the name of the place is City Walk, the restaurant was a bit dark, i asked for steak but they don't have any. So I asked the waiter to give me something that is highly recommended. I was given a thai style fried noodle and it was really good. I was their first customer, I had a beer, exchanged glances to the cute waiter. he smiled. I was wondering if i can out him, but decided not to ask. It was a good meal, I would recommend that you pay them a visit, not expensive and you will feel very welcome. (this is not paid promotion, although i told the "manager" that I was impressed and i'll tell my friends about your restaurant) I did another round in the park but no avail. so I went straight to the night market which is just a few meters from the park. I heard some singing going on in the Sanam Luang, the singer was singing some english song so I went there and enjoyed the music for maybe 30 minutes, i left when i noticed that the people are wearing yellow shirts, it could be a political gathering, and I was wearing something RED. so yeah, i exit, took a taxi and went straight to DJ Station. it was a monday, 10PM, they asked for ID and I went in, I was the only one inside. i went to the 2nd floor i was alone!!!! i finished my "free" beer and went out, and said to comeback. I went straight to Dream Boys and had a beer, found a cute guy, for me he looked like Marchutavuth (search it guys) but he was busy talking to some korean girls. but was not offed... announcement was made that they are closing and i hurried to take him and ask him if he's bottom he said yes, so that's all i need to know. I paid the bar fine and tagged him along. He was asking the usual boy questions, where do you stay, how long, ... etc. Then I told him about the hotel that they require an ID to go, (not because he looks illegal young, i just told him so he can prepare) he said okay without a problem, so when we are inside the hotel he went to the front desk and tried getting some ID. BAD NEWS he don't have the ID. he lost or left it somewhere. and tarntawan was strict to implement the hotel policy, no id no entry. I understand and I was told with my dignity intact. So I said okay, let's go somewhere. the boy agreed. we just decided to eat and then later told him that i'm okay and tired no need to go to other hotel, he said no need to pay him and he was very apologetic. I felt cheated in a way that I already paid the bar fine for a nothing, and considering it's my last night in Bangkok, i wasted my entire night and got unlucky. and so I thought..... I decided to visit the Soi Twilight again with all the go go bars closed. but saw a bar open and ordered a beer, apparently some of the boys from the bars i visited prior was in front playing billiards. i had a fun time watching at them, with one cute guy smiling at me, so i smiled back. after he finished the game, he approached me and said hi, he is from Vietnam. he is 19, very handsome guy, and "straight". i ordered an 80 baht beer. and oh my, the guy who served the beer was another cutie, also 19, also from vietnam. hahahahhaha. i was the only customer in that bar so we had some fun talk, clean fun laugh. some street food cameby so i bought some chicken for us to share. it was a great moment. later that time it was already 2AM i decided to invite them to my room to have some fun. the boy and the waiter. hahahahaha. not only that they have ID they also have their PASSPORTS with them. so it was a fun wild night after all. we had fun until around 5AM. yes it took us until 5AM. hahaha i felt like a princess. RAPE is fun after all hahaha. it was also not bad, i gave them 800 baht each (all left in my wallet) and some 10 sing dollars each. so aroudn 1k baht each. My flight was at around 8PM the next day so I spent my morning going for some Ramen and some Foot massage. the boy made an offer but i refused. he was not my type. haha. I also went to lumphini park and did not sense anything. I went to airport tired but happy I spent around close to a thousand dollars for this trip. And oh. I'll be back sooner than I thought. Skipping Chiang Mai, but will go to Pattaya. KhorTose, paulsf, vinapu and 2 others
williewillie
It's good to have some 'young blood' posting, as many of us think 60 y.o. is still young. I'm assuming the 'rape' was marco bottoming, but it could have been the Vietnamese tops bottoming. I've found 'offing' tops sometimes only means he's a top when he's in his bar, around his friends. Sexual roles much more fluid these days, depending on multiple factors. Versatility is my gold standard and when I hear 'can do everything', I'm on board. After similar case few years ago / Nov 2013 / now when taking boy home I always ask if he has ID before we even leave massage or the bar. If you really fond of boy and he looks of age but has no ID on him there are always short time rooms st Suriwong hotel available for world peace discussion. You're missing the good part The keyboard issues are a pain on my iPad. Whilst I'm typing the keyboard sometimes disappears and I end up clicking a link and losing my post. It can be a real pain.
