TotallyOz Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I do wonder how this will affect data and plans around the world. They are saying that calls will be based on data used and that 10 USD for 1G is paid and even if the sim in used in Thailand. I have always hated the rates for International calls and calling. This may (or may not) be the solution. Has anyone used this? Signed up for it? I'd love some detail when someone actually gets on the system and tries it. Quote
firecat69 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Had ATT for years and switched recently to TMobile. Very Happy. Most I pay for any international calls at home or when traveling is 20 cents a minute and many are free. Text messages are free and data rolls over so when in the USA I hardly use any and I have tons to use when traveling. Only problem is Thai boys can't call you because ether would have to pay international rates so I still need to bring a phone with DTAC when I travel to Thailand. Quote

TotallyOz Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 Not to be a spoil-sport but doesn't this and several other new posts in Gay Thailand belong somewhere else such as the Beer Bar? Maybe. But, I think this project may have lots of implications to Thailand as for me, when I get one, I'll be using it to call the Thai boyfriend for free instead of using Skype. To me, saving money to call LOS is relevant to things about Thailand and why I started it here instead of the beer bar. I don't call too many other countries but I would love a phone which I don't need to shut off when I go to Thailand as the data roaming on this phone package works in Thailand at the same rate as the data rates in the USA. To me, this is a big step for those of us that are from USA and travel to Thailand. Quote
kokopelli Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 The other topic in GayThailand was Travel to Places Other Than Asia. Not sure how that one relates to Thailand? Point is, why bother having sub forums if they are not used? Better to just eliminate the sub forums. The Gay Thailand Business and Gay Asia forums are examples of too much is too much. Just a suggestion for the owner of this forum. ChristianPFC 1 Quote

Guest abang1961 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I am from Singapore. The 2 apps that is currently used a lot here is Whatsapp and Wechat. As long as there is an internet connection, it is marvellous. Line is popular in Taiwan but I dislike the proliferation of advertisements in it. If I am in China, I just use Wechat and QQ... Quote
