TotallyOz Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I was told when I first visited LOS to watch out and if in any accident just know that the foreigner is to blame. I read this today and thought of that lesson. http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/family-selling-calgary-man-s-belongings-to-cover-fees-after-thailand-crash-1.2343303 Quote
biguyby Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Such a very tragic and sad news story. Insurance is a necessity when driving vehicle in any country but I'm not sure how good the insurance companies in Thailand are at paying out even if you pay for a policy. Quote
Guest abang1961 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 That is horrible. As a foreigner who does not know the law of the land, we are at a disadvantage. Compound that with a lack of the native language, the poor guy is simply hapless. Yes we should always have travel insurance to cover for flight delays and medical expenses. I wonder why this guy is resting in the hostel rather than the hospital ... the authorities demanded upfront? This is worst than death .. to be blame for the death of others.. Is it a traffic violation to have 3 on a bike? Tell me that this guy isnt fleeced? Quote
