paulsf Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Christian, happy to hear what you said about discussing time and tip. I never talk about time or money. I consider myself as paying the average rates. I tend to like sleeping alone, so don't encourage overnights. I have a boy that now stays with me, my entire trip. When we met a couple years ago, he was always short time. This past spring he said he wanted to stay all night. I agreed and now I have a full time companion. I pay what I feel is the going rate. He has never asked for more. Before him, I never had a boy question what I gave him. ChristianPFC and vinapu 2 Quote
farangyai Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Similar to Paulsf, I never talk about time or money generally. I also prefer to sleep alone, but on occasion if I know the boy well and he asks to stay over, I normally accomodate. Sometimes if a former gogo boy visits from out of town and I have know him a long time, he normally stays with me. I really value some of those contacts and have a better time then because I am more relaxed as is he. I know him-he knows me. I can count on one hand the number of offs who have discussed money. By the way, I really enjoyed all the trip reports. It makes me homesick for Thailand! vinapu and ChristianPFC 2 Quote
vinapu Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 I never mention time, and unless boy asks I don't discuss tip. So technically the boy I off doesn't know how long I want him to stay with me and how much I will tip. But I guess I am an average demanding customer and average tipper. In the last two years, all over-nighters were the boy's choice. I can understand that a boy asks how much he will get, but I never had a boy ask how long it will take, and I would interpret this as a bad omen and unless he is a stunner reject him. Since I almost exclusively off for long time in order to avoid early leavers I always warn them that I want long time. From time to time boy does short time only so we don't have a deal. In this trip I had only one boy offed knowing he will not do long time / from Tawan / and one who reneged on deal and left after 1.5 hr / fromXSize/. I also never had a boy asking if this will be short or long time but this is owing to fact that time question is usually my second right after ' do you want to go with me'. I agree that boy asking question how long it will take would be bad omen and offing him were courting disaster but few times when boy agreed on long time indicated up front that he must leave at certain hour in the morning which I don't mind as long as I'm warned up front. Even managed to squeeze extra hour from boy from Zeus who wanted to leave at 5 but I told him 'till six minimum' , he agreed and left at 6.03 Quote

ChristianPFC Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 escorts charge by time (and sometimes by activity) elsewhere. This is not quite the case yet in Thailand - but at least there is the short/long term difference. I like terms to be discussed (both money and time) beforehand to spare me some surprises. I have heard or read that elsewhere, but have no personal experience. Is Thailand unique in that you pay per transaction, and not per hours used? I meant that I don't discuss short time or long time. If a boy will go with me for short time and asked me how long exactly, I would send him back to the stage, without tip, unless he is marriage material. For those interested: my short times are usually 1 h spent in the my room. Quote

So if you tip 500 at Saranrom plus 200 cheapest short time room , boy costs you minimum 700 / hr. now I feel better, my shortest long time off last trip was 6 hrs / 11-5 /, no off fee, tip 3500 including massage , cost 583 / hr, I did not realize I'm so frugal .LOL biguyby 1 Quote

To me, it is not a simple task of making money in your sleep... There is a lot of HARD work involved.. pun intended.. But then again, who am i to discuss on tipping/offi-ing wonderful Thai guys? One of more memorable negotiations I had was with a guy from Tawan: "You cum - I go, ok?" That would be a poor start. I know the boys wants as much money as possible in as little time as possible, but if a boy asked me how long exactly the short time will be, then I would send him back. Hasn't happened so far. I made a mistake a while ago in a massage: the boy was reticent to take his shirt off, then he asked me how much I would tip, agreed to 1000 Baht, then asked if I could tip 2000 (no!), then was reticent to take his pants off. I should have stopped and proceded with just massage. With more poor than good experiences with moneyboys, I am looking carefully for hints that I will not end happy, and if I have to enter detailed negotiations (started by the boy) about time and money, that is such a hint. How long I will keep the boy? Until I am done! paulsf, kokopelli and vinapu 3 Quote
Guest Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 UK current minimum wage is £6.50 per hour and I'm told escorts want at least £100~120 per hour, so at least 15.5 hours work @ minimum wage. Thai minimum wage is 300 baht per day. I don't know how many hours, so lets assume 8, ie 37.5 baht per hour. So 1000 baht is 26 hours and 1500 baht is 40 hours. Perhaps that's why more people advertise their services in parts of Thailand. As for them negotiating, well they are entitled to do just that & it's no bad thing if they have reasonable expectations. However, when this happens, I've often turned them down. That's either because they asked for almost double the going rate or more frequently because I doubted they were going to be good company. After all, those who are good company will be usually be tipped well, so most of them don't even raise the subject. Quote

How long I will keep the boy? Until I am done! I must say that with massage boys I rarely if ever had problem with cutting time short, even if all was finished before time purchased elapsed they at least asked what we do now and always were willing to spend remaining time cuddling and feeling each other. With go-gos not so rosy and I agree with Christian that sometimes they try to maximize income and minimize time but to their credit I must say those short cutters are still rather small minority. Starting negotiations about time and money is rare but again I agree that this is hint that they may be too commercial although on few occasions boy asked how much I will give him, which I have no problem answering. To their credit again I don't recall situation that they tried to bargain , I on another hand quite often try to bargain them down. I usually ask them up front how much they want and need to say that old answer ' up to you ' slowly but surely is giving way to some monetary quotation and if they are trying too high I'm not shy to bargain. Rarely they are going over board though although I had Tawan boy who wanted 3000 for 1 hr and he was not top of their line. We settled down a bit lower / 2500 for 2 hr, still too much /, he was great but still tried to leave before negotiated end, which is not what I like. If you ask me , I'd prefer if numbers are discussed up front and wouldn't mind Japanese style of price list nailed somewhere in the bar. Quote

This is not universal as I recall quite a few cases when boy was unreasonable, settled down on much lower rate than he originally requested / like half / and still kept his part of bargain after that. I don't mind them trying to skin me alive and probably at times they get some newbie who will pay whatever they want, thing I hate is when something is negotiated and than story is changing in order to leave earlier or not do what they promised to. But this is mercifully rare though. Quote

Boys who negotiate do so because they got low tips in the past, because their performance was poor! Travellerdave Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Over the years I have had very few problems about tips and money. I put this down to usually paying at the top end of the going rate and also very often agreeing the figure beforehand. I remember however a difficult confrontation with a boy I offed from Kaos in Pattaya about seven years ago. It was my final night before going home and I wasn't intending to have a boy overnight but when I visited a gogo i saw a really gorgeous twink who agreed to go with me for 2000 LT. The sex was great with kissing, rimming, sucking and finally me topping him. He went in the shower and emerged seeing me preparing another condom for use in the morning (I dont like fumbling about in the dark doing this). He said What you do - I go - you pay me now. I pointed out that the agreement was for LT and offered him 1500. He came out with a load of abuse and was quite threatening. In the end I had to pay the 2000 and was a little shaken by the experience. I left Pattaya early next day even though i had an evening flight because I know its wise not to get Thais angry. Quote
Guest LoveThailand Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 That's unpleasant, Dave. The closest I got to getting a Thai angry was in one of Jomtine bars - it was an early evening, I went to a bar, a boy joined me at my table - I bought him a drink and he asked to be offed. I told him I am not ready since the night is young and I want to go to other places - told him just maybe later. As the night progressed, I found another company for the evening/night and as we were walking along the bars the boy confronted me accusing of breaking a previous promise to off him. It was rather unpleasant - I was trying to tell him I have never made a firm promise etc. We had to walk away rather hastily and I kept away from that bar/area for the remaining day or two in Pty Quote

I either say "yes" or "no". I found the Thai guys disliked the word IMO and would rather be told definitively. Then if the potential for another off comes along, they know where things stand. They can sometimes be stubborn about what they may regard as a promise. So trying to understand their point of view, I tell them directly. It seems to work better. vinapu and ChristianPFC 2 Quote

I like your approach and I'm using the same, no games. If I invite boy to sit with me I always tell him up front that either we only watch the show together and after that he is free because I'm not offing anybody or we watch the show and than he goes with me. No drama , no disappointments. It helps that usually I know very fast if I'm interested in anybody in the line or not. I taker mercy on boys and let them know my intentions fast so they can focus on other clients if I'm not interested in. Quote
Travellerdave Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Farangyai... Yes thats a common situation. You sit with a boy in a bar or gogo and buy him a drink. Hes attractive and you are intending to off one for the night. However its only 9pm and you dont want him with you for the next few hours as maybe you will see another even more hot and maybe something will occur to change your mind. You tell him "maybe" which suits you but not him. He later is disappointed and resentfull that you didn't turn up. Of course it can go the other way - you go back later and are disappointed that he has been offed or maybe he is sat with another customer who is fondling him, and you go back to the hotel to sleep alone. vinapu Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 ...saw a really gorgeous twink who agreed to go with me for 2000 LT. . my approach to long time and I almost exclusively off long time is to tell boy that in the morning we will have breakfast together. This does the trick of letting him know what I mean by the long time and gives them a chance of presenting their own time limits if any. Usually does the trick although I had an exception in December by the XSize boy who left after 1 hour or so. In the morning it's boy's choice if he goes for breakfast with me or not, usually they do, if they don't it's their loss. I must say that in 10 trips massage boys offed never cut me on time but go-gos from time to time did - on two occasion last trip reported above. Quote
