vinapu Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 You are right, airport pick up and guide price was rip off compare to what's available but I guess those prices are in sync with what you pay for an accommodation. If you are sleeping in 20 $ hotel , they likely arrange for 3-4 $ airport pick up and 15$ sightseeing. So don't feel ripped off, prices went with territory. Good to know that MEN 's massage is superb. I could spend week wandering around Angkor ruins but it's not for everybody , we all have our indulgences. Angkor ruins impress even people who do not like this type of sightseeing, truly unique place. GoldMember 1 Quote

If I had more time and patience for planning then the correct action is to book the tours directly from a guide and not using the hotel as a middleman. Waiting to hear about PP, going there for my 1st time in Dec and trying to decide where to stay that is good and inexpensive.... sounds like quite a trip you had.... I got tired just thinking about all the airport checkins, lol Oh how I envy you... PP was one of my favorite destinations in this trip. I'll write about it soon. Indeed it was quite a trip. I have returned almost 3 weeks ago and I still haven't totally recovered. And you are right,13 Check-ins can be tiring I'll refer to accommodation on z909 comment. Silver River Hotel. I just looked at this hotel online and it seems like a good and inexpensive hotel. It is very centrally located. The resort I have stayed (Rambutan) is in a less central location and more expensive. But, It has other advantages (4 star, pool, near Arthur and Paul). Also, as I mentioned, when contacting them directly you get a much better price (I have the manager contact details if you want). I'll write more about it on my report and it may help you decide. vinapu 1 Quote
Guest Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Rambutan looks more expensive, but you probably get more for that expense. The place looks very nice. Silver River is central and well located for the bars, being just around the corner from Blue Chilli. Rambutan looks closer to the sauna. I booked directly with Silver River by e-mail. After enquiring about prices and policies by e-mail, they said there was a $5 joiners fee. I negotiated the price AND had the joiners fee removed before booking. I believe some lower rooms have no windows, but I've never stayed in those. The rooms on the upper floors are very good for the money and that's probably something else to confirm when you book by e-mail. Quote
Popular Post GoldMember Posted October 14, 2014 Author Popular Post Posted October 14, 2014 So it’s holidays (yes, again) and I will now start writing about PP. First, I'd like to share with you a conversation I had yesterday with the guy I've been in Manila. Since our weekend together we still keep chatting on FB and sending dirty pics to each other. After some dirty talking, he asked me as followed: Him: I have a serious question for you. Me: OK. Him: r u HIV positive? Me: No, why? Him: Be honest, I won't mind. Me: No, last negative test was July 14. Why? Him: Just curious. J Me: After more than a month, you ask me this now… U surly have a reason. Did something happen? Him: No. I'm clean. It's just that you always insisted that we do it safe. At a certain point I started thinking that maybe you are positive and just protecting me. WTF?! I really like this guy but the logic here is so ignorant. He thinks I'm positive because I'm careful. So according to his logic, people that are not insisting on safe sex are negative. That's a sure way for spreading AIDS worldwide. Rest of that conversation was just me performing sex education. LOL. Play safe! And use proper lubes And now, on to Gay PP. Arrived at Phnom Penh at the late Saturday afternoon and took a taxi (12 USD) to Rambutan Resort (45 USD - rate from owner). Traffic was bad. I arrived to Rambutan to discover that I got upgraded to a room with a balcony and a hot tub which was really nice. Hotel is managed by a gay couple a Thai (that I booked through) and an American. They also were helpful by recommending where to party that Saturday night. Nice pool and good service. No problem with joiners. There was a young 23yo guy that I started texting with while I was in pain in Boracay. We kept on chatting for several days until I arrived and he wanted to meet me when I landed. I made it previously clear that this is a friendly drink since I am not into him (too young, too slim). When he came to pick me up I expected a scooter. He came in a large Lexus SUV. Guess he was a rich local guy. Drove the city a bit and had drinks. After, I went by myself to the night market. Again, as always, it's ok to visit but surly nothing special there (actually I think the only market I really enjoyed besides Chatuchak was Taipei's night market). From there, by the recommendation of the locals and the hotel manager, I went to see the show at Blue Chilli bar at 10PM (free). They had nice standard gay shows. Met there some Local guys and went with them to Heart of Darkness (free) at about midnight. That club is considered as a mixed club in the gay listings but what I saw there mostly gay people. It is also gay owned and owner was nice and friendly. Club was great. Finally, a real club, packed with people, no high tables at the middle, excellent electronic music. Danced till 4AM. Didn’t want to go with any of the Khmer boys that I came with except one which he was already taken for the night so I went back to my hotel, really drunk and started Grinding. Got a Grindr offer from another resident (muscular, Asian, my age) of the hotel to have fun at the pool. That turned me on a bit. The hotel pool is public and at the center of all rooms so everybody that enters must pass by it. Guess a little risk turns me on. We great fun at the pool and went to my room to fuck. That night a miracle happened. Well I don't know if it's the alcohol, the arousing massage in SR that noon or something else but I came inside the condom. For me it was the first time in my life. That was so much better then always cumming outside on the body/mouth of the guy I'm with (except my BF). I'm much more of a late cummer than early cummer and never succeeded before on cumming with a condom on. Surprisingly, I restored that night's success with my BF a few days ago (since we are still fucking safe – 17 more days to go!). He was surprised too. LOL. The next noon I went to the Russian market (waste of time – I really need to learn not to go to these places) and later on to the Tuol Sleng Genocide museum. That place was hard for me. I knew that if this hard for me to handle, killing fields the day after will be terrible (and so they were). After I went to check the local sauna – LoveSpa. That place is packed with local guys between 6-8PM. The reason for these weird specific hours is that most of them are local married guys coming home from work and stopping by for some fun on the way. I came there with a local guy I talked to that wanted to come with me because it's his first time and he wants to try it. Sauna is packed with people. Probably 100 locals were there that evening and I was the only foreigner. Most of them are too young and too skinny for me but I'm sure some will find this place very attractive. After having realized that the I came with is my best option in that sauna we went back to my hotel and had fun. Later he took me to his apartment and we had dinner with some of his friends. The next day I went to the killing fields with a car and a guide (20+20 USD) that I booked through Rambutan. That place was horrible. The only thing that may resemble that experience was the concentration camp tour I did in Poland 13 years ago as a high school student. Still, there is a difference. Nowadays, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Majdanek and the rest of the camps are more sterile and museum like. The killing fields are still raw. Walking there I stumbled upon old cloths and bones that were sprouting from the ground. After hearing the horror stories and seeing those sights I then realized that all Cambodians above 45 are probably somehow traumatized as my grandparents were and those living still are. This day trip changed something in my view of the Cambodian people. They still are a recovering post-traumatic nation - even if you don't see it - it's there. After I came back to my hotel I went to rest from that shaky experience. In the afternoon I met with a local guy that I already started talking to a day before I arrived to PP. That guy had the body of a god and a so-so face. But when a body is that impressive – I don't care that much about the face. The reason I was hesitant regarding meeting him is that he was really moving fast our first conversation – wanted to pick me up from the airport, and show me the city. This kinda creeped me out but after continuing chatting with him later I just learned that he is a really nice guy that is attracted only to Caucasians and just really wanted to meet me. So I decided to meet him. He had a complicated name so I just called him Hercules. LOL. Well I thought I'd have enough time finishing this report now but I have too much to write so I'll finish reporting PP and this entire post probably during the weekend, Happy holidays ChristianPFC, TMax, splinter1949 and 2 others 5 Quote
vinapu Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Happy Holidays to you ! Great report and still keeping us in suspense waiting for more. As for planning vacation, don't worry about overpaying from time to time due to flawed logistics. I found long time ago that best vacations are ones with little plan, just wake up and see what happens that day. You right about help of ignorance to spread HIV , exactly as described above. GoldMember Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 You right about help of ignorance to spread HIV , exactly as described above. I am sure that my sex-ed practices won't change anyone's sexual behavior. But still, I can't help myself and sometimes I preach, probably to clear my own conscious. Cause for example, that Filipino guy is about my age and probably heard and knows everything about safe sex but he chooses to take the risk. In that manner, some Israelis are not different then him. Went yesterday with my BF to a big holiday slutty party. We went in the dark room for some fun and saw that most of the people fucking there were without condoms so we decided to stay on the more observing side of the action. I try to avoid judging people, but this feels so stupid... vinapu 1 Quote
Popular Post GoldMember Posted October 17, 2014 Author Popular Post Posted October 17, 2014 Ok, so I now will continue and finish my report regarding PP and my entire trip. Went with Hercules for coffee and cupcakes in a really nice place near the city lake and then he took me on his scooter to see more of the city. Lots of heavy capitalistic construction going these days in PP (especially in Diamond Island). It looks like this city is going to be much more developed in 5-10 years. During that ride he put his hand in my pants and gave me, what I call "a bottom's smile". I can recognize that certain smile everywhere in the world. It's a smile that represents an inner thought of a bottom that knows he's going to get the dick that he is feeling/seeing in his ass. Love that smile! After that we went for dinner at my hotel. Food in Rambutan was surprisingly good (dinner and breakfast). We had a really hot night together stating in the outdoor tub of my upgraded room then on to the hotel pool (risky again LOL) and finally in bed. Body exactly as pics – Hercules. Did notice that his back had steroids wounds. Well, being Hercules has its price. He really wanted to film him sucking me and getting fucked. I agreed only if I was the camera man so that my face does not show up (didn't want a film of mine out there online…). That was also hot and in the morning we watched again the film together and that made us horny again. After breakfast (they didn't charge me for guests' breakfasts' which was nice), he went to work and I continued sleeping until noon. At noon I went to the royal palace. Apparently Royal palace was closed at noon and reopened at 2PM. At first I thought it's a tuk tuk lie that its purpose is to get more money from me but actually it does open at 2 PM. I strolled PP's streets and entered a pharmacy. I already talked to a Canadian guy that day that I wanted to meet at night but I was so sexually tired I did not know if I'm up for the mission. I decided to check if I can find any natural or chemical boosters inside a local pharmacy. Surprisingly, Cambodia sells Zeagra (a Viagra substitute) over the counter (1.5 USD for 4 pills). The pharmacist assured me it's the same active ingredient. I researched online a little and found out that is true but that I got a high dosage of the pill (100MG). After that pharmacy adventure and coffee I went back to the royal palace. That place is impressive and is worth a visit (3 USD). Don't be a stupid tourist like me and come with a tank top because then you'll pay 2 USD for a shirt you will never wear. After that at the afternoon I went to Arthur and Paul's Sauna. That place is next door to Rambutan resort. I originally wanted to stay there but they are much more expensive (starting at 110 USD a night). They have really nice and maintained sauna facilities. All very modern and decorated. Problem is – not enough people (maybe because of low season). Had some fun with two young local boys that seemed to be a couple but claimed they were just very good friends that have fun together (but the chemistry of them was really passionate). I advised them to try and have a relationship since they really like each other and also have great sex together. They laughed and said they’ll think about it. At the evening I wanted to try the gym. I saw in the gay listing that there is a good gym called "The Place" (15USD for single entrance!). It's funny that the fanciest gym I've ever seen in my life is in a simple and humble city like PP. I wanted to get a free entrance claiming that I want to try the gym before I consider doing an annual membership but that didn't work (it did work in Saigon and usually everywhere in the world). Of course, all the people I saw there were expats. Locker room and shower seemed cruisy. Usually at home I work out 4 times a week. But during my trip I probably visited the gym only 5 times (one time in each big city) so I ended up losing about 5KG in total which is a lot for me. When I returned home, My BF said that my body turned a little Asian (excluding my cock) LOL. I'm used to losing weight when travelling – since I eat as much as I eat at home but instead of sitting all day I do stuff all day. This time I really tried not to lose weight because I really worked hard on gaining it during the past year but was unsuccessful and now I have to work hard again at home. So, when travelling, supposedly, there is no good reason for me to work out cause without consuming large amounts of food I'm just losing weight so weight lifting work outs won't have any effect on me. Even so, there are several reasons why I do like working out in local foreign gyms when travelling (and I also recommend it for others). The first is that I have a weird gym fetish and I like to just see all the different machines and weights every country has to offer. The second reason and probably the most important one is that everywhere in the world metropolitan gyms are gay and a good place to try finding hot guys or just enjoy the eye candy. The last reason and the one that motivated me the most that evening is that I really like working out before fucking. This particular reason has two sub-reasons: the first is that I enjoy seeing my self, more muscular and pumped when fucking (body stays more pumped for several hours after weights workout). And the second is that seeing other sexy men lifting weights makes me horny J. So, I had a nice one hour workout over there (some very sexy expats were working out that evening – made me really horny) and went to buy a bottle of red wine for my Canadian night date. The 25yo Canadian guy that I had a date with was actually a guy I laid my eyes on during my first evening at the Heart of Darkness club but he was with someone there who I assumed to be his BF. After grinding a bit I happily discovered my mistake. He was pretty, thinly toned, taller than me (I usually don't enjoy fucking too tall people but he was not that tall) and had a beautiful 8 inch and thick cock (surely bottoms would have enjoyed it – I enjoyed sucking it).I got to my room, started filling the hot tub and decided to give my new sex booster a try. As I said, at that point, I was so sexually tired that I wasn't sure how much I can handle an all-nighter and I really wanted a long session with this cutie. I read online that a normal first trial dosage is 25-50 MG. I split my 100MG into two pieces and took the smaller piece (pill does not have a split line). That thing worked WAY better than I expected. I literally was able to fuck him for hours. I don't know how much of its impact is psychological but I am sure that for some reason it kept on working even 7 hours after I took it which was already the time of our late morning fun. I was really surprised how well it worked. I think I'll take the second and bigger half on my BF's B-Day and surprise him. LOL. The chemistry with that cutie was surprisingly intense and hot – I usually don't succeed on having this with guys his age (I know it's just 5 years difference but I find that these years are crucial in terms of sexual maturity). That was a great way to finish my Cambodian visit. I also gave that hot young guy one of my minimal bathing suits since it was really hot on him but only on the condition that he will send me hot pics of him wearing it. Got the promised pics last week J. After having breakfast together at the hotel and spending noon together at the pool I had to pack and leave for my final Asian airport – BKK. PP is a very interesting destination to visit. It is rich in awful and interesting history but also at the same time fun, somewhat gay, and still has a unique half urban half old culture. This concludes my report as I already reported my final destinations: Pattaya and BKK in my previous post. Writing about my trip was fun. Not as fun as actually being there but it's still nice in a different way. Thinking of my trip, I am somewhat surprised about my-self – at home I am a more introvert, shy person. I guess being alone and far allows you to discover hidden parts of your true self. I hope this post was enjoyable to read and also helpful for future travelers. I will surly come here to read it once in a while and remember all the nice adventures I had. P.S I will probably stop visiting this forum in several days and resume the next time I will visit Thailand for more advice, planning and reporting. Hopefully it will be this summer – I'm working very hard to convince my BF on that since he prefers boring Europe. Anyway, if later on anyone wants advice or to ask a question regarding any of the destinations I've been (or needs advice about gay Tel Aviv) just send me a private message which I will also get to my mail and I'll reply. Thanks for all the advice regarding Thailand and planning this trip. Alexx, splinter1949, 1moRussian and 5 others 8 Quote

GoldMember Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 In your tender age you are treating yourself with Zeagra or whatever ? I don't think it's necessary , give yourself some credit and live pills for us old folks. Well, it was my first time. I used it because I know my limitations and I really pushed my body to it's edge at certain points of this trip and at that point I wanted more than my body can handle. You would be surprised how many people my age use it during long hour sex parties in order to push beyond their normal abilities. Not planning on using it for now - maybe just for special occasions I hope you can return to South-East Asia soon - I'm looking forward to read more from you. Oh I will surly return to SE Asia - it's just a matter of time, money and working hard on convincing my BF. Actually yesterday was my first breakthrough with him regarding our next summer vacation; After talking about some other destinations that we are both interested in visiting he brought up Singapore. Singapore sounds a little too clean and sane for me but marriage is about compromise. And of course - no direct flight from Tel Aviv to Singapore so if we decide on visiting there we must pass through BKK. There is no way I will allow us landing in BKK without visiting the city for a few days. But it's still too early for planning so I am taking my moves on this negotiation slowly and thoughtfully... Or else, God forbid, I'll find myself in Paris next summer LOL. Thanks all for the feedback And thank you Vinapu for encouraging me to write! vinapu 1 Quote

Guest LoveThailand Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Two words: thank you. Tons of information and very well written. Quote
a447a Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Just a couple of points about Japan, a subject I know quite well. First, the OP's observations were, by and large, spot on and equate to my own experiences. However I think Tokyo is cheaper than Paris or London. If you know where to go you'll find food and clothing in particular very cheap. Visitors wouldn't know where to go so end up paying higher prices. Drinks and transport can be expensive but, as the OP correctly pointed out, invest in a Japan Railpass - it's the bargain of the century. Regarding the temples in Kyoto, I can understand exactly where the OP is coming from. However, there is a way to enjoy the temples without being templed out. The technique is to choose temples / places which are unlike each other; e.g. I'd recommend visiting Kiyomizudera, Kinkakuji, Ryoanji, Nijo Castle and Ginkakuji. Each is different architecturally. Finally, one point I totally disagree with the OP on - Japanese guys preferring other Japanese guys is definitely not racist in the true sense of that word, just like farang preferring Asians is not racist. It's a choice based on race, but racism to me implies something very nasty and demeaning. There are reasons why Japanese prefer each other which I posted on another forum so will not bother repeating here. GoldMember 1 Quote
GoldMember Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 GM This is from the Singaporean... Our doors are always open to foreigners - young or old, LGBTQ... In fact, I played host to one of the forummers at the beginning of the month. His verdict - there are some interesting places here - he spent an entire afternoon at the Marina Bay area ....looking at the flowers and the swimming pool on top of the MBS ... I may have over simplified the reason I am not that eager on traveling to Singapore. I actually always wanted to visit Singapore. In fact, a local Israeli blogger just posted 2 weeks ago a very informative and exciting post regarding gay Singapore (link is with Google translate from Hebrew to English so it's a poor translation of his post) and after reading his post as well - I am sure it's worth a visit and that we will enjoy it there. The true reason I am not eager on visiting Singapore is that for an Israeli passport holder, there is nothing to do in that region except Singapore. I cannot enter Indonesia and Malaysia. So when I wrote that it is "too clean, too sane", it is just comparing to my imagined Malaysia-Singapore-Indonesia fantasy trip. Several years ago I thought I'd wait some years until they will allow us enter and then have a more intense trip at that region. But, nowadays, I understand that I will probably not witness peace during my lifetime in our region so waiting is just being naive. In addition, as i said, if flying to Singapore is what gets me to convince my BF to have several days in BKK - I am more than willing to take that extra mile Regarding the temples in Kyoto, I can understand exactly where the OP is coming from. Yes we surly got "templed out". LOL. Your temple plan sounds better than the ones we did. I'll recommend it for my friends travelling to Kyoto. Thanks! I understand what you mean and surly I am not judging or criticizing any one that has sexual/romantic preference for any race as I do my self have some preferences for certain races over others. However, I don't think I agree with your distinction between racism and preference for race. I am not saying that these are the same things but I do think that they blend without us even realizing that. I have several examples: Some of the Japanese that we hooked up with told us that some of their friends think that Caucasians are less clean and more shallow that's why they prefer other Japanese. So, when a certain race gets assigned with certain characteristics that may cross the border to racism. It worked the other way around elsewhere - as I previously mentioned, a Vietnamese guy wanted to me to take of the condom - because I'm white so I'm probably well educated and clean. Another example from my home: some of us Israelis, like having sex with Arabs (I am guilty of this preference as well). When talking about it, we always say how Arabs are like beasts in bed and that they are considered passionate and full of instinctive desire. In my opinion, these characteristics are a fruit of our developed imagination and also are racists whether we like it or not. In the sexual manner this racist preference works well for Arabs but it lowers them in the romantic manner since Israelis usually want them for sex and will less consider them as romantic partners (I am generalizing here). Finally, let's take a very common Caucasian sentence of preference - "I am NOT into Asians". I talked to lots of white people about this non preference (which thankfully I am not holding and I can enjoy Asian ass as much as I enjoy Caucasian ass). After having long conversations about this negative preference I think that there are some repeating motives which include the claim that Asians are too feminine, too small, and their dicks are too small. Even if some of these claims are statistically true, assigning them to an entire race and disqualifying them as sexual partners just upon that, is a sexual preference for race that is also somewhat racist - since it is not true for the entire Asian race. Of course, I am not comparing this form of mild racism to the more severe forms of racism, but I think that it is rather a spectrum than a distinction. What do you think? Can you post the link to the post you wrote about the reasons of Japanese sexual preferences? As you may have noticed, during my trip, I was really intrigued by the subject of racist preference and talked a lot regarding it with locals and foreigners - which also made me contemplate regarding my own preferences for race and their origins. And thanks again for the kind feedback regarding my reports vinapu, ChristianPFC and TMax 3 Quote
a447a Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 sawatdeenetwork.com - Global Forum - 24 Kaikan, Shinjuku, Tokyo. In the same forum I also did a trip report in May when I visited Shinjuku nichome with a farang friend. I was brought up in Tokyo but had never been there before - I go to other gay establishments in Tokyo with my Japanese friends. It was quite an eye-opener and reflects your own experience there. To me, racism involves hate. The Japanese don't hate westerners. However, by and large, they don't speak English. Plus they tend to be shy around foreigners and can connect much easily with their own without any hassles. Japanese culture has very strict guidelines which everyone adheres to. They fear a foreigner will not be aware of these guidelines and, in any case, they will not be able to communicate with them should they breech etiquette or any of the rules. I saw one foreigner enter the locker area without removing his shoes, and another inside the sauna walking around in the toilet slippers! It's just all too hard for them. So they decide to stick with each other. Racism is not a part of this decision. I hope you head off soon on another gay adventure. I'm looking forward to more posts! GoldMember 1 Quote
Guest abang1961 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Yes I do understand those "restrictions" in Malaysia and Indonesia... What you may want to do is to fly to Thailand and then take the budget flights (2 hr sitting in coach environment) to Singapore. I have to mention that the flight tickets (via Airasia, Tiger Airways, Jetstar and Scoot) can be ridiculously low... Also there are more places in Thailand..try Chiangmai up north.. that to me, is Nirvana.... **Tip: Airasia is one of the low cost carrier in Asia and the last time, I flew from Bangkok to Phuket for THB 900 (tax included)... that is like taking an hour flight for the price of an 8-hour bus journey. GoldMember Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 sawatdeenetwork.com - Global Forum - 24 Kaikan, Shinjuku, Tokyo. Found it! It was really interesting to read - I should have read your posts regarding Japan before travelling, it would have made things easier to understand and manage. Didn't know that another forum exists... feels like a parallel universe. LOL. Thanks! To me, racism involves hate. OK, so I think we just see racism a little different. For me racism is treating a person in a certain way (for better or worse) only because he belongs to a certain race. But, if indeed some Japanese people stick to each other only because of fear for their culture and rules - then racism is not involved in their decision - as you said. My impression was that there is more than that and there is some racism involved - some if it maybe unconscious and un-admitted. However, as I learned from your posts you are born and raised in Japan so I will accept your impression as it is obviously more profound than my 2 weeks impression I hope you head off soon on another gay adventure. I'm looking forward to more posts! Thanks! I hope so too! I plan on taking my BF by surprise to a gay weekend vacation in Europe on his 30th B-Day this February. At first I thought I'll take him by surprise to BKK for a weekend but the flights are really expensive for a relatively short trip. Besides, the thought of taking him to BKK for his birthday reminded me of an episode of "Married with children" when Al bought Peggy a bowling ball for her birthday. LOL. But as I said, I'm planning next summer and I'm doing everything I can to find a route that must include BKK (i.e. Singapore) vinapu 1 Quote
