TotallyOz Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I had a group of 3 friends who just spent one month at Tiger Muay Thai and have a fantastic time. They were not experienced in Muay Thai but they wanted to learn some basics but more than that, they wanted to get into shape. They all loved the program and the staff. They said the accommodations that were offered were pretty basic and they upgraded after one week to another place but other than that, the experience was great. http://www.tigermuaythai.com Quote
NIrishGuy Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Sounds like fun, but I hope they remember to take pics as they go so they don't end up with the same problem as this (lucky) guy when immigration in Phuket wouldn't let him leave the Country as they didn't believe it was the same person that they had allowed to enter as he had lost that much weight !! - lucky guy ! :-) http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/13/fat-boxer-who-lost-incredible-eight-stone-during-thailand-training-camp-detained-at-airport-because-no-one-believed-he-was-the-same-person-4726891/?ITO=facebook vinapu 1 Quote
williewillie Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I tried Muay Thai training . It was exhausting and difficult . Lots of kicking and I doubt many of us over 50 y.o. and out of shape could master it. The gym was pushing it and my trainer worked with me but I found it too much. I thought it could be an advantage if one got mugged /attacked but after a couple of lessons, I quit. Lots of woman were taking lessons too but only the younger, fitter men and woman lasted longer than a few workouts. TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 I guess a lot depends on what you want from it. If you are going to be a Muay Thai boxer, you are right, none of us would make it. If you use it to get into shape and enjoy the challenge, it can be done. I spent 2 months at a Muay Thai camp in Chiang Mai a few years back and loved it. True, I could not do everything the others could but I was able to keep up (although at the back of the pack). Quote
