Moses Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 did you spoke with guys from bkk-tours.com ? Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Thanks Moses. I needed one really quick and Firecat suggested I actually go to the airport office and I did. I was trying to book a flight on Air India but their website denied my CC as they said my IP was Thailand but the CC was USA. I called them to book it on the phone and they don't do it. Shocking right? So, I went to their office. Let me just say for a country with a lot of programmers, all their websites suck! Quote
Guest anonone Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 That is funny. You would think an airline, out of all business, would understand that people travel and need to purchase things. Glad it worked out. For future reference, you may want to consider a VPN service if it happens again. You can "change" your IP to the USA when you need transactions to go through. Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Actually, I did try the VPN that I use but the card was already blocked by them. They wanted me to send them a copy of the card via email to unblock. I said no. Also, they didn't take American Express as that was my other card I wanted to use but they only do MC and Visa. All in all, I was surprised at how crazy this was. Quote
Guest Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Credit card security is a real pain these days. 1 My bank blocked a debit card transfer to TD Direct when I was in Thailand last year. Despite me having made many payments to TD Direct over the last few years. They promised faithfully it would not happen again. 2 About 2 months ago, they blocked another payment to TD Direct, when I was in the UK. I'm getting mightily pissed off with this, as I had sufficient funds available and had a track record of payments to them. 3 Barclaycard blocked my card after a house insurance payment & a mobile phone top up. Surely any fool can write security software that recognises insurances will be renewed on an annual basis and also recognises if you give them a phone number, it might just be necessary to top that phone up sometime.
