Guest tintin
I'd like to know how to get to Pattaya from Bangkok. I'll arrive in Bangkok about 4:30 pm. Is it too late to travel to Pattaya? Is there transportation at the airport that goes directly to Pattaya? How long does the trip take? I've learned quite a bit about Pattaya from your city guides and would love to hear any new updates. Would 2-3 days be enough for the first time there? Many thanks.

Guest francois
Cher Tintin, You can arrange transportation in a number of ways. One means is through GemsPhon Taxi service. You can email them at gemsphon@loxinfo.co.th but better to call them. Unfortunatley I cannot find their number. No doubt others will respond to your post. Bus service is available from the airport but better to arrange for a taxi which will cost about 1500 Baht. 4:30 pm is a perfect time to arrive in Bangkok. Time to travel to Pattaya, get settled and then have fun. Travel time to Pattaya from Bangkok by taxi is less then two hours from the airport. Is 2 or 3 days enough for the first time? Well, 2 or 3 weeks would be better but you will have a great time in 2 or 3 days..

Guest MonkeySee
TinTin if you are looking for a gay bed and breakfast at a reasonable price, I would recommend Monty's bed and breakfast or Howard's.

Guest TomUK
I always take a taxi from the airport to Pattaya. At the new Suvarnabhumi airport you leave the customs hall and then take the escalators down to the next floor. Here you walk out of the building and then you will have to turn either left or right depending on where you exited the building. You just need to look for a row of waiting taxis and then head for the desk which you should see next to the first taxi. You will probably also see some other passengers waiting there for their turn. Just go to the desk and tell them you want to go to Pattaya. They will give you a receipt which you will have to handover to the taxi driver when you arrive at your destination. Your luggage will be taken to the next available taxi and you only need to sit down in the backseat and relax. Don't bother with the seatbelt. If there is one at all it usually does not work and as long as there is a Buddha figure somewhere on the dashboard you should be fine. In October I paid 1,300 Baht for the trip to Pattaya. This also included the fees for the toll roads. Some taxi drivers try to tell you otherwise but just ignore it. On the receipt you were given it states in plain Thai and English that all toll fees are included in the fare. You pay the driver when you arrive at your hotel and should you give him an extra 100 Baht as a tip nobody will complain. I made the trip to Pattaya on a Friday at about 4 o'clock PM and it took about 2 1/2 hours. We got stuck in some bad traffic jams a few miles outside Pattaya. I made the return trip on a Monday morning and it only took 1 1/2 hours. A good idea would be to have your hotel's telephone number at hand. You can give it to the driver when you arrive in Pattaya and he can call the hotel to ask for directions. Shortly after you have left the airport your driver will make a stop to fill up the tank. Most taxis seem to run on LPG and the drivers always fill up the tank before they go to Pattaya. Or am I the only one who always seems to pick a taxi with an empty tank? Guest stef
Or am I the only one who always seems to pick a taxi with an empty tank? TomUK Not really. Last time I took one, I lost about 30 minutes just because of that. I wasn't happy.

In realite the personnes who post here are good men , face a face.. I am certain you will have a wonderful time in Pattaya LMTU, what is your problem? Do you have a bug in your ass? Do you have sore balls because what I write on this forum or other forums? When I first read Tintins post no one yet responded. As I composed a response I searched the telephone number for GemsPhon in which I failed. When I clicked on "ADD REPLY ", Voila, you were number one and I was second. The potser is just making a fool out of all of you repliers. Hey my first time I needed to know how to get to Pattaya. So I'd rather give someone the benefice of the doubt. And even, if your statement were true (and I don't think it is) , then at least now there are phone numbers listed for others.

Guest tintin
Hi, Guys, Thanks for all the information, which is quite helpful for a first timer in Pattaya. I will be staying at Le Cafe Royale. It turns out that they have airport transfer service so my problem is solved. PS: you guys sound like a fun bunch. Wish I knew you personally, but I don't want to be the cause of an international incident.
Guest francois
Cher Tintin, You made the correct decison to have Cafe Royale provide transportation from BKK to Pattya. You will be in the heart of the action and will have a wonderful time. I envy you. The first time is the best time. But do not fall in love!!!! We all do.
