Feed you self with Street Food or Restaurant: this will always be one of the real questions to ask you self in Bangkok?

For me, it's very easy question to answer, because the street food has always been one of my favorite thing to eat in Bangkok. And for sure I will always choose street food first and this is just a fact. Part of this has to do with you will always find something new that you never try before in the street of Bangkok and this is just in my humble opinion.

When you visit Bangkok for the first time you will be amazed at your choices of where to eat. From street food stands to Gourmet Restaurants and everything in between. But now I will write only about my top 5 of Street Food.

In my opinion this is the city to be adventurous in. If you are willing to try new things then you will be amazed at the tastes you would never experience in any other city.

If you make the mistake of only eating in restaurants that cater to tourists then you will never have these wonderful experiences. Many of the farang-centered restaurants mostly serve bland food that will not excite your taste buds that I have experienced in the tourist areas of this great city.

Bangkok as so much to offer for guy's that want to live a culinary adventure like you never experienced before.

***Eat Local When you Travel***

That’s what I will always say!

As you walk the streets of Bangkok you will find these street vendors all over the city. Yes even in the fancy business areas, this is where Thais want to eat even if dressed in business attire. As you make your own discovery trough this city, you will find yourself a new hobby like it was in my case, Now that I love discovering new flavor of a new south east Asia like Noodle soup, BBQ pork, fish cakes and we can't forget all delicious curries that Thais have to offer on the menu.

Beware, if you do not like spicy food, don't be afraid to ask them to go easy on the spices. Just to be on the safe side I will tell you the how to say the words that will save you tongue   which are (ไม่เผ็ด /Mâi Pèt/) . They are  simple words but useful ones.

Because if you don't say it! You can count on it your dish will bathed in spices.

4) China Town is best after 7pm

5) Soi Nana  best after 7pm.

A little truth of Thailand Cuisine

And you must know this little fact that in Thailand you will find a big influence in to Chinese food like anywhere else in the world and I did the search the other day on the web their have as 2012 14% of Thailand is considered to be of Chinese ethnic.

There for it's a really big chunk of the heart of the Thai culture and you can't miss it if you look with your eyes open eyes and you really want to be part of that Chinese just go over Chinatown and find some best food that their have to offer for your pallet. And if you remember Chinatown is in my Top 5 Street Food of Bangkok.

How to know if it's a good place?

Normally the best street stands are the ones that are thriving with locals sitting at their tables or standing in line because usually it's a great sign that the food is awesome and full of flavor. Just take your wallet and go on a trill that you won't forget, this is a promise that I make to you.

If it's your first time in this City!

If you don't have any money with you do not worry! Primarily, in Bangkok you should regularly be able to exchange money anywhere in this town just ask your hotel there will direct you in the right direction if you don't where to go. Generally it will a few minute from where you live. Do not forget you won't need much!

The Street Food is normally between 20- 60 baht. In US $ this is the equivalent 30 cents to $2. That's is really unbelievable!!

OK! Let’s say you got 3000 in pocket and can make sure that's lot of cash for this city. Because the street is inexpensive like the main chain restaurant that you will see all over the city. You can imagine all the food you could buy with 3000, if your meal cost 35 baht, because I made the count for you the other day and I could get 85 meals and this is a lot'ssss.

You see this 3000 could feed your self with a new dish at every meal at anytime that you wish. This is the greatest deal that you will ever see in your life.

Home Food or Thailand Food

Look at the difference of when I was home and made the choice that I was gone a go eat out for lunch. For the same amount of money that we talk a few lines before I will only get about 3 different dish and I won't have much food in my plate this is just a hard fact that I realize and also once I’m done feeding my self with my meal that I order, I always get out the door still hungry and I can only say that isn't right.

So get out there and try something different. Eat where the Thai's go and be amazed with new flavors and how much food you get for such little amount of money.

Every week I will give you a description of All My top 5 street food places in Gay Bangkok.

First Week (Central World)

Second week(Silom Rd.and around)

Third Week (Kaoh San Rd. and Soi Rambuttri)

Fourth week(The ChinaTown)

Fifth week (Soi Nana and around)

Fallow Me in this adventure and you won't regret it.

If you got any idea for me to go try please let me know!

Devint, I did ask my two boyfriends and they both agreed with you. They said they had much prefer to eat the street food as well.

I am not as adventurous as you but I do admire your willingness to try the Thai way to eat! Can't wait to see more of your street food stories. Thanks for sharing!

Great job Devint, waiting for your series impatiently

My 2 cents:

as part of Silom street food experience I'm  fun of Convent street food stalls

additional advantage of street food is that one's  boy will feel more comfortable eating there then in restaurant of your choice where he will be stared at by half of farangs dining there. At least this is my observation. Usually if I ask them where they want to eat answer is as one expects  'up to you ' but I always tell them bluntly  -this time is up to you,you tell me , I just pay.

I have seldom regreted being a vegetarian BUT when I walk along Suriwong Road between Soi Twilight and Patpong 2 late at night the aromas from the stalls is so tantalising I think ---- "maybe just for one night I can be naughty". But I've been strong so far.

Actually, some of those curries must be vegetarian --- mustn't they?

If I'm out alone at night, I'm under strict instructions to bring home a 40 Baht takeaway from the noodle man opposite the big 7- Eleven in Soi Convent. I've no idea what is in the bag --- I handed the phone to the noodle man the first time for instructions and ever since then, when he sees me approaching, he just asks "how many?". The food is double bagged so that the smell doesn't drive the taxi driver mad.

He isn't there much before 10 and seems to start packing up at about 2:30.
