How do you Weed Through the Bad Boys on Gay Romeo?

I have not met many guys over Gay Romeo over the years but the ones I did not not look as good as the photos. However, a friend of mine finds great guys on it all the time. What kind of patience does it take to find the great guys? Do you wait for them to contact you or do you contact them?

 

Lastly, as some of you know, I like Bad Boys but not dangerous boys. Have you found some masculine guys there? The Alpha Male Superstars? Or, is it only for the gay boys?

Since I consider myself somewhat of an expert?  First I look for photo shopped pics which can be a bad sign but not always. I look for photos that don't match the age and usually eliminate them.  If the hair is too long I tell them I like Boys not Ladyboys which are you.

 

I always tell them they must look like photo or I will send them away with only 100 baht. This works 90% of the time . If you don't get a reply it is because they know they will get next to nothing.  I pay attention to the Guestbook especially good comments from someone who met them. There are a lot of wasted comments in the Guestbook.  

 

Many Thai boys do not understand the site so they don't know they can remove negative comments.  If guestbook has been disabled that is a strong indication that I am not interested.

 

Gayromeo has so many things you can specify in your search that you can search for muscle. Many Thai boys don't understand what they selected but many do.

 

I find they are very good with height and weight and usually with body style.

 

I don't let the age range they selected effect whether I make contact .  I have met many nice boys who selected 18-30 .

 

Practice makes perfect .  I got some duds when I first started but now my success is pretty high.  I always ask if they work. If they work in a Bar then you can almost be sure their pics are good.  

 

In pattaya there are so many money boys I only ask if they work bar because most of the time if they don't they are Professional money  boys (ok with me)

 

I find BKK completely different.  I find very few Bar Boys and a lot of real students .  If not students they have a real job. This makes it harder to meet up because of  when they are available.  The other problem with BKK is the travel time for many boys to where most of farangs stay.  It can easily be an hour so even if a boy is not looking for money he may be looking for travel money especially if no Skytrain where he lives.

 

I have had a few freebies but honestly I am here short time and I am happy to pay these boys so the term money boy does definitely not have a bad note for me.

 

The other thing in BKK I find boys tend to be more available at night or weekends because they do go to school or have real jobs.

 

In Pattaya it is 24 hours a day and most are professional money boys which is also fine with me.

on another well-known Thai gay forum- the one recently changed hands again-has now a subforum re GR-boys- uncensored of course by those boys or Gr itself. It would be handy if they would put the general area/town in the headings. i think firecat sums it all up pretty nicely and to the spot. i also suspect that many do not handle those accounts themselves-but by some middelman-an age-old think in Thailand.

I have posted twice in that particular forum recently and will continue to look at it on future trips.  You do farangs a great service by posting GR experiences good or bad.

 

The 2 I posted recently or as good as it get if you like BF experience and boys who love to get pounded. I also stayed away from one boy I might have hired because of a particularly bad review.

Agree with fire cat about farang reviews being helpful. I find GR an excellent

resource and a way of maintaining contact with boys I have known for years as well

as meeting boys I recognize from bars that I have admired but never got around to.

The newer mobile sites like jackd seem to be getting more popular in Pattaya.

Many of the boys in the beer bars who are playing on their smart phones are

on line with jackd and a few other sites.

GR more geared to older unattractive farangs .

This is the first I have heard about jackd. I will give it a try. How is this to compared to Grindr in Thailand?

 

I find that Grindr is great for me in LOS but in America I can't get a date on it to save my life. However, in LOS, it is easy to log in and get a date fast.

I spend a lot of time on gayromeo, you can find some gems.

 

A clear facepic is important for me, better several. If their profile pic does not show their face or their body, I don't even click on the profile.

 

I look for weight and height (this information seems to be accurate for most), but other specs are filled in arbitrarily by the boys (just have a look how many write they are Caucasian).

 

In Bkk, there are many boys who are not moneyboys, when I write (English or Thai, depending on the language they use in their profile) to them, I often do not get a reply or after a short exchange they stop replying. Next time I will try to hint that I can help them with money for taxi.

 

I had two instant hook-ups (i.e. about 1-2 hours after exchanging the first message at gayromeo, I was at their place and we had good sex), I had one boy come to my place without sex (I gave him money for taxi, he was not so much my type), went to one boy (no sex, not so much my type), have several boys on my watchlist (i.e. I will meet them some time). Of course there are many conversations on gayromeo that do not lead to meeting (too far away, no time, if I am not sure from the pictures if he is my type I rather do not meet).

Perhaps I don't attract really BAD boys, but I don't do very well at picking the good ones on Gay Romeo either.   What is the secret?

 

In the UK I've been chatting to people supposedly living 20 miles down the road, then after a while their location suddenly changes to Asia, which is where they were all along.  I should spot what time of day they log on.

 

In Thailand I've had people who turn out to be significantly different to their picture.

 

Also some others who clearly want to be elsewhere, so I decide they can do just that within minutes of meeting.

I don't spend much time on it when in BKK. But I agree with Christian that there are quite a number of gems there. As others have said, many of those in the BKK section have full-time jobs and so are only available at certain times. These are generally not money boys, although something for travel costs is often appreciated since many have to come quite far for a meeting.

 

I think it's also important to remember that many of the guys in BKK gayromeo do not have much experience with farang; nor do they have good English. So, unlike with money boys, a meeting will take time to set up. I have lost count of the number of guys who say how nice it is to chat to someone who does not mention sex, size of dick etc. in the first five minutes! That is clearly a real turn off for many - even though sex ultimately is what it may come down to. I will sometimes chat over several days with someone before a meeting is arranged, and then it is usually for a coffee or a drink first.

 

Most of the guys I have met really do seem to want to get to know something about the guy they will spend time with before it comes down to sex. For tourists, that in itself will be a turn-off because they probably want company a day or two at most after starting to chat. For those living here with more time, gayromeo can be a very good resource.

I also look to see if there is a date stamp on any of their photos. I have encountered photos that date back to 2008! My last trip to Pattaya I offed one boy from Krazy Dragon and the rest were from GR without spending all my time on the computer. Maybe I was fortunate, but all my encounters turned out well with GR guys.

Undoubtedly GR, jackd and less so maybe gaydar are the ways to go ( anywhere) but especially in Thailand, I can't imagine travelling somewhere now and NOT having my phone set to that location.

 

On my last 7 week trio to Bkk and Pattaya I think I was in a go go twice and off'd a boy only once and even that was only as it was for a 3 some and the guy I was with wanted to pick who he was getting - and he'd great taste as unbeknown to him ( until later) he picked one of the boys out of the big cock show lol ( I "may" have guided his choice subliminally perhaps :-)

 

But my point is that even a year or two ago it would have been unthinkable to go to Thailand and NOT off a few boys from go go bars but as online "dating" is now so prevalent it's almost getting to the stage you just don't need to go to go go bars any longer apart from wanting to yourself to experience the fun element of that ( if you still find it fun that is)
