Guest fountainhall Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Went out again last night after another excellent dinner at the lovely Ruen Urai restaurant, part of – but separate from – the Rose Hotel.X-BoysStarted at X-Boys just before 10:00 pm. Only 4 or 5 others in the bar. Drinks Bt. 280. Nice variety of go-go boys, but before we had a chance to really look them over, the early show started. This was basically a mix of numbers danced by 7 coyote boys, an S&M number and 10 guys participating in a big cock show. With lengthy waits between each item and a level of music that was bordering on the painful, we gave up after 30 minutes and moved across the soi to Hotmale.HotmaleI have not been to Hotmale for about a year or so when they had some very cute, young coyote dancers at each corner of the room. These have sadly disappeared. We arrived as a show was ending, but just in time to see a couple of guys revealing all – one a youngish guy with the longest cock I believe I have ever seen. I wonder if that was the reason for quite a number of women in the audience which itself was mostly Asian. A big cock show followed, but nothing to match what we had just witnessed! Then one of the funniest fuck numbers I have ever seen. The younger bottom guy was quite hilarious and treated the whole exhibition as though he was taking part in some old-style music hall act. And it really was fun. This was followed by the usual parade round the audience for a few tips. Music level OK throughout. Once the lights came up, the go-go dancers were a pretty boring bunch. So we paid our bill – drinks Bt. 300 – and returned for another look at Classic Boys.Classic BoysQuite a few customers but not as many as last week. Similarly, not as many dancers. Perhaps some had been taken off. One gorgeous new slim guy with a killer smile was soon beckoned over by a trio of a man and two ladies, none in the full flush of youth (!), who I assume were Thai as the conversation was funny and animated and the drinks flowed. As another poster has remarked, the waiters here are also fun and not pushy. Like X-Boys, drinks were Bt. 280.Telephone BarLeaving Classic we had a chat with the boys at Happy Bar (this is apparently the name of the bar I mentioned last week when I wrongly called it Scorpion – although nowhere does there seem to be a sign ‘Happy Bar’)! No customers, just the mamasan and 3 guys (including their cute young Lao boy) hoping some might appear. We decided to end the evening over at Telephone Bar in Silom Soi 4. At the entrance to the soi, a tramp-like tout tried to persuade us to go to see his new go-go bar “just round the corner” – the corner meaning Patpong Soi 2. I knew of no new gay go-go bar "only one minute away" in that area and tried to get him to be more specific. He wouldn’t give us a name, and so I assumed it was probably the now re-opened Screw Boys which I vowed last week I’d never return to. If anyone happens to have heard of a “real” new bar in that area, let me know and I’ll check it out.By now it was 12:30 and Telephone was about half full, as were most of the bars on that soi. It remains a nice place to have a drink and chat, and I noticed one or two youngish Thais drinking on their own, presumably still hoping for companionship for the night. It was also nice to have a whisky nam with a decent slug of whisky in it!As I left my friends, I was sorely tempted to walk back to Classic to find out what had happened with that foursome as I could not imagine the trio had planned to off that gorgeous young guy who I assumed would be a little too fem for their desires. But then it takes all sorts, and I decided to leave what happened to my imagination. Perhaps I’ll return tonight and ask him! Quote
a447a Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 one a youngish guy with the longest cock I believe I have ever seen. I wonder if that's the same guy I reported on back in January. When I got a look at it back in the room, it was nowhere near as long as it appeared on stage. That was when I started wondering - are some of those "big cocks" fake?? If not, where the fuck did the other 6 inches go?? It was nothing special at all. I now look at them with a fair amount of skepticism. Having said that, there was a HOT HOT coyote dancer who also appeared in the big cock show. He came around amongst the audience showing it to all and sundry. It was definitely real, from what I could feel! Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I had not seen this guy before. He only appeared on stage - did not make the rounds, except later in briefs when he came to sit with a customer. Size is not a major turn on for me, but one of our number is much more of a connoisseur. He believes this was all real - nothing fake about it. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 What kind of drink did you have in X-Boys and Classic? I am pretty sure the drinks were 300 when I was there not long ago. I had orange juice, as far as I remember. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I had a whisky nam in X-Boys and my friends had beers. The waiter showed us a drinks list and prices before we ordered. I got the impression that drinks prices probably change according to the day of the week. In Classic we all had soft drinks. Quote
fedssocr Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Nice to hear Classic has turned over a new leaf. The mamasan that used to be there was such an objectionable person that I swore the place off a couple of years ago. Quote

In fact, he is still there but, amazingly, seems to have had a personality transplant since the new owner took over just over a year ago. Since then he hasn't once asked me for a drink for himself or tried to push me to take any boys. Of course, maybe he has realised that there is no future in wasting his time with me but it never stopped him over the years when he had his previous personality. For me, there is nothing to dislike and a lot to like about the (newish) Classic except one slightly ting tong boy and the f****ng show amongst the audience. Even the one drag performer is fun, not taking herself seriously and puts on a good show (only one or two songs per show). The 'aquarium' show usually lasts for 2 songs--- the first being in swimwear and the second starkers. Smoking is permitted amongst cutomers (but not staff) but the air conditioning is such that I (a non smoker) have never been aware of smoke. Quote
Guest Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 The previous mamasan annoyed me when he phoned up & asked his boy to go back to the bar less than 1 hour after I had paid the off fee. I've never seen the swim show, as I depart long before it starts. If this includes nude swimming, next time I shall wait for it. Thanks for the heads up on that. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 If this includes nude swimming, next time I shall wait for it I's suggest you don't waste your time. As Promsak mentions, it's just one guy nude for one song. Some years ago, they used to have at least 2 or more. Now it's merely a boring gimmick. But then the bar does have other attractions. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 The previous mamasan annoyed me when he phoned up & asked his boy to go back to the bar less than 1 hour after I had paid the off fee. I had this in another bar. But now that you mention it, there was a mamasan in Classic who asked me how much I would tip the boy. I couldn't think of a polite way to say "Fuck you, that's not your business", so I said "1500 Baht" instead. But I have to look for a reply should this happen again. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 If I knew the Thai words, I'd be tempted to say: "I'll tip what i think he's worth!" Quote

I witnessed him totally bilk another customer who was Asian and didn't seem to have the ability to say "no" out of a lot of money for drinks. After the guy left the mamasan "high-fived" one of the boys which seemed very poor form to me. I offed a very cute boy (who had moved on to Boys Bangkok last time I saw him) with whom I should have negotiated in advance on his short time rate. We had a 500 baht difference of opinion over the going rate. Ultimately I just paid him to avoid a scene. I would have happily offed him again until that unpleasantness. But I think he wasn't hurting for offs since he seemed to be one of the stars there at the time so maybe repeat business wasn't a concern to him. But I may well give Classic another look next time I am in town. Things could change again between now and then though as well. :-) Quote
ChristianPFC Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 We had a 500 baht difference of opinion over the going rate. Can you give us some numbers, please? As far as I know, 1500 is the expected short time tip. Quote
vinapu Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Since mamasans have visible problem in adding numbers and are averse to using calculator I always pay for drinks as they are coming. Otherwise chances are that 250 plus 250 will come to 600 or so. I make sure always have a small bills coins so tip can be given directly to cute waiter. Whatever you place in the wallet goes to commons to be distributed among all and I'm not sure it works as intended Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 In fairness to the bars, I cannot recall having been given the wrong change. On the other hand, what now seems to happen with some regularity is that some of your change is given in Bt. 10 coins. The wallets often have a flap at the bottom and several coins are conveniently tightly tucked in there in the hope, I presume, that you will not notice. So the unsuspecting leave Bt. 20 or Bt. 40 in notes, not realising they are also inadvertently leaving over double that! Check your change carefully! Quote
