The story is principally told through two of the children over a period of 3 years. The highs and lows are captured from the children’s perspective and shows their doubts and uncertainties as well as moments of joy and happiness. They are given a sense of purpose when American composer Bruce Gaston starts teaching music to a group of the children. Although they are more used to karaoke sessions with Thai pop bands, Gaston is committed to helping them develop and begins writing an opera for the children to perform. The film is much more than a story about how music can benefit people's lives. It is about issues which are important to everyone; identity family and belonging. The underlying message also highlights the problems that HIV sufferers around the world have to deal with, and how society continues to shun those who are infected due to a lack of understanding.Essentially, this is a film about acceptance and how children that had been given up on deserve to be treated like anyone else. The Prince of Songkla University is situated at Phuket Campus 80 Moo 1 Vichit Songkram Rd., Amphur Kathu, Phuket 8312 and a map on how to find it can be found on our web site: www.phuket-pride.orgParking is available and the cinema will be well sign posted, on entering both entrances. This event will be organised by the students of Prince of Songkla University in support of the andAlthough you are welcome to just turn up to watch the film, if you would like to pre book your seat (free) which will aslo help the organisors plane the event, please email: colingallagher2010@gmail.com or phone 087 4713 542Aquarius Foam Party 6pm to 9pm A first for Phuket Pride, Aquarius Guest House and Sauna are holding a fun packed foam party! They will be constructing a special foam dance arena just outside of their building (to keep the foam away from their swimming pool) which will be filled with foam and balloons and will have great dance music playing for you from one of the International DJ’s here with us for Pride Week to have a wild time.Shower facilities will be provided outside by the Foam arena. The Aquarius Bar will be open throughout this party, with tables and chairs all around the arena for when you need a rest, a drink or just to watch and enjoy. The ticket price for this event has not yet been confirmed but will include access to the foam arena and a 150 Baht donation to / charities.Changing facilities will be provided and safe storage of your clothes and belongings. khaolakguy Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Devin, thanks for this information. It sounds like quite an occasion, and I think that it can be read into the programme that all the clubs are collaborating again. There was a period when dominant Gay Paradise personalities were at such loggerheads that the event barely took place at all! Quote
