Guest fountainhall Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I always wondered why it is that paintings of St. Sebastian seem to have him almost smiling at his gruesome death. And why is it that he has become the gay saint? Is it that 'affected' look, the way the arms are shaped, an almost 'fuck you' attitude? Or more that many of the artists were in fact gay? Quote

Reminds me of the "Must be Won Tonight" motorbike competition which ran a few years ago in a BT showbar - it had to be definitely won "tonight" for the entire duration of my holiday and (according to some of the boys) it had been running for about 2 months!! No wonder people become cynical. Quote

I suspected that the response to this competition was likely to be high as the prize was valuable and did not publish a closing date in the magazine so that, as was the case, as many people possible had the chance to enter.
