NIrishGuy Posted March 7, 2013 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Before we all start boycotting Apple products ( or not ) have we actually established that Apples avoidance / dislike of allowing porn etc IS in fact based on a religious view and is not just perhaps them holding more of a typical Apple view of them not liking any type of risky / open source software etc, being as that's where many of the nets virus and programme code issue problems can arise from ( they even barred Flash and that wasnt a porn thing but they just thought it was crap programming that would slow down their new products down ? ) As my understanding was that Steve Jobs wasnt particularly well known for holding any overtly religious views and anyone who got on the wrong side of him got a mouthful that would have made a priest blush ( well perhaps a very old priest as now days it seems that the average priest could out do us all in that and many other regards these days ! ) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't think that's what's bothering Z. But I've already said my peace, so I won't go all over that again. I get the feeling there is a score to settle and in the meantime, Apple's competitors are waiting in the bush, ready to pounce on the fat cat coming down from the hill. Steve Jobs did rescue Apple and I think his legacy deserves a little more respect than he's getting here. Damn him! He should have left Apple floundering! There is always a fall guy, someone to blame, a scapegoat. I really don't know why this issue has become so controversial. What will be, will be. It almost seems as if some are gloating about Apple's downfall before it even happens. How terribly disappointing it would be to show up at Mary Kay one day and see her using an iphone and iPad long after Apple has bit the dust. I don't spot any connection to security. This IS censorship. 2 It doesn't matter if that censorship is motivated by religion or puritanical values. The principle is the same. Apple think they have the right to censor what we see. That alone is unacceptable. If Microsoft & Google did the same, that would be the end of free speech on the internet.
