TotallyOz Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Day 8 The cost for my camera to be repaired is 450 USD. It is not worth that so I declined. It is just not something I am willing to pay for. I had lunch at the mall and met my "date" from last night for lunch. It was enjoyable to see him but he spent over an hour talking to me and as he was working does that mean that Brazilians get more than 1 hour for lunch? I don't know and I didn't ask, I just hope he didn't get in trouble for this. I went back to Lagoa tonight and had a blast. When I walked in, I had about 6 young twinks come over to me and tell them they wanted to do a 3 way. I guess word got out that I liked 3 ways with the 2 boys from the last 2 nights and that I tipped them really well. I found the entire scene tonight comical as no one seemed interested in having sex with me but with me and another boy. LOL That would never happen in Thailand as the boys there are not great with 3 ways. But, the Brazilians lads are fantastic with them. I picked one guy I saw a few nights back and he and I chatted and he told me he was versatile and I was happy with that. He then called his friend over (without me asking him to) and said they would be "muito bon". I laughed and as I found them both adorable, I said OK. We got Room 24 again. I like it as the shower is a bit larger than the other rooms and the bedroom his a bit more comfortable and the TV is very nice. We went in and they turned porn on the TV but as they were both gay boys, they turned the channel to the gay porn instead of the straight stuff a lot of the boys pick. Again, the sex was fantastic. I loved it and they were both fabulous. They are 2 of the best kissers I have had here and they were also good at everything else. Both also came and both were really fun to be with. As I know many of you are more visual, I did take a photo with my shitty Sony that doesn't work properly. I can't do video or change any settings as the back screen needs to be replaced. But, even worst, I had my finger in the photo. But, hope you enjoy anyway! KhorTose 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Sao Paulo Summary I had a great time in Sao Paulo. The reports of Lagoa being dead was just not my experience but it can really depend on what you want and what you like. But, every night (but Monday) that I went, they had a plethora of everything including big muscle guys, twinks, skate boarder types, blacks, whites and others. There was never any problem with me finding what I wanted. Fragta is still very fun for me and I prefer it to Lagoa but I didn't find the usual number of twinks at Fragata as I did at Lagoa on this trip and as that is what I prefer many times, I tended to take more guys from Lagoa. Both places desperately need a makeover. Both need a bit of TLC. I see the massive amounts of customer and boys each night and I know these places have to be money cows. It seems to me that they would put a bit back into their place to keep them updated and fresh. But, they don't. The Mercado Municipal is now one of my favorite places in Sao Paulo. I love the food and the atmosphere. I went there several times. The Holiday Inn Express was a perfect choice. It was not a "high end" as the hotels I normally stay at but it was clean and the staff really was helpful and professional. I had a few issues with rooms and they changed me after my first night. As an apology, they gave me 20k bonus points. I was shocked. After the 3rd night, they changed me again and they gave me the entire stay for free. But, if you add the 20k bonus points, I came out ahead. I have to tell you, I was shocked that this happened but I was very happy to get 8 nights in Sao Paulo free. I think because I am a Royal Ambassador to their priority club they wanted to try to be top notch for me and when a few issues arose they went above board to make me happy. It worked. I have never been so happy in my life with a hotel. As always my friend Danilo is great to hang out with and to see. If you ever need a great tour guide/interpreter, he is the guy for you. Most of my meals I ate for around 15R or 7.50USD. Some were more and some were less but that is about the average I paid for any meal. The Holiday Inn Express had free breakfast so that was one expense I didn't incur. Transportation is easy in Sao Paulo. There are busses and subways everywhere and once you understand the system, it will make it very easy for you to do what you want to do and get where you want to go. Of course, taxis are also everywhere and I never had a problem finding one. If I lived here, I'd have to use the public transportation as I spent way too much on taxi rides that cost between 20R and 50R depending on where I wanted to go. Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Fortaleza Day 1 I left Sao Paulo today for Fortaleza. I left from the main airport. I was a bit surprised to be told I could not carry 2 carry ons onboard the plane as I had not "booked" this in advance. I used GOL airline as I get my Delta points. They didn't charge anything for the extra baggage and I had about 150 pounds total. The ticket was more expensive than the other airlines but I wanted my points. You can easily travel to most places in Brazil for around 100 - 150 USD. I just had ever heard about an "booking" for on board. I could not talk my way out of this. So, I let one carry on be placed underneath the plane. Not something I wanted to happen as I had valuable things inside but I don't think anything is missing and I'll be more careful in my packing on my next leg. Luckily, I pay close attention to the monitors and the announcements as my plane changed gates 5 times in less than 1 hour before we left. Nothing is in English so you need to pay close attention. The flight was 3.5 hours and the food on board was pay as you eat and they ran out of everything about half way down the plane. In other words, if you want food on board, take it with you as it was very disorganized. Fortaleza airport was much nicer than Sao Paulo or Rio. The taxi far was 36R from airport to hotel. I am staying at the Holiday Inn. It is a decent hotel on the beach and a nice view. But, it is again very basic room. I went to Dragon sauna tonight as all the boys I met in Sao Paulo from here told me it was the best. Let me tell you, this is the best designed sauna in all of Brazil. It is beautiful to look at and it is decorated to die for. It is scrumptiously clean. When you walk in, the place looks very bland and if you didn't know you are at the right address, you would not know you had found your destination. Once you are buzzed in, the front desk gives you a key and asks for your finger print. This finger print is the way you purchase all drinks, etc. The entire staff is color coordinated with matching shirt sand outfits. The locker room looks more like that of a NYSC than a sauna. There are 3 floors to Dragon and each floor is filled with enjoyable things. They have an open air solarium and swimming pool area. They have a beautiful cinema and dark rooms. They have professional massage room and a place for hair cuts, etc. They also have a small gift shop for clothes. Ordering drinks was easy and only required your finger to order. Drinks were 3.50 R. This sauna is so fucking gorgeous that you may want to just live here. The owner did a fantastic job on the place and I was very very impressed. As for the boys, there were few twinks here but there were about 30 plus guys and all were handsome and well defined. I would call them the Chelsea Boys look. They were not overly large but all were worked out chiseled bodies. I would say most were 20somthing. I found one guy that was half Japanese and half Brazilian and about 6 feet tall. He was adorable and we got a room. He was a lot of fun and delivered on all things he promised. The cost for the sauna was 35R. The room was about 40R as my total bill was 97R. The guy asked me for 50R and I said OK. Overall, the experience was great and I look forward to seeing what the other sauna is like tomorrow. I'll also try to get a few photos of the area in the next day or two. I am only here for the weekend so I'll try my best. http://www.dragonclubfortaleza.com.br/ Quote

TotallyOz Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 I woke up early today and had a bit of a chill. I thought it was the air conditioner and after breakfast, I walked up and down the beach for a bit. I also went to the market and bought some water for the hotel as I hate paying hotel prices. In the afternoon, I was feeling even worse and I decided I needed to see a doctor. I didn't really want to go to the hospital so I ordered in so to speak. The hotel arranged for a doctor to come to my room and check me out. I was told the rate would be 330R. I was fine with that as I didn't want to leave the hotel. When he arrived, he spoke perfect English and he gave me a physical go over. He told me I have the flu. I did not know it was that bad but on top of that, he looked at my left ear and asked if I had any issues. I told him yes, that when I was in the plane yesterday I couldn't swallow and the ear hurt really bad. He said there was a tear there and I was lucky I could even hear out of it. He also said that I could not fly for another 72 hours. My plane leaves on Monday and he said if I took the flight, there was a chance that I would have a busted ear drum. So, now I have to cancel the flights and hotels and try to rearrange my trip to stay longer here. As everything is prepaid, I am not sure how I'll do it, but he did give me a medical certificate that says I am not allowed to fly. He also gave me a shot in the ass to help the swelling go down and to release the tightness in my head. A nurse had to bring this over to the hotel while he was here. The total cost of the doctor, the nurse and the shot was 500R. He gave me pharmacy for to help as well and the cost of that was 90R. I am glad I called and had a consult as he said there was an 80 percent chance of hearing loss in the left ear had I flown on Monday. So, I am bedridden today and not going out. Quote

Guest fountainhall Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 If there's one thing worse than being sick, it's being sick when on vacation. Rearranging a long pre-paid trip can be a nightmare, especially if it involves mileage flights. Hope you are better soon - and that the insurance company coughs up. Quote
Bob Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Look at it this way, Michael. God's just allowing the male Brazilian population to take a siesta for a day or two before MM (Marauding Michael) is back in form. Recover soon and go for it. TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am feeling better today and went out tonight in front of my hotel to people watch as I had to get out of my hotel room. In front of the hotel is a large beach that everyone plays volleyball and soccer. There is an area for skateboarders and roller bladders. I always enjoy just sitting and watching everyone. a447a Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Michael, this has to be one of the best trip reports I've ever seen on the net - it is just awesome and a mine of info. Now you've got me planning a trip to Brazil next year! It appears that rent boys are available all over the place. Are the saunas the best places to grab a guy? I'd be a bit wary about cruising in the dark. And when you take the guy(s) back to the hotel, does the receptionist ask for the boy's ID? TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Michael, this has to be one of the best trip reports I've ever seen on the net - it is just awesome and a mine of info. Prostitution is legal is Brazil. Pimps are not legal. So, anyone can offer themselves up but there are no pimps that I have seen. The saunas are the best place to do this. Not every sauna is a "money boy" sauna. Some are just regular saunas for hook ups and I have been to those and also had good times. One in Ipanema in Rio is especially good but hit or miss if you get a date. However, for the money boy saunas, all are always a bullseye hit. They are in every city with varying degrees. Rio and Sao Paulo have the most boys but Porto Alegre has the best twinks and most a very white mix. I'll be there later in the week. Rio is known for so many places but I'll get the addresses down as I get there next week. You can take guys to your hotel but NEVER without and ID check. All hotels have security and some may require a "fee." Most just see the boys in the saunas. But, I have always had guys in my hotel but the hotels know me and know I have guys I know. When I stayed in Rio for 2 months a few years back, I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel (now not an Intercon) but I always had boys stay over and stay in my room. The deal was I would take them to the front, check them into the room as staying with me and then when they left, I would go and tell them to remove the boy from my room. As I booked for 2 people, there was nothing they could do. However, next week I'll be at JW Marriott and I have not stayed there in 8 years so I don't know what they are going to do with guests. I'll let you know when I am there. Rio is more strict than other cities from what I have seen. If you like night parks and cruising, I suggest you hire a guide for about 100USD per day. They will stay with you day and night and take care of you and take you to the good places. I have used Danilo in Sao Paulo before but his rates are higher now as he is doing more group stuff and I have used Eduardo in Rio and he is great. I'll try to get numbers for you if you ever decide to make the trip. I love Brazil as much as I do Thailand. The main difference is the boys. Thai boys are shy and sweet. Brazilian guys and very passionate and aggressive. I like both types of guys but I esp enjoy someone who is very aggressive in bed from time to time. On this trip, that has been the case for each guy I have been with. The saunas are also very regulated. You will never find anyone under 18 there. The business would be closed if that happened and they vett the guys very closely before they get in. I remember one guy I met there named Jefferson that waited until his 18th Birthday to go work. He knew it was his way out of poverty. He was right. He now speaks 5 languages and lives in Switzerland. He is only 26 or so and has had a great life and bought his family a home and he bought himself a condo in Rio. This business helps them move their life forward if they are that amazing guy. I hope I did not babble on too much. Check out this forum as it has a lot of great stories from Brazil in this subforum: http://www.boytoy.com/forums/index.php?/forum/122-latin-america-men-and-destinations/ Esp. check out the first 3 pinned threads on how to do things right in Brazil and some safety tips and sauna tips. Beyond, that ask me any questions you may have. I don't have all the answers but I have been here 30 or so times over the years. Glad you are enjoying the report and I hope you visit one day! Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 PS all my friend stay in apartments there and take boys with them freely. I am going for a week with 2 guys from another site and they always get apartments as they are much cheaper and they can do anything they want with no security hassles. They use VBRO.com I think. But, there are many apartment rental places in Rio. Quote

TotallyOz Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Great reply. Thanks, Micharl. Brazil is looking more and more attractive. If only is wasnt so far away! But I think I'll start planning soon. Where do you live? If in Thailand, you are right, it is a good ways away. The best way I have seen to do it is to either travel to South Africa on Thai Airways and then pick up one to Brazil or you can always go through Europe. There are a great number of Americans that visit here as it is closer than Thailand and other places they like to travel. From Atlanta, it was 9 hours. From NYC about the same. Since I am still down and out with the flu, I thought you might like to see some photos from my Facebook page from one of the saunas in Fortaleza, California Thermas. Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 I enjoyed Fortaleza but I didn't want to mess up the plans for the rest of my trip so I took to the air. It cost me 267 USD to change the ticket to Salvador. But, the bad news was the hotel would not let me change the date of check in and told me that I lost my prepaid money. I wrote a few emails to them and the hotel in Fortaleza called them to tell them of the issues with the doctor but they still refused to let me check in late and told me I would have to pay again. I was livid and blasted off a very pointed email explaining to them how I was going to systematically destroy their online SEO results. They wrote back and told me it was OK to check in one day late. The flight was miserable and it was obvious on take off I should not be in the air. My ear and head hurt the entire flight. When I landed, I could not even hear. I got to my hotel, the Mecure, and checked in. I knew I was not doing well and asked them to send a doctor over but he never answered the call. They did book an appointment for me for an ear/nose and throat doctor for the next day and I am glad they did. She was trained in NYC and spoke perfect English. She said the last doctor I saw was foolish for letting me back on a plane and it did more damage to my eardrum. She said I should not fly for at least 5 days but will see me again on Saturday to check things out and see how things are going. She gave me several medications and I hope that they take to me fast. I had to cancel my reservations for Porto Alegre and I have a flight that will be wasted as well. All in all, it was not smart for me on this trip to take out prepaid hotels and airfare. I have lost at least 1k USD worth of tickets. I did get travelers insurance but not sure how much it will pay if anything. The airport in Salvador was nice and the taxi cost 97R to the hotel. I think this is pretty high as it was about the same amount of time as it was in Fortaleza for 1/3 the price. So far, I have not seen much of Salvador but I'll be here for at least 5 days and I'll get out a bit after I get back on my feet. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Like you, I often prepay hotels and air tickets in order to get substantial reductions. And like you, for different reasons I have occasionally had to cancel and lose the pre-payments. I tend to look at it this way. If my travel insurance does not cover the losses and/or I cannot get anything from the hotel/airline, I know that on balance over the course of a year I save more than I lose. As we've discussed, being sick overseas is a real pain. It's worse when you're on a series of short hops and don't have time to fully recover before you move to the next destination. But with ears, the risk is just not worth taking. Please make sure you get your doctor's OK before flying again. Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 I met this young man named Jacques (sounded like Jackson) at a local venue and he spoke decent English and we chatted for a long time and I asked him for lunch. He agreed and we spent an hour just chatting about New York, Salvador and travel. We ate at a local por kilo place he wanted to eat at that has all organic produce and nothing is cooked that is not from their farm. It was nice and tasty food and the bill was about 65R for both of us. A very nice young man. More on my day a bit later but thought I'd share a quick photo. Quote
