Guest scottishguy Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Can I mischievously point out that when I joined this forum I was almost immediately advised that the gentle readers here did not like threads going off-topic Quote
NIrishGuy Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Just to say I always really enjoy reading blogs / posts about other places, whilst this is a Thailand board we all do live in the world in general and I always tend to think of coming to the board like going to the pub to chat with friends and you wouldn't go to the pub after returning from a great holiday and NOT tell your friends about it and if they were any sort of friends anyway they would surely ask ! Plus as gay guys there's a fair chance a lot of us do go to the same countries, places, bars etc etc so that so our info can be both interesting and invaluable when planning or even just thinking of going somewhere new and that doesn't lessen our interest in Thailand in anyway, it just makes the overall conversation / board more rounded and interesting as opposed to just comparing off fee's and bar openings and closures every other week ( not that THIS board does that so much thankfully :-) Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Yes, I agree with you 100%. As I say, I was being tongue-in-cheek. Quote
williewillie Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 FH, I am sure you know the adage about learning history. If we ignore or don't pay attention to history, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes and errors of the past (a loose restatement of the adage). I admit that permitting heygay to run free on this forum got up my nose and irritated me. I blamed Michael for this and it is time to let it go and move on. I do like this forum and don't need to be told to ignore you or others. Like all poster here, I skim over what doesn't interest me. I hope christianPFC doesn't take offense that I used him as an example of "too much information" as I am sure some here enjoy all the details. I choose to skim over them as some others no doubt do as well. Strong members make good forums. The forum will be richer with our newest members. KhorTose 1 Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 A447 - give me 1500B and I'll tell you that not only do you have a strong member - but that it's huge, that you're very attractive, and I think I love you. No sex mind - but if you fall asleep drunk I'll tell you in the morning that you were wonderful in bed and my arse is sore from your frantic lovemaking which would put Casanova himself to shame. Guest fountainhall Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I admit that permitting heygay to run free on this forum got up my nose and irritated me. Let me tell you others felt precisely the same way quite recently - although I reckon "irritated" would be very mild compared to some posts here. The end result is that the poster concerned was banned. I believe I am right in saying only one other poster in recent years created such divisions and ill-feeling - some posters quit the Board simply because no action was being taken. The poster then breached the rules and was promptly banned. My own view is the Board is much better off without both of them. Quote

Guest scottishguy Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I've been here a couple of weeks now, but I still keep an eye on the goings-on over at "the other place" Can I just say how refreshing it is not to be subjected to an almost daily diet of regurgitated Pattaya Daily News/Pattaya One "scandal" stories - with posters falling over themselves to appear to be the most "outraged" Quote
Rogie Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 - with posters falling over themselves to appear to be the most "outraged" Many gay men reserve the right to be outrageous from time to time . . . Quote
NIrishGuy Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 ?? I thought it was being FABULOUS that we all reserved the right to being every now and then, I DO wish someone would stop changing the rules and that the gay union would at least up date their mailing list so we get copies of what we're expected to be to uphold the gay stereotype these days as it's SO exhausting trying to keep up ! lol Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm all for compromise - so, (as you can see by my new pic) I reserve the right to be fabulously outrageous! Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm all for compromise - so I reserve the right to be fabulously outrageous! Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I wouldn't be too fabulously outrageous at the French butcher shop! Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 . . . and definitely not at Indigo Restaurant. Wonder what would happen if we all booked half that place one night and then turned up in Ab Fab gear? Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 . . . what would happen if we all booked half that place one night and then turned up in Ab Fab gear? You're suggesting I dress down? Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Since the homophobic owner is apparently into stereotyping (he doesn't like "our sort") - my suggestion is we all go into his restaurant dressed as French onion-sellers, and talk loudly in Peter Sellers/Inspector Clouseau accents I tried it last night (no doubt you'll guess that the "off" on the right was from BoyzBoyzBoyz): Quote
NIrishGuy Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Looking at your new profile pic I'm surprised it wasn't more a case of arriving as the Fallen Madonna with the big bobbies !! :-) Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Your preference for bobbies over boobies has been and will continue to be your lifelong burden *Don't you dare edit it now!! LOL Quote
williewillie Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 so, the stories of the boys at Boyz, boyz, boyz being over the hill are true. Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I'm saying nothing, williewillie - but BBB customers (and like-minded others) will no doubt be glad to read this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21687897 Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I admit that permitting heygay to run free on this forum got up my nose and irritated me. I blamed Michael for this and it is time to let it go and move on. Yes, it is always good to let things go. History passes us by and we must all move on. I once had a good friend in Thailand that I adored and I spent many nights with him chatting and visiting bars and clubs. You could say he was my best friend for several years. Then, all of the sudden he changed and turned into a very nasty person. When this happened, I was saddened but I moved on. It was easy for me to move on as I knew it was the best thing for both of us. But, unfortunately, he did not move on and to this day still holds a grudge. It is sad when people can't move on. But, Willy I am sure you are nothing like my friend as you seem very level headed and you posses the ability to move on from this. I hope you do move on and not hold the past against me. We all make mistakes don't we? Isn't part of live being able to truly move on? I am so glad you have decided that you will move forward and not concentrate on history and old grudges or sadness. I think that is very wise of you and also a very healthy thing to do. baobao, NIrishGuy and williewillie 3 Quote
Guest scottishguy Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 And I would like to take this opportunity to say that I am drawing a firm, bold line under SGT and shall in future not be referring to SGT or anything to do with it. In fact I will resist even viewing it. I don't say that in any way as a "barb", merely a statement of intent. To anybody there whom I made laugh - good. To anybody there whom I annoyed or offended - my sincere apologies. To the owner (who I know I made laugh sometimes, but I also know I annoyed intensely by pushing the boundaries and being quick to sometimes get hold of the wrong end of the stick) - the same sincere and deepest apologies. I am done and finished with that - as Michael says "move on" and that's exactly what I'm doing. So, no responses which invite a reply please! Quote
