firecat69 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Who is in country and going out to the Bars. Some reports ???? Coming New Years.. Quote
Guest Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I was recently in Classic Boys (Bangkok). Quite a few customers. Had about 5 waiters, none of whom were pushy. Had a mixture of boys, cute, slim, slightly more portly etc. There were about 4 of the slim smooth type that I would have expected to see in this bar 5 years ago. Two of these were offed by the same guy shortly after I arrived (~9:30 pm). So if you want the pick of the boys, don't arrive too late. I hooked up with an adorable sweet slim guy from Bangkok and had a very good time. Next night,I visited the last bar on the right in the same soi. Is that X-boys? Met a lovely Vietnamese guy, but upon checking his passport, the details on it did not correspond with what he told me. So that was the end of that. A good reminder to always check ID cards -don't assume even the Soi Duangthawee bars do the job for you. Quote
TotallyOz Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I was in Krazy Dragon this week and there were about 5 gogo boys roaming around and 3-4 customers sitting. I was in Nice Boys in that area also and they had a great deal more boys but none I was interested in. Went over to Funny Boys and the place as always was packed with boys and customers. I took one boy from Funny Boys for the night and we went to ToyBoys and it was also full of boys but not too many customers. There was one guy that caught my eye there but will have to go back to see him another night. Z909, sorry to ask but was the Vietnamese boy underage? Quote
daddydawg Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Z909.......so even though he was underage, he had a work permit? Quote
Guest joseph44 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 AFAIK can recall.......Z909 didn't mention that the Vietnamese boy was underage; the boy's bio just didn't match with the ID/Passport. Do not jump into conclusions. Quote
Guest Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I really don't care if he has a work permit. I'm not employing him. l suspect none of the Laos, Vietnamese or Burmes bar workers have work permits. They tend to be quite discrete when showing you their passports. One guy I met didn't know his room mate was from Laos for over 2 weeks. Incidentally, I heard it costs about $220 to apply for a passport in Cambodia, hence not so many bar workers from there. Quote
fedssocr Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I posted my bar reports on other boards, but I can summarize them here... I just got home after spending about 2 weeks in Thailand. In Bangkok I only went in X Size and Fresh (Beach?) Boys. X Size was fairly pushy. Lots of boys (maybe 15-20) with a few customers. Several more would reach the top of the stairs and turn right back around. One of the people running the place was smoking which was not pleasant. I had one cute boy sit with me for a little while. First visit to Fresh Boys was fairly quiet. Only about 5 boys. A few other customers. Show was not great, I left during the second act. I allowed myself to be ushered in there for a second time the other night. Many more customers, it was basically packed at show time. A few more boys on stage. The show was OK but went on a bit long. When they allowed another customer to start smoking I left. In Chaing Mai I went to New My Way and Adam's Apple. I started a thread that got a lot of traffic on my experience elsewhere. Things in CM get started late. After 10 at the earliest. NMW was a bunch of boys staring at their phones. The show was nothing special with the usual lip syncing lady boys and a few not so attractive guys showing off a bit more. The regular boys would go on stage shirtless looking very uncomfortable from time to time. A few of those guys did a little "dance" in their underwear at one point. More like the shuffle you see in a gogo bar. Did not stay to the end of the show. A group of 4 women came in shortly after the show had started which perked up all of the boys a bit. Adam's Apple was a disaster. Constant strobe lights gave me a headache. Some cute boys though, more on the teens to early 20s side of things. Lots of customers though. In Pattaya I spent time in a few places. Really enjoyed X Boys Land. The boys have a good time. Show time was generally a good crowd for the early show. The one night I stayed for the late show there were only a couple of customers. That was my favorite bar on this trip. I spent a little time in Sunee as well. Magic Boys had about a dozen guys on stage. More on the girly side. Two or three other customers. Pushy mamasan. Didn't stay long. Mic My has a small collection of boys. Several very girly "gay" boys. Big crowd. First visit was not too pushy. Second visit the owner literally would not leave me alone. She plunked herself right down next to me and kept coming back even though I thought my body language and short answers to her questions made it obvious that I didn't care to have her sitting there. Probably would not go back here. Nice Boys had a big collection of guys on stage. Lots of customers. Not much interaction between the boys and the customers. There were several boys in jeans at the back of the stage were really dancing which I enjoyed. Something about the vibe there just seemed a bit off to me. Stopped in Krazy Dragon briefly. Only a few boys none of whom I found attractive. A couple of other customers. A couple of the boys tried hard to get me to agree to have them sit with me but I wasn't interested. I also went up the stairs to Jet Set Boys to take a look but turned right back around. About 5 or 6 guys on stage. None really attractive to me so there was no point in staying. The door guys were not happy at all that I left so quickly. TotallyOz 1 Quote
Nikom Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 In the Chiang Mai bars why do the boys sit BEHIND the customers? How are we to 'check them out'? Quote

Guest Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Mic My Boys ~ same as ever, this bar is not quite my thing. Some look too immature, some are scruffy and suffering tattoos. Nice Boys -Seems to have a mixture of guys. Mainly either guys in Jeans stood at the back, often disfigured by tattoos, or quite effeminate types. One very cute guy putting considerable effort into some dancing. He performed well outside the bar too. Funny Boys. I was there between 21:00 and 22:00 and counted about 18 boys, which is considerably fewer than previous years. They still have all the mature guys, but where they used to have about 6~10 really cute slim 19~23 year old guys, it's now down to about 2 who fitted that category. Not that many customers either. I hope this was just a one off quiet night, not evidence of decline in what has previously been my favourite bar by some margin. Thankfully the customer service their remains at the highest level. So far on this trip, Classic Boys in BKK has been the best gogo (probably improved since last year). Quote

Guest Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I wonder if the recent tragedy has anything to do with this. So was the owner actively involved in recruiting staff?I figure the owner must have been responsible for the superb standards set by this bar, but this would be a very swift deterioration. Of course, I'm still hoping it was just a quiet Wednesday & all will be well on the next visit. Quote
Guest Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 More gogo bars visited: Krazy Dragon. Remains one of my least favourite gogo bars & this was probably the first visit for about 3 years. In a normal gogo bar, you get to admire the staff in a relaxed atmosphere & then perhaps invite one of them to sit down. However, in KD, the dancers are hassling the customers, trying to invite themselves to sit with the customer. Fine if you like it. Looking for the positives, well they did supply a bowl of peanuts. New City Boys. About 8 dancers, 2 quite cute, the others not. One cute one got offed by another customer. The other one did some rather energetic dancing, which livened up the bar, so he got a tip. Should have offed him. Toy Boys. Has more boys than any other bar I've visited on this trip, maybe around 25 or more. Good bar, worth a visit, although the selection of really special looking boys is not as good as the very high standard set by (for example) Funny Boys one year earlier. Quote

Toy Boys has been amazing lately. Every time I have been in there, it is packed to the rafters with boys and many very cute ones as well. Funny Boys in that area also does not disappoint. I went to Eros last night and enjoyed it but many more fem boys that I would like but I still had a nice time. Also we went to Nice Boys and they had some cute guys on stage and a nice atmosphere. My last trip to Crazy Dragon was much like yours Z. It was pretty slow and not many guys. Quote
Guest Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Met a Gay Romeo guy @ 9:15. Sent him away with a small contribution to his taxi fare @ 9:25, as he just wasn't engaging. (He lives within 300m, so the term taxi fare is a euphemism in this case) Had one drink at Forest House, then moved onto Vasa bar. This bar had about 12 cute boys all wearing white towels & in some cases making frequent "adjustments" to their attire, which was pleasing to the eye . They were earning quite a few 20~40 baht tips for entertaining customers. A bar that manages to combine a little bit of smut with some style. Easily the most entertaining gogo bar I've been in on this trip. Met another very nice boy there too. The Mamasan had a printed card, showing the off fee was 400 and the long time tip was 1500. Quote
TotallyOz Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 The Mamasan had a printed card, showing the off fee was 400 and the long time tip was 1500. I have never seen this in Thailand but I do like the idea. Was it given to you or just shown to you? I love Hero Massage in Bangkok and it tells you right up front the minimum tip for the boys. I wish all places with "offing" did this as it makes sure the boys are taken care of. vinapu 1 Quote
Guest Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Was it given to you or just shown to you? This was just shown to me and he didn't present the figures as a minimum. Of course if they are dealing with customers who just wandered in and have no idea of the going rate, then the card is a good idea.Personally, I prefer no guidance, as if a guy makes a well below average effort, he deserves a below average tip. For me that would be the exception, certainly considerably less than 5% of them, but I like to have the flexibility. I've been tipping slightly over 1500, due to meeting some very sweet & attentive guys. Incidentally, the boy I tipped in New City Boys looks very much like the one in my avatar. I might have to go back to verify this.... Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Incidentally, the boy I tipped in New City Boys looks very much like the one in my avatar. I might have to go back to verify this.... Oh really? What number is he? Not that I'll need a number to recognize him (at least from the waist down), but I want to get there before you or anyone else does. Just in case the pie shop is closed. Quote
TotallyOz Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I just got back from Toy Boy and I have to say, without a doubt, the finest collection of boys gathered together in place that I have seen in Pattaya in 8 years. Pretty amazing and something for everyone! A stop in Boyztown and Toy Boy and Funny Boys will give you the best of the best. IMHO Quote
Guest Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 On Saturday, I visited EROS bar. The dreadful wrestlers outfits were in use on this evening, but happily one guy improved his appearance considerably by removing it. Maybe about 10~12 boys. I liked 2 of them, although one of those was with another customer. Had one cute one sit with me for a while. Things didn't progress any further, as he had facial hair and was very pushy, asking me to off him about 5 times in 10 minutes. Quote
Guest Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Not that I'll need a number to recognize him (at least from the waist down) You will recognise him...... Last night I spent about 2 seconds in Happy Place, just long enough to count 4 big guys on the stage & lots of tatoos. Not for me. They have turned the music down from last year, which is a step forward. Kawai Boys had a about 8 boys & the one I went to see was sat with a Farang, but eventually the Farang left. Due to some nonsense with room keys, he was only available short time, so I moved on to Funny Boys. Quite a few more boys than on the previous visit, including some rather nice ones. So Funny Boys moves to the top of my rankings, although it's not quite at the high standards set last year. A mixed group of Russian customers showed up, sat down, "procrastinated" over the drink choice for about 10 minutes and left without ordering anything. Some people need to learn how to behave. Quote

Met a lovely Vietnamese guy, There are (or were when I visited in November) two Vietnamese boys in Fresh Boys (others report 3 Vietnamese guys work there). I offed one of them, everything went alright, until he wanted 2000 Baht for short time. I negotiated down to 1600, but it wasn't pretty. I will give this bar a wide berth for a while. Quote

Consulting the map, it seems the bar I visited was Fresh Boys. I don't think the boy has the right to charge what he wants after the event. If either the boy or his client have financial expectations which deviate from the going rate, they should discuss this in advance, otherwise the default assumption should be the going rate. 2000 baht is above the going rate for short time, even in Bangkok. Of course, if they have a constant stream of new tourist visitors that tactic will work some of the time. Also, the Vietnamese are known for being a lot more assertive and pushy than people in other parts of SE Asia. Quote
TotallyOz Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I was in Nice Boys last night and there weren't that many boys early on but as the time came closer to 10, the place filled up. Also, it was 100 baht drink special. All drinks were 100 baht last night so they were packed with customers as well. Quote
