It occupies a vast space MetaCert, a web-blocking firm, has recently indexed 645 million pages on the internet. In the process, it discovered how many links to porn sites? a. 450 million b. 827 million c. 1.4 billion d. 2.3 billion e. 3.1 billion No need to wait till the end of the week for the answer. It’s e. And despite the domain .xxx having been created 2 years ago, the vast majority of the porn sites are still using .com. If you think that number is a bit staggering, how many porn site links do you reckon there are likely to be in total when you realise that there are something like 3 billion web pages? Well, if that sample 645 pages has 3.1 billion links, one assumption could be a total of around 14,400,000,000,000,000 links! (Can’t be bothered checking my math, but even if I have a 0 or two out, it is still up there in the stratosphere). Now, as one brain worked it out, if you started at the time Christ was born and counted 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. at the rate of one number per second, you would be less than one twentieth of 1% complete by now!! And porn sites turn out to be surprisingly interconnected: MetaCert, based in San Francisco, found that there are approximately 5,000 URLs per pornography website, and that on average each site links to another 10 sites. . . . The location of porn sites is also heavily focussed in the US, with 58.9% located in there. The Netherlands is the next largest, with 27%, followed by the UK (7.4%) and Germany (1.5%) I wonder where Japan comes on that list since the official porn industry accounts for around 1% of GDP – the same as the country’s defence budget! Add in a whole variety underground activities and some estimate it could be as high as 5% of GDP. But, the main reason I go is to listen to the speakers and the lectures. Porn guys and gals are the ones that keep up to date with SEO better than anyone. They know how to play the same and to get results and they work their ass off to get this. I will add another little statistic to your post. Did you know the the vast majority of porn companies are owned by women? Yes, even the gay ones. There are many major players in the gay porn world and often they have a figurehead guy as their CEO but the real money and the ownership and control is usually women! Did you know that already?
