Guest anonone Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I have been traveling quite a bit and relying on iPad for browsing, Lately the GT forums have not been displaying correctly for me. The "top" 5/6th of the screen is a static black, leaving only a tiny, scrollable bottom section used to show the content. Does not happen when viewing the forum topic page....only when I try to read each individual thread. I tried a different browser app and it displayed better, but took a LONG time to load each page. Anyone else having these types of issues when viewing with iPad? Quote
TotallyOz Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 There is an app on the Apple App Store called IPS Buddy. I use it to log into many sites online. I think it is free and I use the info for gaythailand.com/forums and log in and tested this. I also tested with Safari and it worked for me. Be sure you use the right URL for the forums and you log in from the main page and it should work. If you are accessing a different way, please let me know exactly what you are using to view the site and I'll try to help you figure this out. Quote
Guest anonone Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Hi Michael. Thanks for the offer of help. I was using Terra (browser) to access the site when I had the major problem....large black area. I switched to Safari and it seemed to be loading very slow, but after a bit was working much better and is usable. Not sure why the issue with Terra. I used to use Safari, but noticed incomplete loading of this site when using Safari. The top portion of the site would load, but you could not scroll down. I would sometimes take 2 or 3 refreshes to get the entire page to load. It was frustrating, so I switched to Terra, which seemed to work better...until recently. Quote
Guest Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Works Ok on Android. (Sell any Apple stock). Quote
Guest abang Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I switched from Apple to Android last Christmas and never look back.. My current fave is the Samsung Note 10.1 tablet. It does wonders ... I can insert a SIM card into it and use it as a phone. Of course it works well with 3G and Wifi.... I have been downloading music/videos/movies with ease. Ask me if you need for information on this product... Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I don't yet have a Pad and have been wondering which to get. I love the smaller Samsung 7.7 (I think). I don't want it to watch movies, take photos or have dozens of apps but do need to do emails, surf the web, download a few things like books, and store photos etc. I like the smaller model as it has a fantastic screen and it's lighter. How do you rate it? Quote
Guest abang Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 My preference is the 10.1 tablet as hmm.. I dont need to squint my eye.. Wearing reading glasses is quite an inconvenience at times.. Quote
Guest Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I just got a 7" Samsung tablet to save carrying several books on my holiday. For that purpose, 7" is perfect. It even fits in my pocket, much more compact than an old fashioned LP guide. Makes a very nice e reader. Typing posts like this is more tricky than with a proper ndtbook though (please excuse the typos). Ic it was just for use at home, I would get a bigger one. Needs a lroper keyboard, corrections are too risky. Quote
TMax Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Asus TF300 is a good buy, I have had mine now for a few months and am b=very happy with it. Quote
Guest anonone Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I have been happy with the iPad. About the right size screen...smaller would be hard to browse and type, I think. Battery life is really good. 10 hours? And really stable, apps launch quickly, email tools easy to use. I am a happy ca,per. Hard to imagine traveling without it now. Great to take to the beach since wifi now so prevalent. Keeps BF entertained...and me entertained with which YouTube videos he finds hilarious. Thai do seem to like slapstick.... I bet there are android devices that work just as we'll...or even better???...but I am not into the whole techy thing, iPad works well for what I need it for.... This site now working well with Safari. I have not had the incomplete loading of a page in quite awhile. Quote
