Guest fountainhall Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 As some readers will have noticed, Scooby has been making a lot of changes in the other parts of the Board. There are more photographs, the Profiles seem to be working (or is that just my imagination?), and a lot of the history sections have been updated. One section remains pretty much out of date, though – the Home page’s extensive Gay Business Listings. Bangkok lists only 7 bars (only 7???), including Solid which closed about half a year ago and “Sphinx Pub” which is generally known much more as a restaurant than a bar (although the karaoke upstairs is perhaps more bar material). Only 2 gogo bars appear on the list! Likewise, under Bangkok Restaurants, Oho is listed but it closed almost 2 years ago, and under Bangkok Sauna/Massage there is no mention even of most people’s favourite – Hero. I remember a recent post on this Board in which the editor of Out in Thailand explained how difficult it is to keep track of openings and closings when the establishments themselves don’t seem to care. However, these listings are clearly very important to a site like this. So, I’d like to suggest that when readers are next in Soi Twilight or Pattayaland or Sunee Plaza, or at a new massage parlour or one which is not listed on the home page, they make a note of changes, additions, deletions etc. and pass them on to Scooby or whoever is doing the updating. I think it's in all our interests to get and keep the site up to date. Quote
TotallyOz Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I agree that things are very outdated. It is one of the hardest things to keep up with on the site as you really need on the ground people in each major city to help and assist. I'd love to see this updated as well. I can help in Pattaya and will go through the listings there and see which ones are relevant now. Quote
Guest Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 On the positive side, this site now comes top on a google searchs for "gay thailand". That wasn't always the case. If this is due to anything done by Scooby, then well done. Quote
Guest Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 We have started to work on the Business Listings area. It is a long process but it is improving. Check the top link called City Guides. Quote
