Thanksgiving in Pattaya

Where are you headed for Thanksgiving this year? I always went to Amore in Boyztown but it is now long gone and I have to find another place to eat a bit of American style turkey and dressing. I know of Brunos and Le Cafe Royale. Any other suggestions?

Of course, non-yanks really don't give a rip about Thanksgiving but occasionally we rope one or two into celebrating with us. The absolute best Thanksgiving spread I've ever experienced here (Chiangmai) was at the Amari Hotel but, alas, that hotel remains closed for long-term renovations. This year a few of us are heading for Dukes which reputedly also has a pretty good Thanksgiving buffet. We shall see.....gobble, gobble.

Just a guess, but Rich Man-Poor Man is likely to do a traditional T-Day dinner.

GB says that the Barmey Army gang are doing Rich Man Poor Man this Thanksgiving...

which tells me it must be a good meal if they are going.

I asked the ninner question at GB's....got this reply:

Tequila Reef: http://www.tequilareefpattaya.com/thank ... -2012.htmland http://www.pattayapeople.com/default.as ... ticle=8239

Dicey Reilly's: http://www.inspire-emagazine.com/pattay ... ng-buffet/

The price is 599 baht for "early bird" booking. Booking after November 15, it's 799 baht.

Rich Man-Poor Man: Tel: 038 233 414

MJ Smokehouse: They're doing a full Thanksgiving buffet, but not until Saturday, the 24th. http://mjsmokehouse.com

I'm sure there are others, but these are the ones I know about. I haven't checked further because my group settled on Rich Man-Poor Man. Be advised, Rich Man-Poor Man does allow smoking inside the restaurant.

I have been also told Rich Man Poor Man will do "take out" for ThDinner...

I May do this if I am still in BPH...or at home on ThDay.

Hey Jim-- Mitt Romney's goose is cooked already. I wonder if now he'll be eating his own words instead. :p

In Bangkok, Bourbon St. Restaurant and Oyster Bar is a Cajun-style place that will be having a big buffet feast of traditional Thanksgiving foods. I went last year and it was excellent at 899 baht. They've moved since then and the new place is a bit smaller and now has multi-level dining rooms. Here is their website:

Tripadvisor reviews it well.
