Where to get a good massage and happy ending in Pattaya?

It's certainly a mistake to expect the entire world to adopt the US custom of arbitrarily defining services for which tips must be paid. In some parts of the world, offering a tip would be seen as an insult.

Yeah, but this thread is talking about Thailand and in particular massages in Thailand. I can assure you Z that NO ONE that you give a tip to in Thailand will be offended!

This is my first post but having read the comments on this subject, I don't get it. I have been living here for almost 11 years now and have some knowledge about massage parlors and boys working hotel or restraurant incomes and it's not much, they rely heavily on tips. I can't see why you guys are so kinnieow, I usualy tip 500-700 baht for a really good massage whether I have the extra treatment or not, they always get spent with me, so they leave when I do for the night.

But to say, 100-200 is a good tip, really, tips like that and they will find another profession, they don't service every night and 1 poster said only 2 guys available, I rest my case. You guys have money enough, pay for the service you get from the boy, they remember chaep guys, I hear it alot from my thai friends, they don't particularly like Russians but they tip well

BTW, the business does not give the boys anything from their fee, tips are their income. also in BKK, Bunny massage gives full body to body massage which is really kewl. I am from the US too and our exchange rate sucks but I still give them a good tip

I don't think you read the comments very well. I, like a few others, were talking about normal massage services, not the male massage joints (where I think everyone would agree that you tip much higher). But I don't go to a male massage place for a Thai massage and I can assure you that paying somebody at a normal Thai massage place (such as the Blind Institute or the Olde Thai Medicine Hospital here in Chiangmai) 100 to 200 baht tip is appropriate for a massage that costs 250-400 baht.

Why anybody would go to a male massage place for a good Thai massage is generally beyond me. I know that some actually give good massages (the manager of the now-defunct BBB massage place here in Chiangmai trained at Wat Po in Bangkok and then taught most of his staff to give good Thai massages) but I don't go to those places solely for a Thai massage. For one thing, why go pay 500-1,000 baht for a massage and then pay an equal amount in a tip when, for the amounts I mentioned above, you can go to a legitmate Thai massage place/school and typically always get a great Thai massage. Again, I'm talking about a normal Thai massage there and not referring to any sexual adventure, naked masseurs, or whatever.

What does kinnieow mean?

What does kinnieow mean?

Lol. Typically, it'd be written in English "kee-niaow" or some such thing. The "kee" part generally means "prone to be" and the "niaw" part means sticky. Thus, prone to be sticky....which means "stingy" in English.

I'm sure you heard of "kao niaow" (sticky rice).

As to the "kewl" part, yea, it's an American teenage way of saying or spelling "cool."

Well.....interesting thread detour into the Thai wage scale and the ever popular tipping discussion, but has anyone actually been to Magnolia lately and can provide an update?

I am trying to decide if it is worth a visit this trip or if I should save some baht and stick around TukCom...

Magnolia Men Spa: I have never been inclined to visit a spa more than I have after reading your glowing post.

Yes, I would like to visit, but live in Bangkok, so get to Pattaya once a month. Thank you for your sincere post. I wish there were more business owners with attitudes like yours. Thanks.

@thaiworthy, thank you, it is not always glowing, but we try and we listen, i was a nurse in USA and i am good dealing with people face to face. what matters is that we have returning customers and some more and customers like what we offer. our staff is great as well, and really without them and their hard work we would be just an empty fancy building.

when you come to pattaya stop by for a coffee and tea chit chat and massage if you like,

Ok. Magnolia, you got a deal. At least for a coffee, for sure . . . and then, who knows!

Good to see Magnolia becoming active on the forum. Welcome to you.

I never did make it out on my last visit. BF and I went out to Koh Samet for a couple of days and time just got away from me. I hope to be back for a short visit again around New Years and will make a more dedicated effort to head back over to Magnolia for a massage this time.....
