Guest fountainhall Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Launched with much ceremony a few years ago, Singapore Airlines is axing the world's longest commercial non-stop flight - the 18-hour 15,200 km all-business class Newark to Singapore route. Also falling by the wayside is the shorter (by 2,400 kms) but longer in flight time because of headwinds (18'30") LAX to Singapore route. The new records will be held by Qantas for with its Sydney/Dallas flight (longest route - 13,700 kms) and Delta Johannesburg/Atlanta (longest flight time 17 hours). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2222956/Worlds-longest-commercial-non-stop-flights--Singapore-U-S--cancelled.html Quote
fedssocr Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Apparently the flights will continue for a while. But will end by late next year when they have to turn the a/c back to Airbus. So there is still some time to take it. Quote
