firecat69 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 No I don't. I would have to know what facts he looked at that led him to his assumptions. I have looked at many deals where I had done my due diligence and was comfortable with my decision and yet it turned out I was wrong. In some cases I was just lucky I did not pull the trigger and in other cases I suffered the consequences. Luckily my homework of the facts led me to the right decision enough times to make up for the wrong decisions. But in all cases it was my homework that led to the decisions right or wrong. I never relied on someone else's homework. And if I had I would have no one to blame but myself. TotallyOz 1 Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 I would have to know what facts he looked at that led him to his assumptions. But he doesn't give you those facts. He is asking you to trust him. That is where caution needs to be applied. Quote
firecat69 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Exactly! Even if he gives them to you , they are still his facts. Should you rely on them Shame on You! TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 But he doesn't give you those facts. He is asking you to trust him. That is where caution needs to be applied. Of course caution needs to be applied. Who on earth is going to believe anyone from the Internet unless they have more information? OK, he is not FH. When FH posts, I tend to rely on him as more of a reporter of facts and not gossip. But, FH is not Joan Rivers. He is more along the lines of Anderson Cooper. Would you really watch those 2 on TV and expect the same level of information? It is easy to make a post but it is also easy to check up on a post someone has made. One can easily do a search on this board for heygay and see all his posts AND all the posts from others about him. If they wish to them make a judgement call as to his veracity, they can do that. But, he is no Walter Cronkite or Carl Bernstein. It is not rocket science he is talking about. It is his opinions he is discussing. Now, yes, I was one of the fools that ALMOST listened to him about Ocean 1. And, if I had relied on his voice only, I would be out a few million baht. But, he was not the only one that was talking about Ocean 1 and I had one other very well known realtor that was also singing its praises. However, before I made that kind of investment, I did some research and I also learned about the guys doing the project. I decided it was not a good investment for me. Thank goodness! I decided the same thing about the View Talay right on the beach. I regret not buying there one of the corner units but I was not sure with all the legal actions what the outcome would have been. I really just do not understand why others get so upset about his posts. I honestly do not. We have an ignore feature on this board and it would seem easy to just place him on ignore. People try so hard to prove him wrong on everything he says, they often get lost in the few things he posts of value. He is a smart man and a very kind man. I like him. I hate reading the grammar on his posts but I forgive it a bit more than others as I often find good content in it that is worth my annoyance. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 When FH posts, I tend to rely on him as more of a reporter of facts and not gossip. But, FH is not Joan Rivers. Oh? Have you seen him lately? The reason people get upset about HeyGay's (LMTU) posts is because they are outrageous. They are fantastic claims. I don't get too upset about it personally, but once in a while it can be annoying. He doesn't communicate well and does not play well with others. I have a hard time trying to understand what he is trying to say. So it's not just the grammar and spelling. It is attitude as well, like his opinion is the only one that matters. As a composite, I can understand how disconcerting it is when you are trying to follow a certain subject and you suddenly get this over-the-top post that goes on with the same speech you've heard before. It's like a broken record. Sometimes it's like walking down a street and then stepping in dog shit. And no matter how much you scrape off, you still have it on your shoe. However, I have learned to just shrug my shoulders and change my shoes, because dogs apparently will shit where they want. I just hope the mods have enough doggie bags to clean up the mess, because I'm not doing it. And nobody else should have to, either. Quote
Guest HeyGay Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Hi Thai unworthy, as far as you say your one of the guys who cant just understand what I’m writing, its like you really are saying, “your such a snob and you find it beneath yourself to even bother” , trying to let other think your above any one else, I get many message from guys who can understand what I’m writing, I grant you if I’m out at a dinner date with a bottle of good wine in me and a nice Hennessey XO I do slur some times, but that’s a not to often. As I have been writing on the forums since 1995 so many forums, I can tell you it is a rare thing to get any one not understanding me and what I’m saying, its an old trick put me down you think it makes you sound Grand and intellectual, it just does not wash with me I’m sorry to say most guys can read my write up, or read it twice, you will soon get to understand what I’m saying, you even say what I write gets under your skin some times, well that’s exactly what I’m trying to do, it get under the readers skin so they answer and stop being a viewer. As I have said before to those who do not have a lot of time on their hands and spend all day reading posts, many people are kind enough to stop me in the street, as they have me pointed out or even take photos of me, as if I’m some one Important amazing, how these kind people come from all over the world and could not be nicer, as I’m one of those who are not hiding behind my computer Insulting people and confident my information is factual, they say they get up in the morning turn on their computer and love to read what I write, its so refreshing, so fortunately for me you are in the minority as a Grammar spelling snob, but don’t let any of this stop you to continue to read what I write, I’m sure at least one thing is fun for you, as you are to me?Even you know im really LMTU do you know why I'm not writing as LMTU on some forums and I write on them all, its because the owners say I can write, if Im not my self because to many people love to read what I say, but a very few love to fight with me.As I always say the truth dose a lot more damage than lies.Happy reading or trying to get your head round what Im saying in your case. Guest fountainhall Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 But, FH is not Joan Rivers So all the money spent on facelifts have clearly not had the desired effect! I would have to know what facts he looked at that led him to his assumptions That's perfectly reasonable. I suggest a good starting point might be the detail in the thread “Beware of con men companies”. as I’m one of those who are not hiding behind my computer Insulting people And I presume, with respect, that, given the insulting remarks you have openly made about the gaythailand poster on another Board very recently – and before the moderators’ collective ears prick up, may I remind them that this is a Board which Mr. HeyGay himself recommended to readers of this particular site - this is meant to be some kind of sick joke rather than merely a silly joke! Guest thaiworthy Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Happy reading or trying to get your head round what Im saying in your case. Fighting, they say, is another form of loving. And I guess I've loved you about as much as I can without actually knocking your teeth in. Quote
Bob Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 As I have been writing on the forums since 1995 so many forums, I can tell you it is a rare thing to get any one not understanding me and what I’m saying, its an old trick put me down you think it makes you sound Grand and intellectual Didn't want to jump into the fray but it's fairly hard to stomach some of this crap. But I'll keep it to a minimum and I'm fairly sure you won't misunderstand me: (1) Sure, you've written (badly and often incoherently) on the boards since the 90's. So what. (2) I actually don't know of anybody that's been kicked off of more boards than you. Now why is that? Well, it isn't because people don't buy your over-puffed claims (as they generally have simply guffawed at much of that) but because you annoy the hell out of people at times. (3) Hate to burst your bubble but I have no interest whatsoever in knowing any secret, special, fantastic, or just plain boring information that you may have obtained from "those in the know" or which you've simply made up. I simply could care less. I'm not one of the "millions" (or, alternatively, the two) of human beings who you think craves your scoops. Part of your problem is you erroneously think there are people out there that do. Other than that, carry on. I know you will until you get booted again. P.S. Increasing the font size is both childish and only serves to magnify your imbecility (if that's even possible). Quote
Guest jomtien Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 But I'll keep it to a minimum and I'm fairly sure you won't misunderstand me: I simply could care less. Well, I for one don't understand! Do you mean you couldn't care less? Quote
KhorTose Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Wow, I think differing opinions should be encourage, I think satire should be allowed I think you should be able to challenge someone else's facts, but I do not think you should call anyone a name. Haygay is extremely difficult to understand and often not on point, but like firecat says he is entitled to his opinion. The other side of the coin is that everyone else is also entitled to theirs. Yes, leave out the name calling. I was recently appraised of the ability to give honest assessments about businesses and services we can find in our community, even if that appraisal is negative. That really is what these message boards should be about. Recently Michael and others give me a great list of places to have breakfast in Pattaya. Not all agreed but there was a consensus on certain places and when (IF) I ever return to Pattaya I will definitely try the places they suggested. That is valuable and great information. I also might try toyboys as having read all the post---well the ones I could understand--it sounds like a good place even though everyone did not agree. This kind of information is exactly what makes a massage board valuable and I am so happy to see it allowed here. Without this what do you really have left, the weather or inane conversations that go on for 20 pages about the lowest subjects in the world. I believe haygay and firecat commented on one such. I only hope this board is never so placid that we end up with that kind of ridiculous subject as everyone is afraid to state an opinion about things that really matter. I commend the moderation here, but truly hope it continues to be something that is seldom used or needed. TotallyOz 1 Quote
