Guest fountainhall Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 An unemployed child minder in France was about to call her phone service provider to cancel her subscription when she received a bill for €11,721,000,000,000,000! She called Bouygues Telecom, the phone company headed by Martin Bouygues, a friend of Nicolas Sarkozy, but was told by shrugging staff there was nothing they could do. One said: "It's calculated automatically." Another told her she would be contacted about paying in instalments. Several calls later, an adviser admitted it was a mistake: San Jose owed €117.21. The company has apologised and let her off the real bill. http://www.guardian....ench-phone-bill How do you pay off 11.7 million billion Euros in installments? It’s 5,000 times the GDP of the country! Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 She must have been doing a hell of a lot of SMSing. I remember years ago when I traveled across the USA, I got a bill over 1k as I was going in and out of my carrier zone and I didn't even make calls. Quote
