TotallyOz Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 First, I had a good dinner at Cafe Royale. I like the place and their food is good and reasonable. The price for a soda is 100 baht which is insane! But, you do get good food and a nice view. Funny Boys is always full of cute guys and nice atmosphere. I always enjoy my time there and I did tonight. I had 2 sexy guys over for drinks and enjoyed my conversation with them. The mamasan Rose told me one of them was perfect for me and even gave great details and so I had him for a drink. He said that Rose lied and I had to agree. It was the 3rd time this has happened to me in this bar so Rose has gone from my favorite mamasan to just like all the rest. He runs a great bar and great atmosphere but do not trust him or most mamasans in Pattaya. Just IMHO It is best to talk to the boys in advance as I always do to make sure we are compatible. Luckily, I did that before I offed him. ToyBoys was great fun as well. Like Funny Boys, it was low music, sexy boys and a nice atmosphere. There was one guy who was to die for! Another time! Both Toyboys and Funny Boys had great looking guys and something for everyone. Both had drinks for 150 baht each which I thought was reasonable. Both had friendly staff and good service. Next was Xboys. That is the sexy boys show. Wow. The boys there on stage as gogo boys were so alive and dancing and energetic. It was great to see that on stage before the sexy boys show. The show itself was great with lots of eye candy if you can handle large pieces of equipment. There were a few shockers in the group who I would never have guessed their dick was as big as it was but it was nice to see. There weren't too many customers in the bars but it was also a rainy night. The weather sucked. But, unfortunately, the boy I wanted from Funny Boys did not. Boyztown is still a great place to hang out, have fun, see a show and find boys. If you can't find someone in the gogo bars in this area, you are not really looking. They had some great guys! Quote
firecat69 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I attended these Bars with Michael and am in full agreement with him and it has been a long time since I saw as many cute Boys and a few Stunners IMHO. In fact the GayRomeo boys will be on hold because I saw at least 4 boys I will be returning for. Unfortunately one of them will not be the most adorable Door Man at Xboys. There was a time when all I ever offed were Door Men because the Bars used the cutest boys to bring in customers. It has been quite some time since that was the case. However there he was , a young adorable angelic faced boy. Be still my heart! I went in and sat down and turned to Michael and said wasn't that Door Man just adorable? Michael just had to rain on my parade. He said " you mean the one in the High Heels. Sure enough there he was in 6 inch Heels and another fantasy ruined. Luckily there were a number of Boys on stage that I'm quite sure do not wear heels who I was very attracted to. Been a few years since I have seen so many good looking Boys in BoyZTown. I will be using GayRomeo a little less this trip.. TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 Been a few years since I have seen so many good looking Boys in BoyZTown. I will be using GayRomeo a little less this trip.. I am glad we both agree that there were so many hot guys in Boyztown! Have others been into this mecca of sexuality lately and had good experiences? Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 2nd night at the Xboys Pattayaland show. Tonight was even better than last night. Different performances. Better routines. And, I LOVE the B Boys! They are delightful! Quote
TMax Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Damn, my next trip is not until mid 2013 so I hope the quality is still there as I will be paying my first visit to Boyztown. I do prefer Bangkok but am branching to Pattaya for a bit of change, may only be for a few days but I have become interested enough to check out the scene down there. Quote
Nikom Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I ran down to Pattaya for two weeks in August and wanted to add a couple of notes. I still like Funny Boys but I have never understand who the movement of the boys around the stage is so slow. The workers there say it is the owner and not Rose. XBoys, YES! Across the street XBoys has a second bar named XBoysLand and many of the boys go back and forth between the two bars, especially for shows. Such nice boys!!!! One of the shows at XBoy was the best I have ever seen in Thailand. I also like Cupid. They has many new boys of every size and needs! The Mamasan there is MOST HELPFUL! . Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I am not often in Pattaya but I do remember the achingly slow rotation in Funny Boys. You had to sit for well over an hour before you had a chance of seeing most of the boys actually appear in front of you. On my last visit to BBB about 4 years ago, it was even worse - and one reason I never went back. If it is the owner determining the rotation, wouldn't a flood of complaints from patrons help persuade him otherwise? In my experience, most bars in BKK have a much faster rotation. Quote

If it is the owner determining the rotation, wouldn't a flood of complaints from patrons help persuade him otherwise?A couple of years ago, Funny Boys was voted best gogo bar in Pattaya on the Ting Tong forum. In fact, it's easily my favourite too as it has more attractive boys than all of the other Pattaya bars put together (to my eye). Slow rotation is not ideal, however it can easily be overlooked when there are always some very cute boys in sight.Last year, I spent several days in the company of one adorable Funny Boy and didn't even see him on the stage until the third visit. On the first visit, I just noticed him sat on a sofa. After some eye contact, I pointed at the empty seat next to me & and he quickly occupied it. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 How slow is slow? I define rotation to mean that if one boy goes off stage another boy gets on and they each move to the spot next to them. It used to be that there was one rotation per song, which was 3-4 minutes. Is that too slow, too fast or ideal? Perhaps if we knew the amount of time Funny Boys rotates it would be more helpful, considering slow and fast might mean different things to different people. I first started coming to Thailand in 1997. Back then everyone seemed to have the same rotation, once per song. Maybe this has changed, or maybe i never had a large enough sampling of bars, but I had become accustomed to 3-4 minutes and that's perfect for me. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 My recollection from last year is that the Funny Boys' rotation - when one departs the stage and another climbs on - was around 5 minutes - definitely not song by song. With around 16-20 boys on stage, half facing away from you, and another few waiting their turn or with customers, that can mean well over an hour before you have had a chance to see everyone. To me that's way too long. In two bars in Soi Twilight a few weeks ago rotation was much faster, with customers seeing all the boys in not much more than 10 minutes. Most customers go there to see the boys. If they have not been before, they might well get pissed off at seeing one new face only every 5 minutes. It seems to defeat the bar's objective of getting as many boys offed as possible. I can see why Funny Boys would have been voted the Best Bar. But we know from experience that the number of voters in these sorts of polls can be pretty small Quote
firecat69 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I agree that Funny Boys rotation could be quicker . But I think the reason that they get voted the Best Bar is consistency. Night in and night out , you can arrive at 830pm or 1030pm and they will have 20 or more boys on stage. Most of the other Bars will have nights when they have only 5 or 6 Boys and it happens over and over again. You might walk in and find 20 boys but you have an equal chance of finding 6 Boys. That has never happened to me at Funny Boys. TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 I have really never understood the rotation in Pattaya either and I don't like it. But, I think it has to do with giving the boys some free time to sit and do nothing. In Funny Boys, they have a great deal of time to rest. Come on guys, these boys work from 8-1 and they need half that time sitting around. Right? Quote
Guest jomtien Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 As members of the Teamsters Union, they are forbidden from working more than half the hours they are paid for. Quote
Guest Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 When the song changes in Funny Boys, all the people typically move just one place around. They might have 40 or more boys, with maybe 12 facing one way, 12 facing the other & the remainder sitting down. Well, it's something like that. This only works because they have the best selection of very attractive boys. Quote
firecat69 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I made a couple of short stops in BoysTown tonight. First was ToyBoys where I had 2 boys in mind to take if either was available. They were not but ToYBoys must have gotten a new shipment because they had at least 40 boys. Something for everyone and many of the new boys were of the younger variety although I would guess of age but I would check. Most boys I have ever seen in there and maybe as many boys in any GoGo in BoysTown. Next stop the original X Boys because I wanted to see if show was different then across the way. It was much tamer and IMHO the quality of the boys dancing are much better at the other XBoys. I would definitely go to the XBoys in the former David Club. Better show and at least in my opinion, more attractive boys. Quote
Guest Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 40 in Toy Boys? That's a big increase on the 10 or so I saw there last December. Maybe they're trying to raise their game to keep up with Funny Boys. Quote
