TotallyOz Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I need a 1000 watt power adapter for my Vitamix blender. Does anyone know where I can pick one of these up in Pattaya? Quote
KhorTose Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I am assuming this is a western 120V Vitamix and you want a transformer to step down from 220V. 1000w may be correct, but the vitamix I use to have ran at 1300w on 120. Make sure the amps are at or below 9A. If so then a 1000w transformer will be correct. I hate Home Pro as there prices are ridiculous and their staff is untrained, but they are all over Thailand including Pattaya. They have a wide selection of transformers. Quote
Guest travelerjim Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Michael, In Pattaya... Try the hardware/electronics supply store located in the basement... opposite TOPS Supermarket... inside TukCom South Pattaya Rd... They may have what you are looking for. Or Home Pro and Homeworks stores...in Pattaya tj Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I was at TukCom today and tried the store downstairs. They had exactly what I wanted. Cost was 2850 baht. We brought it to the apartment and plugged it in and it worked great. Delicious smoothies at last! Thanks all ! Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 That must be some fantastic blender! For that kind of money, you could have bought a brand new local one, already with the correct voltage requirements. However, it wouldn't be a Vitamix. Amazon has them from $379, so it must have been worth it to you. But what I want to know is, how can a smoothie taste that much better from a high-performance blender? Quote

The difference is in the power. I like big dicks and big powerful blenders. The smoothies taste amazing. Here is a nice video. Quote
Guest travelerjim Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 tw... Simple, my friend... It's"magic" tj Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I like big dicks and big powerful blenders. Jeez! I sure hope you never have an accident in the dark. That looks suspiciously like blood! Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 It's"magic" Truer words have never been spoken! Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Now that I've seen the video, I want one. I didn't know you could cook soup via friction because the blades whir so high. That has to be quite a feature. And kneading bread, I didn't know it could do that. And a 7-yr guarantee! I am glad you are using a blender instead of a juicer. With juicing you leave out all the good fiber and this machine seems to process that well. That means it is healthy for you. Unfortunately, it is much too expensive for me, considering the fact you also have to fork out another 3000 baht for the voltage adapter. Does it come in the 220-volt version? Wait, don't answer that. I don't want to know. It's too much money. But damn, Michael you are an excellent salesman. Have you considered working as their company rep? What is the version you have and how much did it cost? Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 What is the version you have and how much did it cost? http://www.amazon.com/Vitamix-1363-Professional-Series-Platinum/dp/B000RRKQKA/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1349228893&sr=1-1&keywords=vitamix+cia This one is great. Most are a great deal around 500.00 USD. The ones for 240 v in Thailand are closer to 900 USD. So, as you see it is cheaper to buy in USA and bring over and many do just that. I saw one in Bangkok before and it was over 30,000. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What kind of smoothies do you make? I love the watermelon fruit shakes I get in some restaurants in Thailand. I tried to make one (or rather get my mother try to make, she is more kitchen-savvy than I am) in Germany based on a recipe from the internet, and failed! Quote

I tried to make one (or rather get my mother try to make, she is more kitchen-savvy than I am) in Germany based on a recipe from the internet, and failed! The Watermelon fruit shakes are so much sugar you would die if you watched. I know. I did. I was at Mr. Rit's beach chairs a few years back and I would get 3 or 4 of these everyday. I did this for years. Finally, I said that I could not have something as it had too much sugar and the BF said, "why you drink that then?" I said that Watermelon's did not have much sugar and were all natural. He said watch this and ordered a shake. I watched them make it and it has more sugar than a Mountain Dew. LOL Oh well, I knew they were good for some reason. The boys and I mix different things in our shakes each night. Last night we put in one apple, one banana, one carrot, a few sticks of Asparagus, some celery and some frozen blueberries. I always start with Water and add Protein Powder. However, you can really put anything in them and it tastes great. We have been experimenting as Thailand has different fruit than USA. I love the process. The Vitamix does come with a recipe book but I haven't used it much as I much prefer just playing and testing. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Watermelon and pineapple are both high in sugar. Avoid. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I want to share some information I found yesterday during my quest to find a Vitamix blender here in Thailand. I think I found something better. Here is a comparison between the Vitamix 750 Professional Series and Buono Commercial Blender (TURBO). 1. Cost $743 VITAMIX vs 14,300 baht ($468.85US) BUONO Vitamix 750 $650 at Amazon.com, plus 2850 baht for 1000w transformer ($93.44US) = Total cost $743 before sales tax and shipping charges. 2. 24,000 rpm VITAMIX vs. 38,000 rpm BUONO 3. 1.89 litre capacity (64 ounces) VITAMIX vs. 2.5 litre capacity BUONO. 4. 1200 watt VITAMIX vs. 1500 watt BUONO. 5. 110 volt VITAMIX vs 220 volt BUONO. 6. Free delivery BUONO if bought online with Verasu, or pay international shipping elsewhere VITAMIX (if you can buy/ship it at all). Other features on the Buono appear to be the same as the Vitamix, even the unit's appearance/functionality. For me the decision is easy, pay less and get a more powerful 220V blender, or pay $275US more and get a less powerful blender that only works with 110 volts. The source for the above specs can be found at these links. http://www.amazon.co...rds=vitamix 750 http://www.verasu.co...ail.php?pid=916 http://www.williams-...lender-pro-750/ * Also the 7-year warranty for the Vitamix is VOID if used in a country where the voltage requirements are different than that for which the machine is designed for. I may get this at Versasu since they have a store near the Embassy in Bangkok on Wireless Rd. and I need to go there anyway. I read on ThaiVisa that they also have these units for the same price at the Emporium. Quote
