TotallyOz Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Does anyone actively use Netflix in Thailand? I am thinking of subscribing and want to know if it will allow me to watch movies from a Thai IP address. Thanks. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Why not just call and ask them? I had their service, but didn't watch often enough since the selection of movies was pretty lame. If you want to rent movies, why not use iTunes? Quote
TotallyOz Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 It is easy to call and get a sales person. I want to talk to someone in Thailand that actually uses the service. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Netflix's stock got hammered today, down 25%. Maybe the the big hedgefunds are monitoring Gay Thailand believing that gay men who live/visit Thailand are consumer product trendsetters. The lack of responses spooked them. Quote
mahjongguy Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Netflix is not available in Thailand. You could use a U.S.-based proxy server or VPN access point but the throughput wouldn't be good enough for streaming video. Quote

Had it been me, I would have just called first, because now it is a moot point. Actually, based on my experience with Netflex, I probably just would have rented movies from the iTunes store. Even in the US, the quality is just not there, especially if you like HD, but what can you expect for $8.63 a month? Not to mention, the selection is just crap. It isn't worth it, no matter where you are viewing it from. SOL. Sorry. Quote
TotallyOz Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 While I do agree with most of what you said TW, Netflix does have a great Gay and Lesbian collection. That is something ITunes sucks at. I am not sure why to be honest. But, Netflix has some great movies I wanted to see. And, I use it on my PS3 and it is fabulous. I just wasn't sure if I would be able to use it in Thailand. Now I know. Quote
