This seems not such a great deal as Agoda lists the lesser Superior rooms at around US$61 but without free Wi-Fi. But the deal offers bigger savings on Agoda’s Deluxe room rate of US$83, also without fee Wi-Fi. Both rates were checked for mid-August bookings.

We stayed there, good hotel fair breakfast. However, more then five minutes walk from BTS. More like 15 minutes or about 1/2 mile. However, taxis are cheap, no matter where you go. Staff friendly, place clean.

Definitely not 4 stars, more like 3 stars. From Tower Inn to Unico Grand Silom to Furama? That's what it looks like when I google it. I stayed there when it was Unico Grand Silom. Nothing special. Same-ol', same ol'. Like many other hotels in Bangkok, worn carpet and furniture, you get the idea. (Unless they did a massive refurbishing along with the name change-- doubtful.) But, like so many other hotels, it is far cheaper to change the name than to change the carpet and furniture.

And that's not the worst of it. In the lobby they had MacIntosh computers running Windows software. Now, how awful is that!?

Here is a photo taken in the room in May, 2009. The boyfriend is 5-star, but not the room!

Re: the cute pantless Thai ...Is he (2009 vintage) and the 2012 model same-same? :p

I'm beginning to believe there is more than "study Thai & Thai culture" motives...

in your soon to be retirement plans in Thailand...

Yes, and he still has very low mileage. You can kick the tires, but not too hard. He wants to teach me Thai language and culture, with and without the pratchatua.

I thought it was the Thai word for towel. But what the hell do I know?! I can't even count to 21 in Thai unless I'm naked.

I won't even ask what that means....

Towel (ผ้าเช็ดตัว) is pronounced paa (falling tone) - chet (low tone) - dtua (flat or mid tone). You confused me because the pronunciation "pra" (in English) normally means a buddhist monk or buddha image in Thai. But, then again, if you're naked, maybe you call it your little buddha?

The carpets were in good shape when i was there. I did not check out the computers in the hall as i always bring my own. Yes it is at the low level of four stars, but I find it somewhat nicer then the Pinnacle which is three stars. having said that, dollar for dollar I would suggest the Pinnacle is a better deal.
