Guest fountainhall Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Alas, no! The dear lady has not seen the light and become a Democrat. Instead, she is now a Swiss citizen! She is eligible for dual citizenship through her husband, who is of Swiss descent. What chance of her becoming a chocolate doll? How does that allow her to run again for the US Congress, I wonder? http://www.bbc.co.uk...canada-18011296 Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 If not chocolate, then gold. In her case, Fool's Gold. Or mebbe a nice Swiss watch, so she knows when it's time to quit politics. Quote
KhorTose Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 As long as she keeps her American citizenship she can run for congress. She would be the perfect candidate for the good looking, but heartless nutcase party. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Does she know that Switzerland recognizes same-sex partnerships? In a 2005 referendum, same-sex couples were granted the same rights as married couples in next of kin status, insurance, taxation, and shared possession of dwelling. In fact, it was the first nation to pass such a law by referendum.Adopting Swiss citizenship, even for family reasons, will open Bachmann up to hard questions from Tea Party loyalists and conservatives on the campaign trail. As one commenter posted on a blog Wednesday: “No better way to say you Love America than becoming a citizen of another country...” http://www.washingto...PdAEU_blog.html Quote
