Bob Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I've never met Monty (or at least I don't think I have) but, based on all the stories about him on the various boards over the years, I've always wanted to meet the guy. He seems like quite the character and rather universally liked by just about everybody he's encountered. There also have been several stories posted....some by Monty himself....detailing his medical issues, the last most serious one (just a couple of months ago?) requiring him to quickly sell the business he owned then. Now he's stepping back into the stress and hours of running another, even bigger, bar in Pattaya?!? Wow. Monty, you've maybe got balls bigger than the repository of your common sense but, nevertheless, good luck with your new venture (but, more importantly, stealing Frank Sinatra's line again, may you live to be 150 years old....and the last voice you hear is mine!). The money was paid and the contract signed yesterday. It is disappointing For both of us. But the Corner Bar is still for sale at 1,500,000 bht or near offer. Guest fountainhall Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Why did the owners who took over only a few months ago fail to keep The Corner Bar the success it had been before? I thought they were touted as experienced owners. I know they got rid of some staff and that seemed an odd move at the time. But there must be more to it to turn a successful bar in a great location into something obviously less than successful in such a short space of time. Quote
